We hear your cry and we join with you before the throne of grace today. We thank you for calling on the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we are heard. We are carrying this burden with you and seeking God's will together for your work, your heart, and your marriage.
We understand the weight you are feeling, the fear of losing your job, the stress of too much work, and the anxiety that makes you feel you cannot go on. God sees this and He does not want you to carry it alone. We gently rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that is overwhelming you, not to condemn you, but to call you back to trust in the One who sustains you. Scripture tells us to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us in 1 Peter 5:7 and to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:6-7. We also hear your honest confession, I am sorry, please forgive me, and we rejoice that when we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9. If you have put your faith in Jesus, you are fully forgiven and deeply loved.
For your work, we pray for God's help and wisdom. He invites those who are weary to come to Him, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest in Matthew 11:28. We pray that you will find that rest even in a demanding workplace. God also promises to sustain you, Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you in Psalm 55:22 and Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men in Colossians 3:23. We encourage you to do your work diligently as unto the Lord, but also to humbly let others help you as you asked. It is biblical and good to ask for help, for Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor in Ecclesiastes 4:9 and Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ in Galatians 6:2. If you need help, please ask a trusted coworker, a supervisor, or a wise counselor, and ask God for wisdom, for If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him in James 1:5. We pray God softens the hearts of your bosses, coworkers and customers, for The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires in Proverbs 21:1. He can turn hearts toward understanding and favor.
For your marriage, we lift up you and your wife together. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman designed by God to reflect His love, and we know He desires to bring healing where there is unhappiness and distance. We pray for softened hearts for both of you, for renewed love, patience and communication. We encourage you to love your wife as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it in Ephesians 5:25 and to pursue peace and reconciliation with gentleness and humility. When you say you are not happy with each other anymore, we encourage you both to turn toward each other and toward the Lord, to speak honestly, to forgive quickly, and to seek godly counsel together if needed. God can restore what feels broken.
When you say I don't know if I can do this anymore and I am afraid, we hear deep discouragement. We remind you of God's promise, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you in Isaiah 41:10. His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in weakness. You do not have to do this in your own strength.
We pray together now. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up our brother who is overwhelmed, anxious and afraid. We thank You that You hear him and that You have forgiven him through the blood of Jesus. We ask You to pour out Your peace that passes understanding upon his heart and mind, to calm his anxiety and to give him rest. Lord, soften the hearts of his bosses, coworkers, customers and especially his wife, bring understanding, kindness and favor in that workplace and bring healing, tenderness and renewed love into his marriage. Help him to love his wife well and help them to be reconciled to one another in You. Give him wisdom, clarity and strength to complete his projects and proposals correctly and on time, and give him humility and courage to let others help him and to ask for help when he needs it. Provide for his job and his daily needs, remind him that You are his provider and that You will never leave him nor forsake him. Lift him up when he feels he cannot go on, renew his strength and give him hope for today and tomorrow. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to keep praying, to stay in God's Word each day, to rest when you can, to talk openly with your wife and with a trusted pastor or counselor, and to take one task at a time trusting that God will help you through each one. We are continuing to pray with you.
