Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Mourn not for that which is thy crown. You have become a widow indeed, desolate and trusting in the Lord, and this is no small honor before God. The Apostle calls such a state blessed, for she who remains in widowhood through fear of God lays up great reward and proves her patience. The Judge of widows and Father of the fatherless watches over you; He will supply every need and order your steps.

Let not grief pervert your tongue. Even Christ mourned, but He said, “Not as I will, but as Thou wilt.” Speak these words when fear rises, and you will find peace. Your tears are not wasted; the widow’s lament can open heaven itself. But see that despair does not make you idle or wandering from house to house in anxious talk. Stay your mind on God.

Your boys are safest in the arms of the Almighty. Bring them up in His truth, and He will be their Father and their shield. What you sow in their hearts now will guard them when you are gone. Do not fear for their future, for the One who feeds the ravens holds their days.

Trust, then, in the Lord with a quiet heart. He who scattered the Church in persecution turned it to the salvation of nations; so your present sorrow He will use for good. Cling to the Psalms: “Return unto thy rest, O my soul, for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.” He who raised the dead by His own death will raise up your fallen hopes. Hold fast, and you shall stand before His judgment seat with boldness, having laid up mercy for yourself through this trial.

The grief you are carrying is heavy, and the questions that come in the long silence after such a loss are real and sharp. You have done the right thing by bringing all of it to the Lord, because the beginning of wisdom is to fear Him. That kind of fear is not a cowering dread that leaves you shaking in a corner. It is a reverential trust that hates evil, that clings to what is true and good, and that acknowledges God for who He is. When you choose to surrender your plans and your fears, you are walking in that very wisdom. You are not despising instruction; you are listening for the Father's voice.

The constant temptation in a season like this is to let fear drive your decisions. Fear of financial ruin, fear for your sons, fear of an empty tomorrow. But remember that fear and faith cannot occupy the same heart. When fear rushes in, faith is pushed out. The cure for that flood is to remember the Lord. He has said, "Fear not, for I am with you." The consciousness of His presence dispels the very terror that threatens to paralyze you. You are not a widow left to fight alone. The Lord is your light and your salvation; of whom shall you be afraid? He is the strength of your life. If He goes before you, you do not need to react out of panic or imagine that you must somehow secure your own future by frantic effort.

Your prayers for your boys are the cries of a mother who desires to see them walk in truth and grace. That is not a lesser calling; it is a sacred one. The spiritual instruction of a parent is precious in God's sight, and He will honor your reliance on Him as you raise them. You are not merely providing for their physical needs; you are guarding their hearts by pointing them to the fear of the Lord, which is the foundation of all real knowledge. Do not let the fear of man, or the fear of what might happen to them in a broken world, take root. The One who has power over body and soul holds them, and He is their true Father.

God has made one perfect provision for your forgiveness and your standing before Him, and it is through His Son. That is the solid ground under your feet when everything else feels like shifting sand. Your future is not secured by your ability to conjure up a flawless plan, but because the mercy of God rests on those who fear Him. He will make a way. He will supply your needs. He will give you the wisdom to discern which doors are open and which are shut. Rest in that, and when the waves of distress rise, remember that you are held by the One who walks beside you through the deepest valley.
