"You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:43-45
-Jesus-

Loving your enemies is not only consistent with Jesus' teachings but also His walk. He came down to earth to rescue God’s enemies, all those who transgressed the holy laws. He laboured for the sinners through His teachings and His miracles. He willingly gave His own life for them right up to the cross. He died on the cross but not before uttering the following:
"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."
His enemies tortured Him but Jesus forgave them all. Jesus believed that His mission to save the unrighteous was well worth it. Should we not feel the same?
Forgiveness will stop hate dead in its tracks.

Heavenly Father, I know there are still a few people in my life that I'm bitter towards. I carry this baggage of anger and hurt. Give me the strength and humility to forgive them all. I am indeed a new creation and I willingly love and pray for all my enemies without expecting or needing anything in return, in the mighty name of our risen Saviour Jesus I pray, amen.

Love is the cornerstone of the new covenant.

I will forever obey the voice of the Lord. To love my neighbors as myself and do good to those who despise and reject us for loving Jesus. Our reward is in heaven above where Jesus will tell us all true. Well done good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of Your Lord. Are you ready to hear the voice of the Lord?
Amen.
