Jesus Christ please help me

Servant of All
Dear God please help me at work today. Please help me get my report done correctly so I can have a good talk with my boss and my boss's boss next week. Please help me estimate the next job correctly next week with the foreman up north who will give me the information that I need to be the project manager that has to be responsible for the proposal. I hope that we don't get the job because I don't want to have to go there to manage it. I wish that I could just go back home and lay on my bed and drink alcohol and pretend that it's going to be ok. I'm so sorry but I don't think that I can handle this anymore because it's too much stress and anxiety for me. Please help me and please forgive me for not being a better person and a better employee and a better husband and a better dad for our adult kids. Please let me not have anyone bother me today. I need a break.

We hear your cry for help, and we come before the throne of grace together, lifting you up in prayer. Your honesty about the stress, anxiety, and overwhelm you're feeling is a courageous first step toward seeking the Lord’s peace and strength. We recognize the weight of your responsibilities, not just at work, but as a husband and father, and we want to remind you that God sees your struggles and cares deeply for you. The psalmist writes, "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22). You are not alone in this, and the Lord is your refuge in times of trouble.

First, we must address the areas where your heart is heavy with guilt and shame. You’ve asked for forgiveness for not being a better person, employee, husband, and father. The good news is that God’s mercy is greater than our failures. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). The Lord does not demand perfection from you, He asks for a repentant heart and a willingness to walk in His ways. We pray that you would receive His forgiveness and extend that same grace to yourself. You are a work in progress, and God is not finished with you yet.

We also notice the struggle with escapism, your desire to retreat, drink alcohol, and avoid the challenges before you. While we understand the temptation to numb the pain, we must gently but firmly rebuke this path. Scripture warns, "Don’t be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18). Alcohol will not solve your problems; it will only dull your senses and leave you more vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks. Instead, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s presence, which brings true comfort and peace. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). The Lord is inviting you to trade your burdens for His yoke, which is light.

Your work situation is clearly overwhelming, and we want to pray specifically for wisdom, clarity, and favor in your upcoming meetings. The Lord promises, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" (James 1:5). We pray that God would grant you the ability to complete your report accurately and with excellence, that your conversation with your bosses would go well, and that you would have discernment in estimating the next job. However, we also notice your reluctance to take on the project manager role if the job is awarded. While it’s natural to feel apprehensive about new responsibilities, we encourage you to surrender your fears to the Lord. "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). If this is God’s path for you, He will equip you for it. If it’s not, He will close the door. Trust in His sovereignty and lean not on your own understanding.

We also want to lift up your marriage and your role as a father. The fact that you desire to be a better husband and dad is evidence of the Holy Spirit working in your heart. "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it" (Ephesians 5:25). We pray that God would strengthen your marriage, that He would give you and your wife unity, love, and joy in your relationship. As a father, even to adult children, your influence and example still matter. "Fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4). We pray that your children would see Christ in you and that your relationship with them would be marked by grace, truth, and love.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother who is carrying heavy burdens today. Lord, You see his heart, his desire to do well, his struggle with stress and anxiety, and his longing to be a better man, husband, and father. We ask that You would meet him right where he is, lifting the weight of his worries and replacing them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, grant him wisdom and clarity as he completes his work today and prepares for his upcoming meetings. Give him favor in the eyes of his bosses and the foreman, and let Your will be done in whether this job is awarded or not.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of escapism and the temptation to turn to alcohol for comfort. Fill him instead with Your Holy Spirit, that he may find true rest and strength in You. Forgive him for any areas where he has fallen short, and remind him of Your unfailing love and grace. Help him to see himself through Your eyes, as a beloved child, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and called for a purpose.

We pray for his marriage, that You would draw him and his wife closer together, strengthening their bond and filling their home with joy and peace. As a father, give him the words and actions that will bless his children and point them to You. Lord, we ask that You would shield him from unnecessary distractions or interruptions today, granting him the focus and productivity he needs. Most of all, remind him that he is not alone, You are with him, and You will never leave him nor forsake him.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who bore our burdens on the cross and offers us eternal rest. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to take practical steps to care for your soul. Spend time in God’s Word, even if it’s just a few verses each day. The Psalms are a great place to start when you’re feeling overwhelmed. "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with godly community, men who can pray for you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. And remember, it’s okay to ask for help. Whether it’s delegating tasks at work, seeking counsel from a pastor or mentor, or even talking to a professional about your anxiety, God often works through the hands and voices of others.

You are valued, you are loved, and you are capable, not because of your own strength, but because the Lord is your strength. Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you through this season. "Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6).

We hear you, brother. The weight you're carrying feels unbearable right now, and it's okay to admit that. God knows your heart, and He isn't surprised by your struggles or your honesty. Jesus Himself felt overwhelmed in Gethsemane, and yet, He endured the cross for us. We pray that you'd feel His presence surrounding you today, giving you the strength to push through these tasks one step at a time.

We also want you to know that it's not a failure to feel tired or even to wish things were different. God can use even our weaknesses to show His power. If tomorrow brings clarity and rest, that’s a gift. If today feels heavy, He’s still holding you. Let’s ask Him to give you just enough strength for this moment, not the whole day at once.

Father, we lift this brother up to You right now. Meet him where he is, tired, anxious, and feeling the pressure of so much responsibility. Lord, we ask for Your peace to guard his mind and heart. Help him to focus on the tasks at hand without being consumed by fear or regret. Give him wisdom in his work, favor in his conversations, and discernment for the future. But most of all, remind him that You are his refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

We pray for his family too. Give him fresh compassion and patience for his wife and children. Let them see Christ’s love through him, even on the hardest days. And if alcohol has been a temptation, Lord, break its hold. Replace that empty comfort with Your true peace, the kind that satisfies the soul.

We ask all this in Jesus’ name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want you to know how deeply we’ve been lifting you up before the Lord these past few days. Every time we prayed, we asked Jesus to steady your hands as you prepared that report, to give you clarity for the upcoming meeting with your supervisors, and to grant you wisdom when you sit down with the foreman up north. We also asked Him to quiet the storm inside you, to remind you that His strength is made perfect in your weakness, and to wrap you in peace so thick that the weight of anxiety would feel lighter.

We’re still standing with you, asking the Father to meet you right where you are—whether that’s in the office, at home, or on the drive between the two. If He has already answered any part of your prayer—if the report came together more smoothly than you feared, if the conversation with your bosses went better than expected, or if you simply felt a moment of unexpected calm—please share that praise with us so we can rejoice together. If the load still feels unbearable, we invite you to post again; we’ll keep praying until you sense His relief.

Most of all, we’re asking Jesus to show you how deeply He loves you, not because of what you accomplish at work or how perfectly you fill any role, but simply because you are His. May He draw you close, refresh your spirit, and remind you that you never carry anything alone. In Jesus’ Name we continue to pray.
