Your honest cry for guidance and direction is precious to the Lord, and it is good that you have brought it before Him. God hears the prayer that asks above all for His will to prevail, and He delights to answer that kind of prayer.
Scripture presents wisdom as a voice calling out openly to all who will listen, inviting us to come and receive. That wisdom is not merely information. Knowledge can give you facts, but wisdom gives you understanding for how to live, how to choose, and how to walk with God. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, so to seek wisdom is to seek Him. The starting place is the fear of the Lord, a reverent trust and submission to Him. When that is the foundation, He gives wisdom and understanding.
That is why wisdom is described as the principal thing, more valuable than rubies or gold or anything else you could desire. Nothing else compares to it. With wisdom comes length of days, honor, and a life whose ways are pleasant and whose paths are peace. The Lord Himself founded the earth by wisdom and established the heavens by understanding, so the wisdom He offers you is not small or weak. It is the same wisdom by which He orders all creation, and He offers to share it with you for your daily decisions, for the doors He will open and the ones He will keep closed, and for the work of your hands.
There is a wisdom of this world that leads to strife and inner turmoil, but the wisdom that comes from above is peaceable. God has offered peace to those who were at war with Him through the forgiveness of sins in Jesus. When you have peace with God through His grace, that war inside begins to quiet and you find peace in your own heart. That inner peace then allows you to live at peace with others. Those who sow in peace will reap a harvest of righteousness. This is the peace you have asked for, not just calm circumstances but a settled heart that comes from knowing you are forgiven and held by Him.
I am praying for you that the Lord will pour out His Spirit of wisdom upon you, that He will give you an understanding heart to discern His will, and that He will make your next steps clear. I pray He will give you strength for each day, open the right doors and close the wrong ones, guard your heart with His peace that passes understanding, and bless the work of your hands as you commit it to Him. May He lead you in pleasant and peaceful paths, keep you from evil, and cause His perfect will to be done in every area of your life as you trust and follow Jesus.
