Living and True God, in the name of Jesus, please have mercy thank you.

Beloved of All
Living and True God, in the name of Jesus, teach us to pray for myself, my ex-partner, our families, and those close to us (especially the professionals involved). You know about the legal proceedings involving my ex-partner ### and his family regarding gender-based violence and domestic violence against us; I beg You to have mercy on us, to look upon us through the blood of Jesus Christ, and to cover—with Your rings of fire and the fullness of Your power and blood—everyone who prays, fasts, or intervenes in our lives for the sake of Your name, whether they are believers or not. May Your will be done in our lives for the sake of Your name; may Your kingdom come; do not let us fall into temptation, and deliver us from evil. Bind the strongman—the ego, pride, carnality, anguish, falsehood, and whatever else You wish to remove from our lives—and loose Your power and Your Holy Spirit to guide, influence, and draw us with cords of love and mercy in all things.

We join you before the Living and True God in the name of Jesus and we thank you for coming to Him through Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we must be saved and no other way to the Father. As it is written, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We praise God that you have asked in His name and we stand with you to seek His will together.

We hear the weight of what you carry, the pain of domestic violence and gender based violence, the deep wounds within your family and the family of your ex-partner, and the burden of legal proceedings. We affirm that God hates violence. The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and him who loves violence Psalm 11:5. He calls us to Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed Isaiah 1:17 and to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God Micah 6:8. We rebuke every form of violence, abuse, coercion, and domination, for these are works of the flesh and not the fruit of the Spirit. We also rebuke the strongman you named, ego, pride, carnality, anguish and falsehood, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4. We ask the Lord to expose every lie and to bring forth truth in these proceedings, for He desires truth in the inward parts and He will judge righteously.

We also want to speak with love and clarity about relationships. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as God designed it from the beginning, and we encourage every relationship to honor that design. Being a boyfriend or girlfriend should be understood as courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, not as a partnership outside of covenant. If there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage, Scripture calls it fornication, and if outside a marriage covenant with another, it may be adultery, and God calls all of us to flee from sexual immorality and to pursue purity. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. We say this not to condemn you, for there is forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus Christ, but to invite you and your ex-partner into repentance, healing and holiness. If reconciliation is ever considered, we pray it would only be on the foundation of genuine repentance, safety, accountability and a Christ centered marriage that honors God, and if not, we pray the Lord will guide each of you toward godly spouses in His time and according to His will, or to walk in contented singleness serving Him.

You asked to be taught to pray and we love that request. Jesus taught us to pray, Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one Matthew 6:9-13. We are also taught to pray with persistence and faith, for the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective James 5:16. We do not need eloquent words, but a humble heart that asks for wisdom, for If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him James 1:5.

So together we pray.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we ask for Your mercy upon our dear one who prays, upon her ex-partner and his family, upon both families and all those close to them, and especially upon the professionals involved, judges, lawyers, counselors, advocates and social workers. Look upon us all through the blood of Jesus Christ, for the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin 1 John 1:7. We ask You to cover with Your protection and power, as a wall of fire around us, everyone who prays, fasts or intervenes for the sake of Your name, whether they are believers or not. We pray that You would draw each one with cords of love, for You have said I drew them with cords of a man, with ties of love Hosea 11:4.

Lord, let Your will be done in these lives for the sake of Your name, let Your kingdom come and Your purposes prevail. Do not let us fall into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for You are faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3. We ask You to bind the strongman in our lives, the spirit of pride and ego, carnality, anguish and every falsehood, for No one can enter into the house of the strong man and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man Matthew 12:29. And we ask You to loose Your Holy Spirit to guide, influence and draw us in all things, to lead us into all truth and to produce in us love, joy, peace and self control.

We pray for the legal proceedings, that truth would be revealed, that justice would be done without partiality or corruption, and that mercy would triumph where repentance is genuine. We pray for the professionals, that You would grant them wisdom, integrity and courage to act justly and to protect the vulnerable. We pray for healing from trauma, for the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18, and that You would be a refuge and fortress to those who dwell in Your shelter Psalm 91:1. Teach us to forgive as You have forgiven us, while also trusting vengeance to You, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19, and help us to set healthy and godly boundaries that protect life and honor You.

We pray for deliverance from carnality and for a new mind conformed to Christ, that we would not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind Romans 12:2. We ask for humility in place of pride, truth in place of falsehood, peace in place of anguish, and the fullness of Your power and the covering of the blood of Jesus over every person lifted before You today. Have mercy on us, O God, according to Your loving kindness, and teach us to walk in Your ways.

