The voice of God bids you to return, now, and I would urge you to do so because life is so uncertain that if you do not return now, you may not live to return at all. Return, return, return. The message He sends to you is not one of condemnation or threat, but simply this, "Return, return, return."
And amidst the wreck of matter and the crash of worlds, safe, safe, safe and near our God and blessed eternally shall we be. How safe we are, then, when embarked in the good ship of Providence, with such a Captain who has forearranged and foreordained all things from the beginning even unto the end.
God fights against your pride, that you may be humbled. It is a very solemn thing to have God fighting against you. Say to Him, "Show me why You contend with me." But do not despair. If the Lord had meant to destroy you, He would have sternly said, "He is joined to ideas: let him alone." This fighting against men is fighting against their evil for their good, that they may be saved.
They came to her and then, stooping down and spreading out her wings, she covered them and they were safe. Christ must convey even the smallest boat safe into the port of Paradise. He must not suffer one of these little ones to perish, for such is not the will of our Father who is in Heaven. Some on boards and some on broken pieces of the ship, but all who are in Christ Jesus shall escape safe to land.
Return now every one from his evil way. If a man should take away my silver and give me twice the weight in gold in return, should I not be thankful? And so, if the Lord takes away temporals and gives us spirituals, He thus gives us a hundred times more than He takes away. After all is right between God and your soul, you need not fear what happens to you in the future, for, come sickness or health, come poverty or wealth, all is right, all is safe, all is well.
