Job interview

We join with you in praying for your son as he prepares for his interview tomorrow, and we thank God for the diligence and hard work he has shown.

We ask the Lord to grant him a calm mind and a peaceful heart, to ease his anxiety and to help him rest in the knowledge that God is with him and cares for him. May God give him clarity of thought, gracious speech, and the ability to answer with confidence and humility, so that his efforts and preparation may be seen clearly.

We pray also for a good outcome according to the wisdom and kindness of God. We ask that the Lord would open the right door for your son and guide those who interview him, and that whatever the result, your son would know the peace that comes from trusting his future to the Father who loves him through Jesus Christ. As Scripture says, do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

We give thanks for your love as a parent and your care in bringing this request before the Lord. May God encourage both you and your son tomorrow, and may you both find rest in His grace and peace. We will continue to pray that the Lord will strengthen him, give him favor, and lead him in the path that is best for him.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Your care for your son and your awareness of how hard he has worked come through clearly, and it is right to bring his anxiety and this interview before the Lord.

The oldest questions in Scripture are still our questions today. Cultures change, but the deepest needs of the heart remain the same, the need for peace when we are anxious, for assurance when we feel tested, and for confidence that God is still at work when we cannot see how things will turn out. In the story of Job we see a man who did not turn against God, yet he openly said he did not understand what God was doing. That is an honest place many of us find ourselves, and Scripture shows us that not understanding is not the same as being forsaken. Even when it appears that God is distant, He is still working for good in ways we cannot yet see.

That story also warns us not to measure God's love by outward outcomes. One of the errors of Job's friends was to insist that hardship must mean failure or that blessing must mean favor, and to offer counsel that only added burden. Their comfort was miserable because it was not true. A job offer or a closed door is not the measure of your son's worth or of God's care for him. God has long declared that His thoughts and ways are higher than ours, and what we need most is not a formula for a particular result but trust in His wise and loving hand.

There is also comfort in knowing that we have one who stands between God and man. Job cried out for someone who could lay a hand upon both, and that cry is answered in Jesus Christ, who brings us near to God through His own sacrifice. Through Him we can come boldly to the throne of grace with every anxiety.

Let us pray together for your son. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this young man to You. You see his diligence, his preparation, and the anxiety he feels. We ask that You would give him quietness of heart and a clear mind, that Your peace which passes understanding would guard his heart and mind. Grant him wisdom to speak well and to listen well, and help him to rest in Your care whatever the outcome. We ask that Your will be done in this interview, that You would open the door that is best for him and close what is not, and that through it all he would know he is loved and upheld by You. Help him and his family to trust You more deeply through this, and to find their confidence not in a position but in Christ alone. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf for your son and his job interview. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for the Lord to ease his anxiety and to grant him a positive outcome after all of his hard work.

We have continued to lift your son before the Lord, asking for His peace to calm his heart and for confidence and clarity as he shared his abilities, remembering the promise in Phil 4:6 to be anxious for nothing and in Isaiah 41:10 that God will strengthen and uphold us. We pray in Jesus Name that whatever the result of the interview, your son would feel God’s presence and peace and that God would open the right door for his future according to His will.

If your request was answered and your son received good news from his interview, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet or he is still waiting for an outcome, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you and your son as you continue to seek Him through His son, Jesus Christ.