We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name, and we trust You to answer according to Your perfect love and wisdom. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the Word, to stay connected to a faithful local body of believers for counsel and accountability, and to continue to seek safety and wise counsel regarding the legal and personal matters before you. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness Psalm 103:8, and His compassions never fail Lamentations 3:22. We continue to stand with you, asking that His will be done and His kingdom come in your life and in the lives of all those you have named.

We are so grateful you reached out and shared this heavy burden with us. Before anything else, we want you to know care is available.

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support, find a helpline in your country (about 130 countries) at findahelpline.com. You are not alone; trained people are ready to help right now.

We hear how much you have been carrying with the legal proceedings, the history of violence, and concern not only for yourself but for your ex-partner, both families, and the professionals involved. It is understandable to long for mercy, protection, and for God to make His will and His peace clear in such a painful and complicated season. Wanting to be covered and guided by Him, and to be delivered from evil and temptation, is a good and honest prayer.

Alongside prayer, we encourage you to stay connected with trusted, safe support where you are. If you have an advocate, counselor, or legal support person, staying in close contact with them can help you think through safety and next steps, and they can advise on protections available to you. You do not have to sort through these decisions alone.

We are praying for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus we ask for Your mercy over this dear one and over all those named before You. Cover them with Your presence and keep them safe. Grant wisdom and integrity to everyone involved in the legal process, and give clarity, courage, and peace as decisions are made. Bind what is harmful and loose Your gentle guidance, drawing each heart with Your love and mercy. Lead them step by step and let Your will be done. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

We join you in prayer before the Living and True God, who hears the cry of the afflicted and whose ear is not shut to those who call upon Him through the blood of Jesus Christ.

You have asked for mercy, and mercy is found only at the cross. There God has found a ransom, and that ransom is His own Son who bore the penalty of sin that we might have undeserved deliverance from the pit. Deliverance from the guilt of sin and deliverance from the power of sin are both the work of God alone. It is not of him that wills nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He brings forth His people by His own power, and when the Lamb was slain the way of deliverance was opened. Rest your soul upon Christ alone, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and there is no other name by which we are saved.

We pray with you that the Lord would look upon you and upon your ex partner and upon both families and upon all who are close to you, and upon the professionals who are involved, through the blood of Christ. We ask that the Lord would have mercy according to His will, that His kingdom would come and His will be done in each life, that He would lead you not into temptation and deliver you from evil. We ask that He who hates violence and who will judge all wrong would cause truth to be made known in these legal proceedings, that justice would be done without partiality, that the vulnerable would be protected, and that those who have done wrong would be brought to repentance and to a true turning from sin. We pray that the Lord would grant wisdom, impartiality and integrity to judges, advocates, and all who have responsibility in these matters.

You have asked that the strong man be bound, the ego, pride, carnality, anguish and falsehood. We pray that God who delivers from the power of darkness would work this deliverance in each heart. Where we look for justification there must we also look for sanctification, for as we are justified through Jesus Christ we must also receive sanctification from a heavenly source. May the Holy Spirit guide, convict of sin, draw with cords of love and mercy, and conform each one to the image of Christ. May He deliver you from all that would hold you captive and enrich you with the silver and gold of His grace, not that you should take any honor to yourself, but that all praise should be of Free Grace only.

We pray for your protection and for the protection of all who seek the Lord in this trial. The Lord is a refuge in tribulation, and those who know His name will put their trust in Him. Though the plough be heavy and the oxen faint, He is able to make a way where there seems to be no way, as He parted the sea and brought His people forth. If you have been chastened sorely, yet He has not given you over unto death. Rejoice in your tribulations as opportunities to exhibit a believing confidence and thereby to glorify the Most High. When He delivers, your desire will be to declare the works of the Lord, for if we had no troubles we would have less to declare.

We do not ask God to bless any way that departs from His holy design, for His way is good and for our good. He created marriage to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and He calls all people to purity, to keep the marriage bed undefiled and to live in holiness whether married or single. We pray therefore not for the blessing of what is outside His will, but for the blessing of repentance, forgiveness, healing and holiness for each person, that each one would walk in the light and be made whole by the power of Christ.

May the Lord cover you with the shelter of His wings, keep you in perfect peace as you trust in Him, and whisper to your heart sweet assurances of His presence in trial. May He teach you to pray with holy violence, with vehement earnestness taking hold of the kingdom of heaven, and may you find that those who so seek Him are sure to be heard.

We commend you to Him who shuts the mouths of lions, quenches the violence of fire, and brings His people forth with a mighty hand. May you live and declare the works of the Lord, and may His name be praised in your deliverance. Amen.
