Life in Danger

Reumorran

Disciple of Prayer
Being homeless you tend to stick to a familiar area. So we've been living at a plaza out of our car. It's a nice plaza and after a few months we called it home. We decided to pick up the trash and clean up the property. Kind of like caretakers. Anyway, we contacted the property owner and told him we were a ministry (we are) and would like to inquire about the empty unit ### formerly ###. Being diligent we took pictures of the plaza and sent recommendations regarding roof and electrical fixtures etc. The owner FINALLY paid us 30 bucks for fixing a light fixture. But we got "weird" vibes from him. He's in ###. Part of a HUGE real estate asset company. Fails fire inspection on unit ### every year but the ### store still operates three months out of year there. My ### is a ###. He told me it sounds like bribery of local government and that a company that big would have no problems getting rid of the only two people who know for a fact that unit ### of his plaza is not fit for humans to walk around in. The property owner went from avoiding my texts and calls to calling and texting me saying he needs to talk to me but can't write it out. And then weird folks kept coming around our car. We reported this to police. Fire department. Neither cared. Please pray for wisdom and a balance between REAL danger where Psalm 91 kicks in and IMAGINED danger. Thanks in advance! God bless for reading and praying.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting your situation before the throne of grace. The danger you describe is real, and the spiritual warfare surrounding you is palpable. We rebuke every scheme of the enemy aimed at silencing you or bringing harm to you and your spouse. The Lord is your refuge and fortress, and in Him you will find safety.

First, we must address the seriousness of the fire code violations you’ve uncovered. The property owner’s neglect is not only irresponsible but potentially life-threatening. Scripture commands us to care for the vulnerable and to speak out against injustice: "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy" (Proverbs 31:8-9). You have done well to document the violations and report them to the authorities, even if they have failed to act. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you faint not (Galatians 6:9).

The Lord sees your faithfulness in caring for the plaza as caretakers, and He will not forget your labor of love. However, we must caution you about the potential danger you are in. The shift in the owner’s behavior, from avoidance to sudden urgency, along with the strange individuals appearing near your car, is deeply concerning. This is not imagined danger; it is a spiritual and physical threat. "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). We rebuke every demonic assignment against you and declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

We also urge you to seek wisdom in how to proceed. The Lord promises to give wisdom to those who ask: "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him" (James 1:5). Consider reaching out to local churches, Christian legal aid organizations, or ministries that assist the homeless. There may be resources available to help you transition to a safer environment while you continue to advocate for justice. Do not face this alone; the body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).

We pray for you now, believing that the Lord will intervene on your behalf:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother and sister in Christ who are facing real danger. Lord, You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We ask that You surround them with Your angels, protecting them from every evil scheme and physical harm. Give them wisdom to discern the next steps, and courage to stand firm in the face of injustice. Lord, expose the truth of the fire code violations and hold the property owner accountable for his negligence. Provide them with safe shelter and open doors to resources that will help them transition out of this dangerous situation. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and we rebuke every spirit of fear, intimidation, and violence in Jesus’ name. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. We trust You to fight this battle for them, for the battle is Yours. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to cling to the promises of God’s Word. Psalm 91, which you referenced, is a powerful declaration of God’s protection over those who dwell in His shelter. Meditate on it daily, and let it strengthen your heart. You are not forgotten, and the Lord will not abandon you. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ, for He is the only way to true safety and salvation. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). If you have already placed your faith in Him, hold fast to that truth, and let it anchor you in this storm.

We’ve been praying over what you shared, and we want you to know we don’t take it lightly. Living out of a car, trying to serve a place as caretakers, and then feeling that sense of home turn threatening, that’s a heavy weight to carry. The confusion you described between real danger and imagined danger is something we understand more than you might think, and asking for that balance is itself a mark of wisdom.

What we see in your words is that you’ve already done the right things: you reported your concerns to the police and fire department. That took courage, and it creates a record. Even if they didn’t respond the way you hoped, that documentation matters. We’d encourage you to keep a simple log, dates, times, what the owner communicates, any unusual visitors near your car. Not from a place of fear, but as a practical step that helps you stay clear-headed and gives you something concrete if you need to follow up.

The spiritual discernment you’re seeking often works hand in hand with that kind of practical vigilance. God doesn’t ask us to ignore our instincts or to silence the part of us that senses something is off. He gives wisdom to know when to stay, when to speak, and when to quietly move to safer ground.

Lord, you see this couple and the exhaustion behind their words. Give them clear, settled judgment to know what real threats require and what fears they can release to you. Keep them hidden in you when real danger is present, and quiet their minds when anxiety fills in the gaps. Move the authorities to do their jobs well, and give this couple guidance about whether to stay or go. Provide a safe place for them to rest tonight. In Jesus’ name.

There is a path which the vulture’s eye hath not seen, and the lion’s whelp hath not trodden; but it is trodden by the humble believer who keeps to the way of his God. Are you certain that this plaza, this car, this entanglement with a man who walketh in darkness, is that appointed way? I ask not to trouble you, but to stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance. He who travels on the King’s Highway is under the King’s protection, but he who takes to byroads must protect himself, and the probability is that he will meet with robbers. You felt strange tremors before these shadows appeared. That inward uneasiness is often the Spirit’s still small warning. Look well to your standing: if you have moved out of the simplicity of obedience into a self-chosen caretaking that God never ordained, then retrace your steps and leave discovery of the wicked man’s secrets to the Lord. He delivereth from the snare of the fowler, but He does not promise to deliver the presumptuous who stray into forbidden fields.

Yet if, after prayer and searching of heart, you are persuaded that duty holds you there, then let not fear be thy master. Real danger and imagined danger must be split asunder by the hammer of faith. The wicked often put a mask upon their malice, and the timid soul thinks every rustling leaf a footstep. Go to your knees with every trembling thought. Heman cried out of the depths, yet he kept on praying even when no answer seemed to come, and the very next Psalm sings of mercies. Do likewise: pour out the whole case before God, hiding nothing, and then rise to cast that painted terror aside. The shadow of the Almighty is no refuge for a mere visitor who drops in now and then; it is a home for those who dwell. If your love is set upon Him, then you abide there, and beneath you are the everlasting arms, though the earth itself give way.

This much I add concerning the man who would speak with you but dare not write. Wisdom is justified of her children. Deal not with him alone in secret places. Sunlight is the best antiseptic. Let your words be few and your trust in man be less. You have done your duty in reporting what you saw; leave the matter there, for it is not your calling to purge the Augean stable of every corrupt city. God can wither a giant corporation with a single breath, or turn its heart as easily as He turneth the heart of a king. And as for the prowlers about your vehicle, use such prudence as every pilgrim should. Lock your doors, keep your wits awake, and then sleep like the child who knows his father is on guard. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. That promise is not for the proudly self-reliant, but for the trembling hand that clings to the pierced hand of Christ. Now be at peace: the Lord thinketh upon you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
