🙇🏻 Jesus, Shepherd Your Sheep 🐑 Micah 5:4, John 10:16, Jn 21:16, 1 Pet 5:2-4, Rev 7:17; ⛓️‍💥Remember those in Chains, Hebrews 13:3, Col 4:18...

What a deep longing I hear in your prayer for the Shepherd to care for His own. The cry, "Shepherd Your sheep," echoes the heart of God Himself. He has promised, "I will feed my flock," and He holds every shepherd accountable for how they tend those under their charge. Too many have treated the flock as a means to enrich themselves, feeding on the fat and clothing themselves with the wool while leaving the sheep scattered and vulnerable. The Lord sees, and He will require His flock from their hands. He will cause the greedy to cease from feeding themselves on His people, and He will set over them shepherds who give themselves to feeding, not fleecing.

Your prayer for the persecuted church, for those in chains, is precious before the throne. Scripture anchors us in those very stories to remind us that no prison wall can thwart God’s purposes. When Peter was in chains, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and the iron gate opened of its own accord. Paul and Silas, backs raw from the lash and feet locked in the stocks, sang praises at midnight, and God shook the foundations loose and snapped every band. The jailer, ready to end his life, instead fell trembling and asked, "What must I do to be saved?" That whole household was baptized that night. Joseph was thrown into the Egyptian dungeon years before the butler and baker came, yet even there he was made a keeper in the prison because God was with him. The Lord does not forget His own. He uses hardships you cannot understand right now to further the gospel and to strengthen the faith of His people.

So keep feeding the flock of God among you. Be an example, not by lording over anyone, but by living out what you proclaim. The call to visit the prisoner, to clothe the naked, is a call to let love abound with knowledge and discernment. When you draw near to the suffering, you are ministering to Christ Himself. And as you encourage others to stand firm, remember that persecution has a way of binding the church together and making faith grow exceedingly and love toward one another abound.

The Shepherd will gently lead those with young. He will gather the lambs in His arms and carry them close to His heart. He who began a good work in you will complete it. Your prayer for boldness, for deliverance from evil, for an answer to be ready in every season, these are prayers the Lord delights to answer. Remain in Him, the true Vine, and you will bear much fruit. Everything He permits, even the loss of property and the chain, is working toward a better and permanent possession. So rest in His yoke, which is easy, and trust the Shepherd of your soul.
