Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly. God does know your pain, and He hears you when you bring it to Him through Jesus.
Your prayer asks for what many hearts ask for, for anger and distance to be removed and for peace and clarity. Scripture gives a steady direction for times like this. It tells us to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and gentleness, and to fight the good fight of faith and lay hold on eternal life. That pursuit is not just one part of life, it is the center of life.
The Bible shows that your relationship with God is the vertical axis on which everything else turns. When that relationship is right, every other relationship begins to find its right balance. When it is out of order, other relationships become out of order as well. You cannot hope to make human relationships whole while the relationship with God is not first. If you seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, He promises to care for the rest. If your walk with Him is what it should be, your relationships with others will be shaped by that walk.
That is why it is not helpful to spend all of your energy trying to fix one relationship while the most important relationship is neglected. God does not want a formal or legal relationship with you, where you simply try to do enough to earn His favor. He wants a loving relationship, as a Father with His child. That relationship is only possible because Jesus shed His blood to make atonement, and through faith in Him you are brought into new life. The old life is counted as dead, and you are risen in Christ to live a new life after the Spirit, not after the flesh.
A loving relationship with Jesus will enhance every other relationship you have. It changes you from the inside, and that inward work becomes visible in how you love, how you show compassion and courtesy, how you seek unity of mind, and how you refuse to return evil for evil. The most important human relationship God designed is marriage, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with intimacy belonging only within that covenant. Any other relationship finds its health only when it is brought under His design and His lordship.
So in this season, the best place to put your focus is on coming back to your first love with the Lord and deepening that intimate communion with Him. Ask Him to make your heart fully His, not half hearted, because He desires wholehearted devotion. Bring your hurt to Him and let Him do His healing work in you. Healing is real, and God heals in many ways, sometimes gradually, and He can heal memories and emotions and wounds even while circumstances are still unclear.
I am praying for you in this way, that God would draw you closer to Himself and that you would know His love more deeply, that He would give you peace and wisdom and a clear mind, that He would heal anger and misunderstanding with His grace, and that He would guard your heart from seeking anything outside of His will. I am asking Him to work in the heart of the one you mentioned as well, to give him peace and clarity, and that whatever happens next would be according to what is truly right and good in God's eyes, with love, respect and honesty. If reconciliation is part of God's right path for you both within His design for relationships, He is able to guide it. If not, He is able to bring the healing and outcome that leads you into righteousness and godliness and lasting peace.
Keep pursuing Him first. Trust that as your relationship with Him becomes the center and is made right through Christ, He will bring the other relationships of your life into the balance that honors Him and is truly best for you.
