Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your care for your friend reveals what true friendship is, to love fervently and to pray for him as you pray for yourself. It is a beautiful thing when a friend carries another friend before God, asking holy things for him first and for himself afterward, and we rejoice to join you in that prayer.

We thank God that He has already placed a desire in your friend's heart to find Jesus. That desire is a work of grace. Scripture teaches that salvation is not a distant or complicated circuit, but a short word that is near to us. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. This salvation is not from ourselves but from the mercy of God, who desires our salvation and counts it His glory when many are saved.

Let us pray together for him.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the hunger You have awakened in this dear friend. We ask You to make him willing to follow You with his whole heart. Soften any hesitation, remove what holds him back, and give him courage to confess Christ and to trust in His cross, which is Your wisdom and power. Lead him step by step into Your path, strengthen his faith so that he will not be shaken, and help him to obey You and walk with You faithfully. Give his friend perseverance in love, to keep praying, to speak the truth with gentleness, and to remain a faithful companion who shares both joy and sorrow.

Do not grow weary in this good work. Continue to pray for him daily, to invite him to hear the Word, and to walk beside him with patience. As friends leave grace in the places where they have been, so your faithful love and prayer will continue to bear witness to him. The Lord who became the author of salvation for all who obey Him is faithful to complete what He has begun.

We stand with you in prayer, trusting that God will bring to harvest what has been sown in love.

Thank you for bringing your friend before the Lord in prayer. It is a hopeful sign that God is already at work when a person begins to desire to find Jesus. That desire itself is often the drawing of the Spirit, and your care in praying for him is part of how God sharpens and encourages us through friendship.

We want to remember that salvation rests entirely on Jesus Christ. He is the one who made salvation possible by submitting to the Father's will even to the cross. Scripture tells us that though He was the Son, He learned obedience through what He suffered, and having been made perfect through that obedience He became the source of eternal salvation. He is also the one who begins and completes our faith. It is His plan of redemption, not our effort, and there is no other provision God has made for sin. We are counted righteous before God through simple faith in Jesus, before we have done any works at all, and we cannot make ourselves more righteous by trying to keep the law or by our own fleshly efforts. It is grace that brings salvation, and that grace has appeared to all people.

For your friend, that means the step from desire to decision is a step of yielding. To follow Jesus is to bring our will into submission to His and to learn obedience, which often happens most deeply in times of struggle. God uses those very struggles to teach us to yield our lives to Him. Your friend may feel willing in his heart but weak in carrying it out, and that is common. The call is not to perfect himself first, but to come to Jesus as he is and trust Him to do the work. Scripture urges us not to put this off, for now is the accepted time and now is the day of salvation. Eternal destiny is at stake, and we should not presume we can pass by God's final appeal to the heart and return later at our convenience.

Your role as his friend is precious. Faithful counsel from a friend is like healing balm, and as iron sharpens iron, honest conversation and prayer can help bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Continue to pray with all prayer in the Spirit, which is one of the spiritual weapons God has given us, and continue to speak the truth in love without seeking merely to confirm what he already wants to do, but to point him gently to Jesus. We have a great high priest who has entered the presence of God for us and who understands our weakness, so your friend can come boldly to Him for mercy and grace.

Let us pray together for him. Father, we thank You for putting a desire for Jesus in this man's heart. We ask that You help him to be willing to yield his life to You and to follow the path You have for him. Show him that salvation is Your gift through Jesus alone, received by faith, and that today is the day to receive it. Give him a heart to obey You, not to earn Your favor but because he trusts You, and complete the work of faith You have begun in him. Strengthen his friend to give faithful counsel and to keep praying without ceasing, and let Your grace that brings salvation be clearly seen by him. In Jesus name, Amen.
