Job opportunity

Disciple of Prayer
I moved to another state a few months ago and have been having trouble with work. I have already had two job jobs with a temp agency and can’t seem to find full-time work. Let alone even get interviews in the state that I live in.. for the most part. It’s not even me or my resume. Just the economy is really bad. When I do get interviews, I do have something old on my record. I am a very social person and I have a great personality and I’m a hard worker. I’m using the money that I saved to maintain my bills, but I need a job. I feel like I’m hitting a wall everywhere I go and like the enemy is closing every door and keeping everything shut tight. I need God’s intervention.. I believe he will help but I’m losing hope and it starts to feel like he doesn’t care, but I know that’s not true. I feel defeated. I spent so much time every day looking for work or out in the heat looking for work. Something’s got to give. I need a breakthrough.

We hear your struggle and frustration, and we want you to know that we are standing with you in prayer, seeking God’s intervention in your situation. The weight of unemployment, especially in a difficult economy, can feel crushing, and the enemy would love nothing more than to steal your hope and convince you that God has abandoned you. But we declare that is a lie. The Word of God tells us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11). Even when circumstances seem impossible, God is working behind the scenes, preparing a way where there seems to be no way.

We also want to acknowledge the burden of having something on your record that may be holding you back. While it’s understandable that this feels like an obstacle, we encourage you not to let shame or fear define your worth. God’s grace is greater than any mistake, and His plans for you are not limited by your past. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). We pray that employers would see your potential, your work ethic, and the person God has called you to be, not just a record.

We must also gently address the doubt that has crept into your heart about God’s care for you. It’s natural to feel this way when we’re weary, but we must combat those lies with truth. "Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). God does care, and He sees every effort you’ve made, every application sent, every step taken in the heat. He has not forgotten you. The enemy wants you to believe that God is silent, but we rebuke that deception in Jesus’ name. God is speaking, through His Word, through answered prayers, and through the peace that surpasses understanding.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up his need for employment. Lord, You are the God who opens doors that no man can shut, and we ask that You would intervene in his job search. Break down every barrier the enemy has placed in his way, whether it’s the economy, his record, or discouragement. Father, we ask that You would connect him with the right employer, one who will see his value, his skills, and his heart for hard work. Provide him with a stable, full-time job that will meet his needs and allow him to thrive.

Lord, we also pray for his heart. Where there is weariness, renew his strength. Where there is doubt, remind him of Your faithfulness. Where there is fear, fill him with Your peace. Help him to trust in Your timing, even when it’s hard. We declare that breakthrough is coming, and we thank You in advance for the provision and favor You are about to release in his life.

We rebuke the spirit of discouragement and hopelessness in Jesus’ name. We declare that the enemy’s plans to keep him stuck will not succeed. Instead, we speak open doors, divine connections, and unexpected opportunities over his life. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for moving on his behalf. We trust You to turn this situation around for Your glory.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to keep pressing forward, even when it feels like nothing is changing. "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up" (Galatians 6:9). God sees your persistence, and He will reward it. In the meantime, lean on Him for strength, and don’t hesitate to reach out to your local church or Christian community for support, they may have leads or resources that could help.

You are not forgotten. You are not defeated. Your breakthrough is coming. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith.

We hear you, and we feel the weight of what you’re carrying. Moving to a new state, burning through savings, facing closed door after closed door, it’s not just a job search, it’s a crisis of loss. You’ve lost the security of steady work, the rhythm of a paycheck, and a piece of your confidence. That kind of strain would wear anyone down, and it makes sense that hope feels thin right now.

What’s helped others in similar seasons is pressing into community, even when it’s hard. A local church isn’t just a place for prayer; it’s often the network where someone knows someone who’s hiring. Many congregations have job support groups or simply members who quietly share leads. Lean on that. And about the old mark on your record, you’re wise to be ready to address it honestly, not as a disqualifier but as part of a story of growth. Some of the best employees we know were given a second chance by a boss who saw their character, not just their history.

While you keep sending out applications in this tough economy, give yourself one day a week to step back and refuel. Do something that reminds you who you are beyond your résumé. It’s not a surrender; it’s how you keep going. God hasn’t stopped seeing your diligent efforts, and every “no” isn’t a rejection from Him. Sometimes a shut door is protection, and the right one will swing open at the right time.

Please pray with us:

Lord Jesus, You see this brother’s exhaustion and his desire to work and provide. Quiet the voice of defeat and let him sense Your nearness tonight. Open a door that no one can shut, full-time, sustainable work that honors his skills. Give him favor with interviewers, wisdom to navigate his past, and a community to walk with him. Restore his hope and stretch his savings until that first paycheck arrives. In Your strong name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your present trial is not a sign that the Lord has deserted you, though it feels that way in the weary hours. The enemy would have you believe every door is shut by God’s own hand in anger, but this is a lie whispered in the dark. You say you feel He does not care, yet you know that is not true. Hold to that slender thread of knowing, for faith often must stand against the howling wind of feeling. I remind you that in all Job’s losses, estate, children, health, he did not charge God foolishly. He tore his robe and fell down and worshipped. That is the triumph of a gracious spirit, and the same God who upheld Job can support you now. Do not let your weary mind frame unbelieving speeches against the Lord, for hopeless words do no good and wound your own soul. You are not beyond the reach of His bow-shot of mercy; the night will not hang forever. The Lord turned again the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. Set yourself to pray for others even in your own need, and you may soon find the doors of provision opening before you.
