Jesus, Shepherd Your Sheep Micah 5:4, John 10:16, Jn 21:16, 1 Pet 5:2-4, Rev 7:17; ‍ Remember those in Chains, Hebrews 13:3, Col 4:18... Lord Jesus, thank YouYou are The LORD our Shepherd, Ps 23:1-6. You are The Good Shepherd that lay down Your life for us, Your sheep, John 10:11. Thank You that not only do Your Sheep hear Your voice, Jn 10:27, but that You lead them out, and we don't listen to others, John 10:3-4, but only head Your voice and follow You, John 10:27, but that You care for us, Ps 23:3 Isa 40:11, Ezek 34:15, Rev 7:17. Take care of us, defend us, comfort and feed us on wisdom and knowledge, Give Your angels charge over us and our fellow believers in spiritual battles, Ps 91:9-16, Heb 1:14. Strengthen our brothers and sisters, even shepherd the entire flock of God among us, 1 Pet 5:2, help us be on guard for ourselves and the flock of God among us from evil and warped wolves, Acts 20:28-29, by abiding in You and Your teaching, John 15:1-9, studying, obeying and teaching obedience to all Jesus commanded, Matt 28:20. Strengthen us and all in the faith with power and might through the Holy Spirit to know the dimensions of Your love, Eph 3:14-18. Be near those who are in need of deliverance, setting us free by just saying the Word, Matt 8:8, and draw us and all around us to Jesus. Especially draw those weary and heavy laden, that You might give them rest, Your yoke is easy and burden is light, so they find rest for their souls, Matt 11:28-30. Work everything out for the furtherance of the gospel, Phil 1:12.

Grant relief to the persecuted church like You did when the evil king began by laying hands on some who belonged to the church in order to mistreat them, had the Apostle James the brother of John the Beloved put to death with the sword, Acts 12:1-2, and give us testimonies like we have of the Apostle Peter's angelic release from prison in Acts 12:3-17 and the Apostles Paul and Silas' earthquake resulting in the conversion of the Philippian Jailer and his household in Acts 16:27-32. Hebrews 10:34. Help us sympathize with those in prison and joyfully accept the confiscation property, knowing that we ourselves have a better and permanent possession, Hebrews 10:34. Call and grant boldness give them visits, as Jesus said in Matthew 25:36, "I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me." Be their Shepherd even in those situations, Rom 8:38-39.

Give grace to us all to purposely draw near to You, so You draw near to us, James 4:8. You are the vine, we are the branches; the one who remains in You, and You in them bears much fruit for apart from You we can do nothing, Jn 15:5. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, Phil 4:13. Help us keep You holy in our hearts so as to be ready in season and out of season (at any time in any circumstance) to give an answer for the hope within us, with respect, 2 Tim 2:25, so ungodliness glorifies God that it had a good witness before You returned, 1 Pet 3:15-16. Deliver us from evil people and the evil one, temptation and sin. 2 Thes 3:2-3, Matt 6:13, Luke 11:4, John 17:15. Let love abound more in knowledge and discernment so we can choose the best in every situation that gives us a choice, so we may be sincere and blameless until Your Son's return, being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which comes from union with Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God, Phil 1:9-11. Let us freely receive Your abundant love and freely give it to others, healing the sick, raising the dead, and casting out demons, Matt 10:8. Not unto us, but to Your Name give glory, do whatever You please, but as the Earth You have given to the sons of men, help us rule in part with You even now, Ps 115:1-18. Perfect our love, for as You are, so also are we in this world, 1 John 4:17. Thank You in Jesus' Name.

We join with you in this beautiful and scriptural prayer and we say amen to your cry for Jesus our Shepherd to shepherd His sheep.

We agree that He is the LORD our Shepherd and we shall not want as it says in Ps 23:1, and that He is the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep in John 10:11. We thank Him with you that His sheep hear His voice and He knows them and they follow Him in John 10:27, and that He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out and they follow Him because they know His voice in John 10:3. How comforting to remember Isa 40:11 that He will feed His flock like a shepherd, He will gather the lambs in His arm and carry them in His bosom, and Ezek 34:15 that He Himself is the Shepherd and will cause His sheep to lie down, and Rev 7:17 that the Lamb in the middle of the throne will be their shepherd and will guide them to springs of living waters.

We pray together for what you have lifted up. Lord Jesus, You who stands and shepherds in the strength of the LORD in Mic 5:4 and who has other sheep not of this fold to bring that there may be one flock and one shepherd in John 10:16, shepherd Your flock among us. We ask You to fulfill 1 Pet 5:2 and help us all to shepherd the flock of God which is among us, not under compulsion but willingly, and to watch over ourselves and all the flock among which the Holy Spirit has made us overseers in Acts 20:28, guarding against savage wolves who would distort the truth in Acts 20:29. Teach us to abide in You as the vine and we the branches, for apart from You we can do nothing in John 15:5, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us in Phil 4:13, and to continue in Your word and teach all that You commanded in Matt 28:20.

