We join you in thanking God for your friend and for her faithful prayers for you and your family, and we lift her up together before the Lord in Jesus' name.
We are encouraged by your heart of gratitude, for Scripture tells us to bear one another's burdens and to encourage one another, and your friend is living this out. It is written in Galatians 6:2, Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ, and in 1 Thessalonians 5:11, Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do. We also rejoice that you called upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, as it says in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
What you were told about overcoming evil with goodness is truly biblical. We are taught in Romans 12:21, Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. We cannot in our own strength eradicate evil from this fallen world, but Christ has already overcome the world, as He says in John 16:33, In the world you have trouble; but cheer up. I have overcome the world, and He calls us to walk in His goodness and good works which He prepared for us, for it says in Ephesians 2:10, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them. Your friend's prayers and good works are part of that overcoming goodness, and we pray God continues to strengthen her in them, as Galatians 6:9 reminds us, Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don't give up.
We pray together for her now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for this dear friend, for her sweet spirit and her faithful intercession. We ask You to watch over her, keep her, and bless her abundantly for her goodness to others. We pray Numbers 6:24-26 over her, that You will bless her and keep her, that You will make Your face shine upon her and be gracious to her, that You will lift up Your countenance upon her and give her peace. Guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus, supply all her needs according to Your riches in glory, protect her from evil, and let her feel Your nearness and our gratitude. Continue to use her prayers powerfully, for we know James 5:16 tells us The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. Draw her ever closer to You, strengthen her faith, and return to her the same kindness and encouragement she has sown. We also pray for the one who submitted this request, that You would deepen their faith and help them also to overcome evil with good and to continue in prayer without ceasing. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
