Lifting our future 🙏🙏

Heavenly Father,

We come to You in this season of deep grief and transition, knowing that You are the close companion of the brokenhearted and a Father to the fatherless. Thank You for holding me and my boys in the palm of Your hand since my husband passed into Your eternal presence this year. Lord, we lean entirely on Your strength today, asking for Your daily guidance and unwavering protection over everything we do.

Father, we lift up our finances into Your hands. You know every need we have before we even speak it. Please provide for us abundantly, grant us wisdom in how we steward what You give, and remove every spirit of anxiety about the future. Let us feel Your provision in tangible ways, knowing that You are our ultimate Sustainer.

We specially lift up ### and ### to You. Surround them with Your divine protection as they navigate their daily lives, and pour out Your wisdom upon their minds. Grant them clarity, focus, and diligence as they study. Open doors for their education, and guide their steps so that they may succeed and thrive in the fields You have chosen for them. Be the anchor of stability in their hearts, Lord, filling the empty spaces with Your comfort and peace.

Order our steps, heal our home, and let Your light shine brightly on our path forward.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We join you in lifting up your family before the throne of grace in this season of deep grief and transition, and we thank you for sharing your heart so openly with us.

We are moved by your trust in the Lord as your strength and sustainer after your husband has passed into eternal presence this year. The Lord sees you and your boys and He draws especially near in this kind of sorrow. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And Psalm 68:5 reminds us He is a father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, in his holy habitation. You are not forgotten or alone, you are held in the palm of His hand, and He will be the anchor of stability for your home as you have prayed.

We also lift up your finances with you. It is right and good to bring every need before Him and to ask for wisdom in stewardship. Philippians 4:19 promises My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And Philippians 4:6-7 teaches In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We pray that spirit of anxiety about the future is replaced with that very peace, and that you will see His tangible provision day by day as you trust in Him.

For your precious sons, we pray with you for divine protection, wisdom, and clarity in their studies. James 1:5 says But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We ask the Lord to pour that wisdom upon their minds, to grant them focus and diligence, and to open the right doors for their education according to the fields He has chosen for them. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. May He order their steps and yours, and establish them in His purpose. We also claim Jeremiah 29:11 over your family, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And we pray Psalm 147:3 over your home, that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone we have access to the Father and confidence that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 tells us Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister and her boys to Your tender care. Lord, You know the depth of their grief and the weight of this transition. Wrap them in Your comfort, be their daily strength, and let them feel Your nearness as the companion of the brokenhearted. Father to the fatherless, spread Your wings of protection over this home and over these young men as they go out and come in. Provide for every financial need abundantly according to Your riches in glory, grant this mother wisdom to steward well what You entrust to her, and guard her heart from anxiety with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Pour out wisdom, clarity, focus and diligence upon her sons in their studies, open doors for their education that no man can shut, and guide their steps so they may thrive in the calling You have for them. Order their steps, heal their home, and let Your light shine brightly on their path forward, filling every empty place with Your comfort and hope. We trust You for their future, knowing Your thoughts toward them are of peace and not of evil. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We are holding you and your boys in prayer in this first year after your husband's passing. Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly with us. Carrying grief while also carrying the daily weight of parenting and providing is a lot to bear, and we admire the way you are turning to the Lord for strength and protection for your family.

What you described is so understandable. Grief does not follow a neat timeline, and it often looks different for children than for adults. Your boys may have moments when feelings come out strongly and other moments when they seem fine or want to play and be distracted. Both are normal. Having a safe, steady place at home where they can talk, ask questions, or simply be close when they need to can help them reorganize their world slowly over time, just as you are doing.

If it would help, consider taking one small next step together. Perhaps invite a trusted pastor, counselor, or a small grief support group at your church to walk with you in the months ahead, someone who can listen to you and also help you notice how each of your sons is processing the loss. For the financial pressure you mentioned, a pastor or a trusted financial counselor in your church family may also be able to help you think through budgeting and next decisions with wisdom and peace.

Father, we lift this dear mother and her sons to You. Comfort them in their sorrow, guard their home, and give them daily wisdom for each decision. Provide for their needs, steady their hearts with Your peace, and guide the boys in their studies and growth. Lead this family step by step in the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

The Lord who is nigh unto the brokenhearted has heard your prayer, and He who has declared Himself a Father to the fatherless has not forgotten you nor your boys in this season of deep sorrow. When a husband and father is cut down as in a moment and the wife is left a widow and the children fatherless, it seems a bitter cup indeed, and the soul is tempted to ask why the ungodly prosper while the sorrowing children of God drink tears. Yet the Lord has not left you to a shallow sea where dangers abound, but He holds you in the palm of His hand upon the great deep of His providence, and His judgments and His mercies are fathomless.

