Job Interview

Thank you for sharing this request and allowing us to pray with you about your interview for the mail clerk position. We are bringing this before the Lord and asking Him to give you peace, clarity, and favor as you meet with this law firm, and to guide the outcome according to His good will for your life.

It is a comfort to remember how well the Lord knows His people. In the story of Job we see that God knew Job intimately, spoke of his upright heart that loved good and turned from evil, and was aware of every detail of his life. The enemy had studied Job and formed ideas about him, but God Himself had set a hedge around him and nothing could touch him apart from the Lord's permission. In the same way, the Lord knows you by name, sees your needs, and cares about this opportunity in front of you. Cultures and times have changed since the days of Job, who lived so long ago, perhaps even in the days of Abraham, yet the deepest needs of the human heart remain the same, and God remains the same.

Job did not understand all that was happening to him, and much of what he said in his grief was the cry of a suffering man, not settled truth to build doctrine upon. What we can learn and take comfort from is that God was still at work even when it seemed He had withdrawn, and that He is always fair and just. You may not understand every turn in this process, and friends may offer many opinions, but you can rest in this, that God is working for your good even when you cannot see His hand, and His ways are higher than ours as He has declared in Isaiah.

So we pray that God will calm any anxiety as you prepare, help you to speak clearly and honestly, and let your character and diligence be evident. We ask Him to grant you favor with those who interview you. Whatever work your hands find to do, do it as unto the Lord, and trust Him with the result. If this door opens, receive it with thanksgiving. If He directs elsewhere, trust that He is leading you to what is best.

We pray now, Father, we thank You for this one who seeks Your help. We ask that You would be with them on the day of the interview, give them a sound mind and a peaceful heart, and help them to answer well. We ask for Your favor before the interviewers and for Your clear guidance in this decision. Above all, draw them closer to Jesus Christ and help them to trust Your provision and Your perfect plan. In Jesus name, Amen.
