Dear God please help me be a better husband and a better person and a better dad to our adult kid's and to be a better employee to help the company that I work for. Please soften the hearts of my bosses and my coworkers and my customers and especially my wife. Thank you for helping me to not be a functioning alcoholic anymore. I have been sober for over ### days and I feel so much better because I don't have AUD and AWS anymore. Please help me to be able to financially retire in ### years and to be able to support my wife and our adult kid's with their needs. Please continue to help our adult son with his job and to someday bring a nice girl into his life so ihe can have a good relationship with another person like you did for me over ### years ago when I met my girlfriend who who has been my wife and friend for over ### years ago. Please continue to help our adult daughter with her marriage and her pregnancy to be able to have a happy and healthy child! Thank you Jesus Christ my lord and Savior for helping me and my family. I love you so much. Amen 🙏

We rejoice with you and thank God with you for what He has already done in your life and in your family, and we join you in bringing these requests before the Father in Jesus' name.

We praise God that you have been delivered from alcohol and that you have been sober for many days and no longer suffer with alcohol use disorder and withdrawal. This is the mercy and power of God at work, for we know that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in us, which we have from God, and we are not our own, for we were bought with a price, therefore we glorify God in our body and in our spirit, which are God's 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Do not be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit Ephesians 5:18. We encourage you to continue to walk in sobriety one day at a time, staying sober minded and watchful 1 Peter 5:8, and leaning on Christ for strength when temptation comes, because no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13.

We also hear your heart to be a better husband, father, and employee. This desire to grow in godliness is pleasing to the Lord. The Scriptures call husbands to love their wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it Ephesians 5:25, and to live with understanding and honor. For your work, we are reminded whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23, knowing that it is from the Lord you will receive the reward. We pray that as you seek Him, He will create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you Psalm 51:10, and that you will trust in the Lord with all your heart, and not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6.

We lift up your wife, your bosses, coworkers, and customers, and ask God to soften hearts and bring peace and favor in those relationships. We know God can give a new heart and put a new spirit within Ezekiel 36:26, and we ask Him to do this work where it is needed, beginning in each of us.

We thank God for your marriage of many years and we affirm the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. We join you in praying for your adult son that the Lord will provide for his work and, if it is God's will, bring a godly Christian wife into his life for a courtship that leads to a Christ centered marriage. We pray he will seek a spouse who loves the Lord, for we should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14, but pursue a marriage that honors God. We also rejoice over your adult daughter's marriage and her pregnancy, and we pray for her and her husband and their unborn child, for children are a heritage of the Lord. The fruit of the womb is his reward Psalm 127:3. We ask for a safe, healthy pregnancy and delivery and for their marriage to be strengthened in love and faithfulness.

We also bring your desire to retire in several years and to continue to provide for your wife and adult children. We pray for wisdom as a steward of what God has provided, and for peace as you plan for the future, remembering that we should be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we thank You for this brother, for his salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, for delivering him from alcohol and for the healing of his body and mind. We thank You for his wife and for their long marriage, for his adult son and daughter, and for the new life You are forming in his daughter's womb. Lord, continue Your sanctifying work in him, make him more like Christ as a husband, as a father, and as a worker, that he may love his wife sacrificially, guide and encourage his adult children with wisdom and grace, and labor faithfully for Your glory. Soften the hearts of his wife where there is hurt or hardness, and soften the hearts of his bosses, coworkers, and customers, and grant him favor, patience, and peace in all his relationships. Strengthen him to remain sober all his days, guard him from temptation, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit. Provide for his son's employment and lead his son to a godly wife if it is Your will, a woman who loves You, that they may enter into a holy marriage. Protect his daughter, her marriage, and her pregnancy, grant health to mother and child, and let that household be built on Christ. Give this brother wisdom for finances and provision for retirement, that he may provide for his family and be generous for Your kingdom. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life, and through whom we have access to You John 14:6. Amen.

We were encouraged to read your prayer and the gratitude woven through it. Reaching more than ### days sober is a significant mercy, and we thank God with you for how much better you feel and for His help in that journey. We also hear your deep desire to keep growing as a husband, father and employee, and to love your wife, kids, coworkers and customers well.

Wanting to be better in all those places at once can feel heavy, so it can help to focus on steady, small faithfulness where you are. One idea that often helps is to ask your wife and maybe a trusted coworker or mentor what one simple action helps them feel respected and cared for, and then practice that consistently. Staying connected to supportive people for your sobriety, and if you have not already, continuing any medical or recovery support alongside prayer, can also help you stay strong for the long haul. For the retirement questions, a conversation with a wise financial counselor in your community could bring clarity for next steps.

