Job Interview

Beloved of All
I interviewed for an ### back on ###. Pray that I get hired for this position and those who will decide will offer and hiring me. I pray that they do. Thank you and God Bless.

We lift this situation before the Lord with hearts full of faith, trusting in His perfect will and timing. Father, we come before You knowing that every good and perfect gift comes from You, including the work of our hands and the opportunities You place before us. We ask that You open the door for this job opportunity according to Your will. If it is Your plan for this position to be filled by our brother or sister, we pray that those making the decision would see the value, skills, and godly character You have placed within them. May Your favor rest upon them as they wait for an answer, and may Your peace guard their heart in this time of uncertainty.

We are reminded of Your Word in Proverbs 16:3, which says, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." Lord, we commit this job search into Your hands, asking that Your will be done. If this position is not part of Your plan, we trust that You have something even better prepared. Help them to rest in the truth of Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."

We also encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in all things, not just in the outcome of this interview. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Whether this job comes through or not, may your work always be a testimony to Your glory.

Father, we ask that You would guide their steps and give them patience as they wait. Strengthen their faith and remind them that You are their Provider. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who holds all things together and through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. Amen.

Waiting for an answer after an interview can feel like a long, quiet stretch. We know how easy it is for the mind to replay every question and wonder what the decision-makers are thinking. So we want to sit with you in that space right now, not rushing past it. You’ve done what you could, you prepared, you showed up, you put yourself out there. That takes courage. Now the waiting itself is part of the journey, and you don’t have to carry it alone.

We’re praying that the right doors open for you, the position where your skills and heart will truly fit and where you can provide for yourself and those you love. We ask God for favor, yes, but even more for his steady peace to settle your heart while you wait. He knows your needs and your willingness to work, and he is not indifferent to them.

Father, thank you for the opportunity this job represents. Please guide those making the hiring decision; give them wisdom and clarity. And in the meantime, quiet any anxious thoughts and replace them with a deep trust that you see the whole picture. Provide for every financial and practical need today, and open the next right step, whether this job or something you have already prepared. We place this in your hands and ask for your will to be done, with your goodness leading the way. In Jesus’ name, amen.

If then you have built your nest on high, reckon not too surely that you shall die in your nest, for the axe may fell the tree and bring it down at an untimely date. The things which are seen are shadows, the things invisible are the only substances. Reckon, then, at their fit price, this transient glory of wealth, health, or fame. Lay up treasure where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and seek for stability in other things than these.

It should not be our ambition to go through the world without sadness of heart. Adversity, however it may appear to be our foe, is our true friend and, after a little acquaintance with it, we receive it as a precious thing, the prophecy of a coming joy.

When others despair, he trusts in God. When he has nowhere else to look, he turns to his heavenly Father. And when, for a time, even in looking to God, he does not meet with conscious comfort, he waits in the patience of hope, calmly expecting aid and resolving that even if it does not come, he will cling to God with all the energy of his soul. Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.

The Lord turned again the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends. Intercessory prayer was the omen of his returning greatness. It was the bow in the cloud, the dove bearing the olive branch, the voice of the turtle announcing the coming summer. When his soul began to expand itself in holy and loving prayer for his erring brethren, then the heart of God showed itself to him by returning to him his prosperity without, and cheering his soul within. I would encourage you to enlist in this exercise, and to undertake and persevere in the exercise of intercession for others.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You pray to be hired for this position, and that those who decide will offer it to you. But consider: when the centurion sought healing for his servant, the Lord did not merely grant the request but offered to come to his house, showing that He often gives more than we ask, yet in His own way and time. Do not fix your heart so narrowly on this one outcome that you forget the greater gift He desires to give you: a soul purged of anxiety, and trust in His providence. If He sees fit to open this door, give thanks; if not, be sure He has not withheld what is truly good.

The art of a merciful heart is to stand before Him not demanding but entreating, for when we extort mercy by our own rigid will, we wound that very intercessor. Seek first His righteousness, and do not pervert justice by weighing your worth on a decision of men. The householder went out at all hours to hire laborers, and the last received the same wage as the first; so God’s provision is not bound by human schedules. Go, then, and do your work as unto Him, whether employed here or elsewhere, and He will give you the wage that never perishes.

This is a faithful saying, worthy of all acceptance: Christ came into the world to save sinners, and if He has given you Himself, will He not with Him freely give you all things? Let your request be made known with thanksgiving, and then leave the issue in His hands.

I have lifted up your request for this position before the Lord, asking that His hand would be with you and with those making the decision. It is right to bring every practical need to Him, because He cares for you.

At the same time, remember that our prayers are not a formula that compels a certain outcome. That is a lesson the book of Job presses deeply into our lives. Job’s friends were certain that blessing always follows righteousness and suffering always follows hidden sin. They assumed if things went well, you were right with God; if calamity struck, you had some secret fault. Much of our anxiety in moments like this rises from that same wrong assumption. We tell ourselves, “If I have done everything properly, God owes me this open door.” But the whole story of Job stands to correct that. Job was upright, yet God permitted a trial he did not understand, because there was a purpose in heaven Job never saw. We are not told the full reasons for every closed door or disappointing season, but we are assured that none of it means God has abandoned us or is paying us back for some sin. Christ has already borne the judgment for our sin, so what comes to us now is not punishment but training.

I also see in your words the same longing Job expressed: “Oh that there were a daysman, one who could lay his hand on both of us and bring us together.” In other words, Job wanted a mediator to represent him perfectly before God. We have that mediator in Jesus. He stands between your need and the Father’s wise will. He knows your desires, and He knows what is truly good. Because He is for you, you can entrust the outcome to Him without fear. If the job is given to you, it will be His provision. If it is not, that will not be a sign that He has turned His face from you. His purposes run deeper than a single interview, and He is able to weave even hidden disappointments into a story of lasting good.

I pray that you will experience the peace that comes from committing this entirely to Him. Go ahead and hope, and continue to ask with thanksgiving, but hold the result lightly. Do not let the enemy whisper that your worth or God’s favor hangs on a hiring decision. The Lord’s delight in you was settled at the cross, not in a conference room. Walk into that remembrance, and let your heart rest in His faithful character, whatever answer He gives.
