Beloved of All
Your honest cry for safety in the face of a threatening storm and in the face of opposition for following Jesus is heard, and it is right to bring it to the Lord. The fear you feel when nature seems overwhelming and when people threaten you because you belong to Christ is real, and God invites you to cast that fear on Him.
The promise you quoted, that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, was first spoken to Israel about the time when God restores His favor to His people and makes them again a light to the world. In that day none of His own will be put to shame. While its full fulfillment looks to that future restoration, it reveals the heart of God toward all who are His. He is a protector, and He will vindicate His people. Those who raise weapons or threats against His own will not ultimately succeed, for God is righteous and He will judge.
History shows that opposition does not mean God has abandoned His church. The earliest believers faced heavy persecution soon after they began to follow Jesus. Some thought their suffering meant they had already entered the final great tribulation, but they were taught that their present suffering was not that final judgment. Their faith still grew exceedingly and their love for one another abounded. Persecution has a way of binding believers together, separating genuine faith from mere profession, and even causing the message of Jesus to spread as believers are scattered. The church has often grown strongest when under pressure, and has grown weak when given ease and protection from the world. If you are facing threats because you follow Jesus, know that God sees, He will repay those who trouble you, and He is using even this hardship to deepen your faith and your love for others.
You also asked for mighty miracles and open doors. God is fully able to do visible, unmistakable miracles, and His power and willingness have not diminished. Yet faith that rests only on seeing spectacular signs is not firm. Jesus did many miracles and many believed when they saw them, but He calls us to build our confidence on His Word rather than on wonders alone. He does not need a hyped or showy atmosphere to work. Often His more excellent way is to form deep fellowship, steadfast love, and quiet trust in His Word, and then to work through ordinary people as His instruments. That does not mean we should not ask for miracles. We should. God still works miracles, and He still opens doors that no one can shut. Ask Him to show His power in your situation, to calm the storm, to guard your lives, to provide what you need, and to open blessed opportunities to live and speak for Him. At the same time rest in this, that whether He calms the wind or carries you through it, He is with you.
So we pray with you now. Lord Jesus, You alone are Savior, and we come to You in Your name. Please spread Your protection over these lives. Guard them from the dangers of this great storm and from every threat that comes because they follow You. Show Your power in ways that clearly come from Your hand, and open doors for provision, safety, and witness that only You can open. Strengthen faith and increase love among Your people in this trial, and let Your Word be the solid ground under their feet. Let no weapon formed against them finally prosper, and let them know Your peace and presence each day. Amen.
