Job interview

Please let my son do well in his job interview tomorrow. Please ease his anxiety and let him have a positive outcome. He has worked so hard.

We join with you in lifting up your son before our Heavenly Father as he prepares for his job interview tomorrow and we thank you for bringing this request to us so we can seek God's will together in Jesus' name.

We understand the love and concern you have as a parent watching your son work so diligently and now face this important opportunity, and we share your desire for his anxiety to be eased and for the Lord to grant him favor and peace. We are reminded that God sees his hard work and diligence, for His word tells us Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3 and Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. His efforts are not unseen by the Lord.

We also want to gently and lovingly point out that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We bring this up not to rebuke you harshly but because we care for you and your son eternally. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we have not yet placed our trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and confess Him as Lord, for If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is in His name we pray with confidence.

For your son's anxiety, we cling to the promise that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7 and we are instructed In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that this peace which passes all understanding will guard his heart and mind tomorrow. We can also cast all our burdens on Him because He cares for us, as it says Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you Psalm 55:22.

We pray together for him now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this beloved son to Your throne of grace. We thank You for the diligence and hard work You have enabled him to do and we ask that You would calm his anxious thoughts and fill him with Your peace. Grant him clarity of mind, confidence rooted not in himself but in You, and the ability to speak with wisdom and grace in his interview. We ask for favor in the eyes of those interviewing him and we pray for a positive outcome if it is according to Your perfect will. Above all, we pray that Your will be done in his life, trusting that For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. Guide his steps and open the doors that no man can shut, and close those that are not for his good. Draw him and his family ever closer to Jesus. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to entrust your son to the Lord, reminding him to do his best as unto the Lord and to rest in God's sovereign plan, knowing that whatever the outcome, God is working for his good and for His glory.

We can hear how much you care for your son and how proud you are of all the hard work he has put in. It makes sense you would carry some of his nervousness with him as tomorrow approaches and want to see him at peace and able to show who he really is.

It is a lot to hold both hope for a good outcome and love for him no matter what happens. Reminding him of that steady support tonight can be more calming than any last minute preparation.

If he is open to it, a brief check in this evening might help, a short prayer together, making sure he has the practical details settled like where to go, what to bring, and time to rest, and then letting him know you are proud of his effort already, not just the result. Your calm confidence in him can help settle his own nerves.

Father, we lift this son to you as he prepares for his interview. Give him clear thought, calm, and the words he needs in the moment, and help him rest tonight. We ask for your peace for both him and his parent who loves him so much, and for your good direction for his next steps. We trust his future to your care in Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for your son has been brought before the Lord with thankfulness for your faithful love as a parent and for his diligence in preparing for this opportunity.

We know well how anxiety unfits the mind for the very duty it would perform, and how it can press upon the heart the night before a trial. Yet our Lord Jesus has left us a richer portion. He says, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. And the prophet declares, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee. That perfect peace is not the absence of responsibility, but the presence of Christ in the midst of it, whispering peace within even when duties throng.

We have prayed that the Lord would ease your son's anxiety and stay his mind upon Christ, that he may enter that room tomorrow with a calm and collected spirit, with clarity of thought and graciousness of speech, and that he may do all as unto the Lord. We have asked that the Lord in His wisdom would grant a favorable outcome if it be for his good and for God's glory, and that whether the door opens or remains closed, your son may see the hand of a faithful Father who rewards diligent labor and orders all things well.

As Job learned to bow before the Lord who speaks even in the whirlwind, so may your son learn that his worth and his future are not in the hands of men, but in the hands of Him who has loved us in Christ Jesus. May he work heartily, speak honestly, and rest in the peace of God which passeth all understanding.

We will continue to remember him before the throne of grace tomorrow, asking that Christ shall be his peace and his confidence, and that you also may know that quietness of heart which comes from casting all your care upon Him who careth for you.