You have done well to go into the sanctuary of God as Asaph did when his thoughts were too painful for him. There alone the heart understands that God has not forsaken His own. He gave a most express command concerning the widow and the fatherless, that no man should afflict them, and He said, if they cry at all unto Me, I will surely hear their cry. He commanded that in the harvest the sheaf that was forgotten and the gleanings of the corn and the grapes should be left for the widow and the fatherless, to show that His eye is ever upon their need. And as He called a poor widow woman on the border of Sarepta to sustain His prophet, and her barrel of meal wasted not neither did her cruse of oil fail, so He is able to make your inexhaustible barrel and unfailing cruse to supply every need according to His riches. He can choose the most unlikely instruments and raise up help from stones if need be, for all things are at His disposal.

Learn also from the importunate widow who prevailed though she had no promise and no right of constant access, and came to a judge who cared nothing for her. If her importunity won justice from one so unkind, how much more shall you speed with God whose delight it is to take care of His children and who loves them as the apple of His eye. Therefore continue in brief, silent prayer as Nehemiah did, lifting up your heart in the midst of daily care. When the children are troublesome and anxiety presses, now for a brief prayer. When the finances perplex you, now for a brief prayer. He hears the short cry as well as the long pleading.

I pray with you that the Lord will order your steps and heal your home and let His light shine brightly upon your path forward. May He who taught Ephraim to walk take your sons by the arms and teach them to walk in His ways, for He does not chide His children for every mistake but pities them as a father pities his children, and He is married unto His people and hates putting away. May He surround your boys with divine protection, pour out wisdom upon their minds, and grant them clarity, focus and diligence in their studies. Your children need the Spirit of God to give them new hearts, and they are capable of deep piety and of rendering good service even in their youth, for of such is the kingdom of God. May He open doors for their education and anchor their hearts with stability, filling every empty space with His comfort and peace.

May the Lord provide for you tangibly, grant you wisdom to steward what He gives, and remove the spirit of anxiety about the future, for you are still His children, still His children, and He will not leave you nor forsake you. Rest alone in Jesus, confiding in your Father's promise, and know that He beholds you and your children with delight and says, Behold, I and the children which God hath given Me.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Saviour, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer in this season of grief has been heard, and we join you in bringing your family before the Lord who is close to the brokenhearted.

Scripture calls Him the Father of the fatherless and the Judge of the widows, and He takes much care for those who are unprotected. You are not forgotten or unseen. The Scriptures speak often of widows and orphans because God loves them and desires to be called by their name. A widow indeed is one who trusts in God as she ought and continues in prayer night and day, and such trust is blessed. Though the loss is deep and the loneliness is real, this patience endured through fear of God is a crown, and He fills the empty spaces with His own consolation. Know that your tears are not despised. They have great power before God, able to open heaven itself, and He receives them with compassion.

You have asked for daily guidance, protection, and provision, and we pray with you for these things. The Lord knows every need before you speak it. When alms and provision are concerned, Christ showed that it is the disposition of the heart that He requires. Remember the widow who cast in two mites, though she was poor and had only that, she accomplished all that was needed. Though you may feel you have little, even a barley cake offered with faith is enough in His hands. Ask Him to free you from anxiety about the future and to establish you in security and liberty, for things that are not evil in themselves become a burden only through anxious thought. Pray that He will give you wisdom to steward what He provides and to feel His sustaining hand in tangible ways each day.

We lift up your sons with you. We ask the Lord to surround them with His divine protection, to be the anchor of stability in their hearts, and to fill them with His comfort and peace. We pray that He will grant them clarity, focus and diligence in their studies, that they may grow not as children who gape after trifles but as men in understanding, wise and steady. May He open doors for their education and guide their steps so they may succeed and thrive in the fields He has chosen for them, and may He heal your home and order your steps so that His light shines brightly on your path forward.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank You that You hold this mother and her sons in the palm of Your hand. Be their guide and their guard. Provide for their needs abundantly, grant wisdom in stewardship, and remove anxiety, giving peace that rests in Your mercy which is over all the earth. Comfort the widow who trusts in You, strengthen her to continue in prayer, and defend her and her children. Grant the sons protection, wisdom, and diligence, and establish them in Your grace. Heal this home and let Your light lead them forward. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
