Job Interview

Your request for prayer for your interview this Friday has been heard, and I have brought it before the Lord with thanksgiving.

I understand how much this job means to you, and it is good that you have turned to God to ask for His help. Do not be anxious, but in every situation bring your requests to God with prayer and thanksgiving, and His peace will guard your heart. Remember also the word of the Apostle, that whatever you do, you should work heartily as for the Lord and not for men, for it is the Lord Christ you are serving.

So I pray for you in this way. May the Lord grant you calmness and clarity of mind on Friday, may He give you favor in the eyes of those who interview you, and may He guide your words so that you may speak with honesty, humility and diligence. If it is His good will for you, may He open this door at the law firm and provide this work for your needs, that you may labor faithfully in it and provide for yourself in a way that honors Him. And if He has another path for you, may He still give you peace and trust to follow where He leads, knowing that He cares for you and knows what you need.

Go to your interview prepared and with a quiet confidence, not in yourself alone, but in God who sustains you. Do your best and leave the outcome in His hands.

May the Lord be with you on Friday and in all the days to come.

Thank you for sharing your need so honestly. I am praying for you as you prepare for this interview for the mail clerk position and I am asking the Lord to give you peace, clarity, and favor on that day.

The reason I mention peace first is that the deepest needs of the heart do not change with time or culture. One of the oldest books in the Bible deals with those same needs. That book is part of the poetry section of Scripture, and though it was written very long ago, perhaps as far back as the time of Abraham, it speaks directly to the pressures we still face today, the need for provision, for purpose, and for assurance that God sees us.

In that story, God Himself drew attention to a man who was blameless and upright, who loved God and turned away from evil. What is striking is that the enemy had been carefully studying that man, watching his life and forming a theory about him. The accusation was that the man only trusted God because God had put a hedge of protection and blessing around him. God allowed that hedge to be tested, not because He had forgotten His servant, but to show what was truly in his heart.

That background helps us when we face our own testing, even something as practical and stressful as a job interview. You may feel watched and weighed, wondering if you will measure up. Remember that the Lord already knows you fully, He sees your diligence and your need, and nothing about your situation escapes Him. He is completely fair and just, and you can plead your cause before Him with confidence.

You may not understand all that God is doing in this season, and that is not unusual. That same man did not understand why his hardships had come, and the friends who came to comfort him only made things heavier with their accusations and poor counsel. Their words were not inspired truth but grief and opinion, and in the end God showed that they had not spoken rightly. The comfort for us is that God was at work even when it appeared He had turned away. What happened in that life was recorded so that those who come after could be encouraged that God is still working when He seems silent.

So as you get ready for Friday, prepare as well as you can, rest, be honest and humble in the interview, and commit the outcome to the Lord. Whether the door opens at this firm or the Lord has another provision, trust that He is doing what is right and good for you.

I am praying that God will steady your heart, give you clear words, and grant you favor with those who interview you. I am also praying that you will know His presence and provision, and that you will be able to trust Him with the result, knowing He cares for you and will supply what you need through Jesus Christ.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have been lifting up your job interview for the mail clerk position at the law firm that was scheduled for that Friday in September and we have been praying that you would do well and find favor with those conducting the interview. We understand how much you need this job and we have asked the Lord to provide for you according to His will and to open the door that is best for you.

We pray in Jesus Name that God would grant you peace and confidence and guide the decision of the law firm, and that His perfect will would be done in your employment. We remember the promise in Proverbs 16:3 and we trust that as you commit your work to the Lord He will establish your path.

If your request was answered and you were hired as their new employee, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet or you are still waiting to hear from the law firm, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