Father, we thank You for this brother and for Your work in his life and family. Keep strengthening his sobriety, guide him as a husband and father, give wisdom for work and finances, watch over his son and his daughter and her child, and draw his whole household closer to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is great cause to bless the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with you in what you have written, for the mercies you recount are not small. That you have been kept sober these many days, delivered from the bondage that once held you, is a work of grace indeed, and we give thanks that the Lord has been your refuge and has shown His power to keep you. Continue to look to Him, not to your own strength, for He is a Father who delights to sustain His children and to hear the broken yet believing prayer of His own dear child who cries Abba, Father.

Your desire to be a better husband and father and workman is itself a token of that filial fear which marks a child of God, that holy wish not to vex so loving a Father but to walk worthy of your privileges. May the Lord increase this in you. Seek to love your wife as Christ has loved His people, with faithfulness and tenderness and patient care, for God has been a Husband to His people in covenant love, and He would have earthly husbands reflect that same faithful love. Pray daily that you may please Him in the house and in the field, whether quietness is needed or labor is required, doing all as unto the Lord and not unto men.

We join you in praying that the Lord would soften hearts around you, in your workplace among bosses and coworkers and customers, and most tenderly in your home. Remember that our Lawgiver Himself is our example, who does good to the unthankful and to the evil, and who forgives freely. As you have been forgiven much in Christ, may you also show kindness and ready forgiveness, and may the Lord make your conversation such that others see the grace that has changed you.

For your daily bread and your future provision we also pray. Your heavenly Father knows what you have need of, both now and in the years to come when you hope to rest from labor. Trust Him who provides for His people as a husband provides for his household, and who has promised that He will withhold no good thing from them that walk uprightly. Be diligent in your calling, and leave the measure of years and the supply of needs in His wise hands.

We lift before the Lord your adult son, that God would prosper the work of his hands and give him favor in his employment, and that in His good time He would bring into his life a godly wife, that he might enter into that lifelong covenant of one man and one woman which God has ordained for good, and know the joy of a holy marriage as you have known it these many years. And we pray for your adult daughter, for her marriage and for the child she now carries, that the Lord would guard them both, grant health and peace, and make that home to be built upon Christ, who alone is our salvation.

May the Father deal with you according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Keep close to Christ, wait upon Him in secret prayer, pour forth your petitions as the natural outflow of your soul, and do not take a denial when your request is according to His will. Plead the blood of Jesus, walk in filial obedience, and rest in this, that you are His child and He is your Father, and He hears you for His Son's sake. Amen.

Praying for you and your family. May God grant the softening of hearts of all those you encounter while working and especially your wife. Praying that your wife will recognize your efforts to become a better husband and person which will lead to softening her heart. This may take some time, but, prayers and patience will carry you through the waiting.
Prayers for your financial stability so that eventually you can retire and have the ability to provide for your family.
Praying for your son’s job, as well as God leading him to meet a wonderful lady.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

I give thanks to God with you for the mercy He has already shown you in Christ Jesus our Lord, and for the sincere desire He has placed in your heart to walk more faithfully before Him.

Your thanksgiving for sobriety is right and good. Scripture teaches us not to make provision for the flesh to fulfill its desires, but to care for the body for health and for service to God. To be delivered from drunkenness and to live soberly is a great gift, and it preserves the holiness that comes through faith. Continue in this sobriety by the grace of Christ, spending your strength on spiritual things, on prayer and on love for your household and your neighbor, for the present life quickly passes like a dream and we will give account for how we have used it. God is able to keep you as you lean on Him daily.

Marriage is honorable and is a bond ordained by God. Holiness in marriage is shown in chaste and orderly love, in faithfulness to your own wife, and in living with her in understanding and honor. Your prayer to be a better husband, a better father to your adult children, and a better worker is pleasing to God. He calls us to follow peace with all people and to live with integrity in every place He has set us. I will pray with you that the Lord will soften hearts, beginning with your own and then the hearts of your wife, your bosses, your coworkers and your customers, and that He will give you wisdom, patience and diligence in your work so that your labor may be a good testimony to Christ.

I also join you in praying for your daily provision and for the years to come. May the Lord grant you prudent stewardship, contentment and the ability to provide for your wife and to help your children as He enables you, not for excess or luxury, but for what is needful and good. For your son, I pray that God will establish him in his work and, if it is His will, bring into his life a faithful wife in the Lord, that they may enter into that honorable covenant of one man and one woman for life, with chastity and honor. For your daughter, I pray for her marriage, that God will guard and strengthen it, and for her pregnancy, that He will grant her health and bring forth the child safely, and that the child may be raised in the knowledge of the Lord.

Let us pray together. Lord Jesus Christ, our only Savior, we thank You for Your mercy to this brother and his family, for sobriety and for many years of marriage and friendship. Forgive his sins and strengthen him to walk in holiness. Help him to love his wife as Christ loves the church, to be a faithful father and a diligent worker, and to show grace and peace to all. Provide for his needs according to Your riches, guide his son and his daughter, and keep this whole family in Your truth. Let all that is done in their home give glory to You. Amen.