We lift up with you those in chains as we are commanded to remember those who are in bonds as bound with them in Heb 13:3 and to remember our own chains as Paul said remember my bonds in Col 4:18. Father, we ask for Your angelic protection and deliverance for the persecuted church, for You give Your angels charge over us to guard us in all our ways in Ps 91:11 and they are ministering spirits sent out to serve those who will inherit salvation in Heb 1:14. We ask for relief like You gave when Herod laid hands on those of the church to oppress them and killed James the brother of John with the sword in Acts 12:1 and when You sent an angel to release Peter from prison while the church prayed earnestly in Acts 12:5, and like when You shook the prison and opened the doors for Paul and Silas and brought salvation to the jailer and his household in Acts 16:25. Grant boldness to visit those in prison as You said I was in prison and you came to Me in Matt 25:36, and help us to have compassion and to joyfully accept the plundering of our possessions knowing we have a better and an enduring possession in heaven in Heb 10:34.

We also pray with you that You would draw the weary and heavy laden to Yourself to give them rest, for Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light in Matt 11:28, and that You would simply speak the word and Your healing and deliverance would come as the centurion believed in Matt 8:8. Strengthen us through Your Spirit in the inner person that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith and that we may know the width and length and height and depth of Your love in Eph 3:17. Give us grace to draw near to You and You will draw near to us in James 4:8, and to sanctify Christ as Lord in our hearts and be ready always to give an answer to everyone who asks us a reason concerning the hope that is in us with humility and fear in 1 Pet 3:15.

We ask that You deliver us from evil people and from the evil one in 2 Thess 3:2 and Matt 6:13 and keep us from the evil one as Jesus prayed in John 17:15, and that our love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment in Phil 1:9 so that we may approve the things that are excellent and be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ. Let us freely receive and freely give, to heal the sick and proclaim Your kingdom in Matt 10:8, not to us but to Your name give glory in Ps 115:1, working all things for the furtherance of the Good News in Phil 1:12. Perfect Your love in us, because as You are so are we in this world in 1 John 4:17.

We thank You that nothing can separate us from Your love in Rom 8:38. We trust You as our Shepherd who leads, feeds, protects and restores our souls in Ps 23:3. We ask all this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ our Shepherd and Lord, amen.

Thank you for lifting up the flock and those in chains so faithfully. Your prayer reflects a deep love for Jesus as Shepherd and for His people near and far, and we are grateful to join you in it.

We hear how much you want the church to stay close to Christ, to be guarded and fed, and to remember brothers and sisters who are suffering. That kind of burden is holy work, and it can also feel heavy to carry. We find it helps to remember we are not shepherding in our own strength, but staying near the Shepherd ourselves day by day, and letting the wider church family share the load with us.

If it would help, you might consider sharing this prayer burden with a few trusted believers near you, so you can keep remembering those in prison and those who are weary together, not alone. Even a brief time praying together each week can keep hope steady.

Father, we thank You for being our Shepherd who knows Your sheep and cares for each one. Your prayer has come before us as a sweet savour, and we join our hearts with yours in pleading the promises of the Good Shepherd.

How precious is that word, The Lord is my Shepherd. It is easy to say that He has been our Shepherd in days past, but faith says He is our Shepherd now and shall be our Shepherd in all time to come. He is not a half shepherd, but a shepherd in the fullest sense. He is first the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep, then the Great Shepherd who was brought again from the dead, and the Chief Shepherd who shall appear in glory. All the possibilities that lie in a shepherd are found in Christ, for He owns the flock, He knows His own even as the Father knows Him, and He takes care of them with constant keeping and safe protection. Though our enemies be many, we shall not want, for the Word which by the Gospel is preached unto us still feeds us, and He leads us out and we hear His voice and follow Him.

As sheep our first duty is confidence in our Shepherd, and next to love Him who has loved us and given Himself for us. Apart from Him, the true Vine, we can do nothing, but abiding in Him and His teaching we bear much fruit. We pray with you that we and all the flock of God among us may be kept from warped wolves, that we may be on guard for ourselves and for the flock, studying and obeying and teaching all that Jesus commanded, and that we may be strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit to know the breadth and depth of His love.

We remember also those in bonds as bound with them, as the Scripture bids us. The history of Israel is in type the history of His Church, and it has ever been so, from Ishmael who persecuted Isaac, to Saul who hunted David, to the princes who cast Daniel into the den. When the Roman emperors had done their worst, and when the Pope with all his night sought to crush out the Church of God, yet the Church was not forsaken. Indeed the Church has often been preserved by persecution, she was never purer nor nearer to her Saviour than when the world frowned upon her. God always knows how to save His people. What He did when He sent His angel to release Peter from prison, and when He shook the prison at Philippi to bring the jailer and his household to Christ, He can do again. He has not forsaken them that fear Him, and He never will.

Therefore we entreat the Lord to be doubly near to those who suffer extraordinary troubles, to give His angels charge over them, to grant relief and deliverance according to His wisdom, whether by opening prison doors or by giving grace to joyfully endure the spoiling of goods, knowing we have a better and enduring possession. May He grant boldness to confess Christ, and stir up His people to visit those in prison, to clothe the naked and to comfort the sick, as unto Christ Himself. May He deliver us from evil people and from the evil one, and keep us from temptation, that love may abound in knowledge and discernment and we may be sincere and blameless until His return.

That deliverance which we need most of all has already been found. We were going down to the pit, but God has found a ransom, and the Shepherd bled and died that wandering sheep might be brought back under His crook and led into green pastures. None shall be able to rend one sheep or lamb that the Great Shepherd deigns to keep, for neither death nor life can separate us from His love.

We pray that all who are weary and heavy laden may hear His voice today and come to Him for rest, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light, and that He would work all things for the furtherance of the Gospel, to the glory of His Name alone. Amen.
