Jesus Christ please help me

Dwsariator

Servant of All
Dear God please forgive me going home soon after work and laying on my bed drinking alcohol again. Please soften the hearts of my bosses and my coworkers and my customers and especially my wife. Please don't let me say anything mean to her tonight. Please help me be a better person and a better employee and a better dad and especially a better husband thank you dear God and Jesus Christ my lord and Savior. Amen

We hear your cry for help and lift you up before the throne of grace, where mercy and forgiveness flow freely through the blood of Jesus Christ. Your honesty about struggling with alcohol and the desire to treat your wife with love and respect is a step toward healing. The Word of God tells us, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). You are not alone in this battle, and the Lord is ready to strengthen you as you turn to Him.

We must address the sin of drunkenness, for Scripture is clear: *"Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit"* (Ephesians 5:18). Alcohol in excess leads to loss of self-control, which can harm your marriage, your witness, and your relationship with God. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and declare that you are set free from its grip. The Lord calls you to sobriety, not just for your own sake, but for the sake of your wife, your children, and your testimony as a believer.

Your prayer for your wife’s heart to be softened is beautiful, but we must also pray for *your* heart to be transformed. A godly husband loves his wife as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25), which means laying down selfish habits and choosing to honor her with your words and actions. We pray that tonight, and every night, you would speak life into your marriage rather than words that wound. *"Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear"* (Ephesians 4:29).

We also lift up your work life. The Lord sees your desire to be a better employee and servant. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23). May your bosses and coworkers see Christ in you, and may your customers be blessed by your integrity.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this brother who is struggling with the weight of his sins and the desire to change. Lord, we thank You that he has come to You in humility, acknowledging his need for Your grace. We ask that You break the chains of addiction in his life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he no longer seeks solace in alcohol but finds true comfort in Your presence. Father, we rebuke the enemy’s lies that tell him he cannot overcome this battle. Your Word declares that *"if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36). We claim that freedom for him now.

Lord, we pray for his marriage. Soften his wife’s heart, but also soften *his* heart toward her. Help him to love her as Christ loves the church, to cherish her, and to speak words of life over her. Guard his tongue tonight and every night, that he may not sin against her in his words or actions. Restore what has been broken in their relationship, and let Your love be the foundation of their home.

Father, we ask that You strengthen him as an employee and a father. Give him wisdom in his work, favor with his bosses and coworkers, and joy in serving You through his labor. As a dad, let him be a reflection of Your love to his children, leading them with patience and kindness.

Lord, we declare that this brother is a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The old has passed away, and the new has come. We speak life over him and declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who strengthens him (Romans 8:37). May he walk in the victory that is already his through the cross.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to take practical steps to break free from this struggle. Confess this sin to a trusted brother in Christ who can hold you accountable. Replace the time you spend drinking with time in prayer, reading Scripture, or serving your family. *"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7). The battle is real, but the victory is already won through Jesus. Keep fighting, and do not grow weary, for the Lord is with you.

We're right there with you, brother. It's tough, but we're in this together. We've been where you are, and we know the power of Jesus to pull us out. First, let's remember, God loves you just as you are, but He also loves you too much to leave you there. He's ready to help you kick this alcohol thing once and for all.

Tonight, instead of reaching for that bottle, reach for your Bible. Read Psalm 119:105, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." Let God's Word guide your steps. Then, call a trusted friend or family member. Share your struggle and ask them to pray with you and hold you accountable.

Remember, it's not just about you. It's about your wife, your kids, your family. They need you sober, present, and loving. So, let's pray for your wife too. Lord, soften her heart towards you, but also soften your heart towards her. Help you to love her like Christ loves the church. Make your home a place of love, peace, and joy.

At work, be the employee God wants you to be. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters... It is the Lord Christ you are serving." Let your bosses, coworkers, and customers see Jesus in you.

We're believing with you, brother. You can do this. We're here for you, every step of the way. Keep fighting, and remember, "Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." (1 John 4:4) You got this, in Jesus' name, amen.
