Disciple of Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus,
You know my heart and my pain. You know how much I want ### to come back into my life. If it is Your will and if this relationship is right for both of us, please remove the anger, misunderstandings and distance between us. Touch ###’s heart and give him peace and clarity. If we are meant to be together, please guide him to contact me and help us reconcile with love, respect and honesty. Bring the right healing and outcome into our lives as soon as possible. Amen.

We hear your heart’s cry and lift this matter before the throne of grace, where our Lord Jesus Christ intercedes for us. First, we must affirm that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, for He Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is in His name alone that we pray, trusting in His sovereignty and perfect will.

Your desire for reconciliation is understandable, for love is a gift from God, and He delights in unity and peace among His children. However, we must examine this prayer in light of Scripture, for not all relationships are ordained by God, and not all reunions align with His design. The Bible calls us to pursue relationships that honor Him, particularly in the context of marriage, which is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this relationship is not rooted in a commitment to marriage under God’s design, we must ask whether it is truly His will for you to be reunited.

We also must address the reality of sin, for the Bible warns us that "bad company corrupts good character" (1 Corinthians 15:33). If this relationship has involved fornication (sex outside of marriage), we must repent and turn away from it, for Scripture is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). If this is the case, we urge you to seek forgiveness and commit to purity, trusting that God’s plans for you are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).

If this relationship is with someone of the same sex, we must lovingly but firmly rebuke this, for Scripture declares that homosexuality is a sin (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). God’s design for intimacy is within the bounds of marriage between one man and one woman, and we must submit to His Word, even when it is difficult. If this is your situation, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and repentance, trusting that God’s grace is sufficient to lead you into His truth and freedom.

Now, let us pray together, seeking God’s will above our own desires:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who alone is our mediator and advocate. We lift up this dear sister/brother to You, asking that You would grant her/him wisdom, discernment, and peace. Lord, You know the longings of her/his heart, and we ask that You would align them with Your perfect will. If this relationship is not in accordance with Your Word, we pray that You would break any unhealthy attachments and lead her/him into the freedom that comes from obedience to You.

Father, if this relationship is meant to be restored, we ask that You would soften hearts, remove bitterness, and bring healing. Let Your love and truth prevail, and may both parties seek You first in all things. If this relationship is not of You, we pray that You would close the door firmly and open a new path that leads to Your blessings and purpose. Give her/him the strength to trust You, even when the outcome is not what she/he hoped for.

Lord, we ask that You would guard her/his heart from idolatry, for we know that anything we place above You becomes a snare. Help her/him to seek You first, to delight in You above all else, and to trust that Your plans are for her/his good. Fill her/him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and remind her/him that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

We also pray for the other person involved. If they do not know You, Lord, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself, that they might experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ. If they are a believer, we pray that You would convict them of any sin and lead them into repentance and restoration. May Your Holy Spirit work powerfully in both of their lives, bringing glory to Your name.

Father, we trust in Your timing and Your ways, for Your Word tells us that "the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations" (Psalm 33:11). We surrender this situation into Your hands, asking that You would work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek God’s face earnestly, not just for the return of this person, but for His will to be done in your life. Spend time in His Word, for "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with godly counsel, for "where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety" (Proverbs 11:14). And above all, trust in the Lord with all your heart, leaning not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

If this relationship is restored, let it be under God’s terms, rooted in repentance, purity, and a commitment to honor Him in all things. If it is not restored, trust that God has something better in store for you. His love is perfect, and His plans for you are filled with hope. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and walk in the freedom and joy that comes from following Him.

We hear the ache in your prayer, wanting anger and misunderstanding cleared and hoping for a loving reconciliation if it is right. Waiting and not knowing is exhausting, and it makes sense you are bringing this to Jesus so honestly.

We are praying with you to hold both your hope and your openness to God's will. You already prayed it so well, if you are meant to be together, that God would guide that. Real reconciliation, when it happens, takes willing hearts on both sides and time to rebuild trust, not just one person reaching out. That is why giving space for peace and clarity, for ### and for you, can be an act of love even while it hurts.

One gentle next step that often helps in this kind of waiting is to lean into steady community while you wait rather than carrying the what ifs alone. Meet with a trusted pastor or mature friend who knows you, share how you are doing, and let them walk with you in prayer and perspective. It also helps to let any contact be unpressured and respectful, so both of you have room to hear God clearly.

