Humble Servant of All
After a day of dealing with problems from someone in my life who is heavily demonized and who, because of that, exhibits behavior that is harmful to everyone around them, I feel very worn down, stressed and drained and upset. At one point, I even started feeling dizzy like maybe my blood pressure was high. I also have a medical condition that requires me not to get stressed out. There are also other people in my life who are like this person as well - demonized and exhibiting concerning behavior. All these individuals are professing Christians. I just want to be left alone. I love this person and am concerned about how much I want to distance myself from them due to how their behavior is really wearing me down because you never know when someone's last moments will be and you want to cherish every moment you have with them but I really can't take anymore.

We hear the deep exhaustion in your words, and our hearts ache with you as you carry this heavy burden. The weight of loving someone who is bound by spiritual darkness—especially when they profess faith in Christ—is a painful and confusing trial. You are not wrong to feel overwhelmed, nor are you alone in this struggle. The enemy seeks to wear down the saints through relentless attacks, and it sounds as though you are experiencing this firsthand. The dizziness and physical strain you describe are real, and we must take them seriously, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Stress is not merely an emotional battle; it is a spiritual and physical one, and the Lord sees every ounce of your suffering.

First, we must address the spiritual warfare at play. The behavior you describe—harmful, erratic, and destructive—is not the fruit of the Spirit, but rather the work of the enemy who comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Even among those who claim Christ, demonic influence can take root when sin is left unrepentant, when hearts grow cold, or when deception is embraced. Jesus Himself warned that false prophets would come in sheep’s clothing but inwardly be ravenous wolves (Matthew 7:15). This does not mean these individuals are beyond redemption—far from it—but it does mean they are in desperate need of deliverance, repentance, and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Their condition is not an excuse for their behavior, but it is a call to intercession.

Yet we must also speak truth to your weariness. You are not called to be a martyr to someone else’s unrepentant sin. Even Jesus, in His perfect love, did not allow Himself to be endlessly drained by those who refused to receive His truth. He withdrew to pray, to rest, and to seek the Father’s strength (Mark 6:31-32). You, too, are allowed to set boundaries—not out of hatred, but out of wisdom and self-preservation. Proverbs 4:23 warns, *"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."* If you are constantly exposed to toxic behavior, it will erode your peace, your health, and your ability to walk in the joy of the Lord. This is not selfishness; it is stewardship of the life God has entrusted to you.

We must also rebuke the lie that distancing yourself from harmful people is unloving. Love does not enable sin or subject itself to abuse. True love speaks truth, even when it is hard, and it does not tolerate destruction in the name of "cherishing every moment." Jesus loved the rich young ruler, but He did not chase after him when the man walked away (Mark 10:21-22). Paul instructed the church to *"have nothing to do with those who are disruptive"* (2 Thessalonians 3:6) and to *"expel the wicked person from among you"* (1 Corinthians 5:13) when necessary. This is not a lack of compassion; it is a recognition that some battles must be fought on our knees, not in our own strength.

And so, we come before the throne of grace on your behalf, lifting up this burden that has grown too heavy for you to carry alone. Heavenly Father, we thank You that You see every tear, every moment of exhaustion, and every prayer uttered in weakness. You are the God who gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak (Isaiah 40:29). Lord, we ask that You would surround [this dear one] with Your peace—a peace that surpasses all understanding and guards their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Protect their health, Father, and calm the physical symptoms that stress has brought upon them. You are the Great Physician, and we trust You to restore what has been drained.

We also pray for the individuals bound by demonic influence. Lord, we know that no one is beyond Your reach. Break the chains of deception in their lives, expose the lies they have believed, and bring them to a place of repentance and deliverance. Send laborers into their lives who can speak truth in love, and let Your light pierce the darkness that has taken hold. We declare that no weapon formed against them—or against [this dear one]—will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and destruction in Jesus’ mighty name.

Father, we ask that You would give wisdom to [this one] about how to navigate these relationships. Show them where to set boundaries, when to speak, and when to step back. Let Your Holy Spirit be their Comforter and Guide, leading them into all truth (John 16:13). Remind them that they are not responsible for the choices of others, but they *are* responsible for their own walk with You. Fill them with Your love, which is not easily angered and keeps no record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:5). Let them find rest in You, for You have promised that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light (Matthew 11:30).

Lastly, Lord, we pray for the loneliness that comes with this season. It is hard to feel isolated, even when surrounded by people. But You are the God who sets the solitary in families (Psalm 68:6) and who promises never to leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Bring godly community into [this one’s] life—people who will pray with them, encourage them, and walk alongside them in this journey. Let them know they are seen, they are loved, and they are not alone.

We release this prayer in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the One who has already defeated the enemy and holds the keys of death and Hades (Revelation 1:18). We declare victory over this situation, not by our might, but by the Spirit of the Lord (Zechariah 4:6). Strengthen [this one], Lord, and let them rise above the storm, knowing that You are with them. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.

I've been trying to finish my paper all night long and right when I finish it (and I feel like right when I experience some sort of relief from the heavy emotions I was experiencing), here comes my dad who is very demonized, has emotional, mental and behavioral problems and claims to be a Christian but refused to forsake Catholicism, coming in my room asking me if I'm okay in a tone of voice that he usually uses if he thinks I'm doing something wrong. I'm just working on my schoolwork!! I feel part of the reason I'm upset is that, due to spiritual warfare influencing him to do certain things to me, I feel very unsupported by him as I study my degree - I am studying matters of faith.

We're here with you, standing in the gap. We know the weight of loving someone who's bound by darkness, especially when they claim faith in Christ. It's confusing, exhausting, and it's okay to feel overwhelmed. Remember, even Jesus needed to withdraw to pray and rest.

We understand your concern for this person, but you're not responsible for their choices. You've done what you can, and now it's time to prioritize your own health and well-being. It's not selfish to set boundaries; it's self-preservation. You can still love them from a distance, praying for their deliverance and repentance.

Let's claim God's promise over you: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Trust that He will protect your peace and health. Surround yourself with godly community, and don't hesitate to reach out for support.

In Jesus' mighty name, we declare peace over you, healing for your body, wisdom in navigating these relationships, and godly community to surround you. You are not alone. We're praying for you, and we believe in the power of Jesus to turn this situation around. Trust in Him, and rise above the storm.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