Father, we bring our friend and ### before You. You see the pain, the distance, and the love that remains. Bring healing where there has been hurt, calm where there has been anger, and clear wisdom for each next decision. Guard both hearts with Your peace and lead them toward what is good and right in Your eyes. We trust You with the outcome and ask for comfort day by day in Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer with its longing and pain has been heard, and it is good that you have brought it before the Lord who is light and before whom all things are known. He sees the heart as it is, with its sorrow, its anger and its distance, and He waits to be gracious.

There is a waiting God, as the prophet declares, a God ready to pardon who has long borne with us in patience. Behold how His heart yearns toward His people. Yet there is also a waiting people, for when God has waited for the soul, that soul is brought to wait on Him. My soul, wait thou only upon God, and be thou silent before Him. Rest calm and undisturbed, not upon a creature, not upon a desired outcome, but upon the promise of God alone. They that wait upon the Lord shall not want any good thing. That is the right kind of dependence, to know no dependence except upon God.

This leads me to urge honest dealing with God. He is light, that is truth, and He cannot smile upon anything that is false. Our deceitful hearts would have us claim fellowship while hiding sin, but God sees sin in us if we do not. The way to draw near is to come on the ground of truth, confessing that we have sinned, and on the ground that Christ died for sinners. That is the truth on God's side which enables Him to smile upon sinners. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and there is but one healing plant, one Fountain opened on Calvary, one great Physician at the right hand of God. The least thing about Christ is healing, and His blood heals all sorts of diseases of the soul. When you say, God be merciful to me a sinner, though you dare not lift up your eyes to heaven, the eyes of heaven look down on you.

Above all, remember the ministry of reconciliation. God has prepared everything necessary for perfect reconciliation with Himself through Jesus Christ, and He beseeches you, be ye reconciled to God. To as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. Trusting Jesus Christ is the grand condition of reconciliation with God, and until the heart is right with Him, no other reconciliation can be truly blessed.

Therefore I would pray with you not simply that a human heart may be turned according to your wish, but that the will of the Lord may be done in holiness and truth. If restoration is to be sought, let it be sought in love, respect and honesty, under the Lordship of Christ and within His holy design, for marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and the intimacies of love belong only within that covenant. Salvation and peace are through Jesus Christ alone, and any path that would lead away from Him can bring no lasting healing.

So let us ask the Lord to search the heart, to forgive sin through the blood of Christ, to remove bitterness where it has taken root, and to grant peace and clarity according to His wisdom. If it be His good will to bring reconciliation in a way that honors Him and leads toward a pure and faithful covenant, pray that He will guide both lives with restraint and godliness. If it be not His will, pray that He will grant grace to wait only upon Him, to be content in His providence, and to find healing that no earthly reunion could give. For when God heals, He heals effectually and forever.

May the Spirit of God help you to wait silently before Him, to meditate upon His statutes rather than upon sorrow, and to trust that His waiting love will not be in vain toward His own. May He grant you healing and pardon together, as He alone can, for His dear Son's sake. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing this pain before the Lord Jesus. He knows your heart and sees your sorrow, and He is a merciful and faithful High Priest who has compassion on us in our weakness and who came to make reconciliation for our sins.

True love is proved not only by strong feeling but by hearing and keeping the commandments of God. Scripture teaches that we owe love to one another as members of one body, and that love seeks what is holy and good and fulfills the whole Law. For that reason we do not simply ask God to grant every desire of the heart, but to shape our hearts to love what He loves and to desire His will above all.

So we pray with you in this way. We ask the Lord Jesus, through whom alone we have salvation and reconciliation with the Father, to have mercy on you and on him. We ask Him to take away anger and misunderstanding, to remove distance where it has grown, and to give both of you peace, clarity and honesty. If it is His will and if being together would draw you both closer to Christ and lead in purity and truth toward the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman as God has designed, we ask Him to guide that path with love and respect. If it is not His will, we ask Him to give you grace to receive His healing, to walk in holiness, and to trust Him for the right outcome in His perfect time. In either case we pray that you both will honor Him with your bodies and your choices, for God has placed sex and shared life within marriage alone, and He calls us to pursue what is pure and pleasing to Him.

Continue to seek Him daily, to listen to His word and to keep what you hear, for that is the sure sign of love for Him. Cast your cares upon Him and rest in His care, trusting that He who took our nature in love is able to heal, to restore, and to lead you into what is best even when the way is painful.

We will keep praying that God grants you wisdom, healing and a heart at rest in His will, and that He draws both of you ever nearer to Jesus Christ. Amen.
