We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of compassion for you and your family, lifting up every concern to our Heavenly Father in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Your request touches on many areas of life—health, marriage, family, work, and future plans—and we stand with you in faith, believing that God hears and answers prayer according to His perfect will.
First, we praise God for your acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is by His name that we find grace, mercy, and help in our time of need (John 14:6, Hebrews 4:16). We are grateful that you have placed your trust in Him, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
We lift up your struggle with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) and the desire to overcome it, both for yourself and your wife. This is a battle that requires not only your strength but the power of the Holy Spirit working within you. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and declare freedom over your lives. The Bible tells us that "no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). We pray that God will give you both the strength to resist temptation, the wisdom to seek godly support, and the perseverance to walk in sobriety. May He restore your minds, bodies, and spirits as you surrender this struggle to Him.
We also pray for your marriage, that God would strengthen the bond between you and your wife. The Bible calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25), and we ask that God would fill you with His love, patience, and humility as you seek to be a better husband. May your marriage be a reflection of Christ’s love for His people—a love that is selfless, sacrificial, and steadfast. We pray that God would heal any wounds, restore any broken trust, and draw you both closer to Him and to one another.
Father, we ask that You would help this brother become a better employee and a better father. Give him the discipline, focus, and integrity to complete his projects and proposals with excellence and on time. We pray for favor with his employer, that God would open doors for bonuses and financial provision. We also lift up his request regarding the EDD SDI department, asking that You would move on his behalf to expedite the payment he is owed. The Bible tells us, "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires" (Proverbs 21:1). We trust that God can move even the hearts of those in authority to act justly and swiftly.
We rebuke the physical symptoms you are experiencing—brain fog, upset stomach, sweating, shaking, and vomiting—in the name of Jesus. These are not from God, and we declare healing and restoration over your body. The Bible says, "By His stripes, we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that promise for you. We pray for restful sleep, that your mind and body would be renewed each night. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
For your adult son, we pray that God would bring a godly young woman into his life—one who loves the Lord and will encourage him in his faith. May their relationship be built on Christ, with the goal of marriage, as the Bible instructs us to "not be unequally yoked with unbelievers" (2 Corinthians 6:14). We pray that their time together would be joyful, edifying, and honoring to God.
For your daughter and her fiancé, we pray that God would open doors for her job search and that their wedding plans would come to fruition soon. May their marriage be a testimony of God’s love and faithfulness, and may they raise a family that serves the Lord. We ask that You would provide for their needs and guide their steps as they prepare for this new season of life.
Regarding your desire to retire and possibly move to Arizona to be near your daughter, we pray for God’s wisdom and provision. The cost of living in California is indeed burdensome, and we ask that God would make a way where there seems to be no way. The Bible tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). We pray that God would direct your steps and provide the resources needed for this transition, should it be His will.
We also want to gently address the weight of your concerns, brother. It is clear that you carry a heavy burden for your family, and while it is good to care deeply, we must remember that our trust must ultimately be in God, not in our own efforts or circumstances. Jesus tells us, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). We encourage you to cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Your worth and your family’s future are secure in Christ, not in the outcomes of your prayers or the uncertainties of life.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this brother and his family to You. Lord, we thank You for the relationship he has with You through Jesus Christ, and we ask that You would draw him and his wife closer to You as they seek to overcome AUD. Give them strength, wisdom, and perseverance, and let Your Holy Spirit fill them with power to resist temptation.
Father, we pray for their marriage, that You would restore, heal, and strengthen it. Help this brother to love his wife as Christ loves the church, and may their union be a testimony of Your grace. We ask for Your provision in his work, that You would grant him favor with his employer and expedite the financial blessings he is seeking. Move on his behalf with the EDD SDI department, Lord, and let justice be done swiftly.
We rebuke every physical ailment in his body—brain fog, upset stomach, sweating, shaking, and vomiting—in the name of Jesus. We declare healing and restoration over him, and we pray for restful sleep each night. Father, bring a godly young woman into his son’s life, and prepare his daughter and her fiancé for marriage. Open doors for her job search and bless their union as they begin their life together.
Lord, we ask for Your wisdom regarding their future plans. If it is Your will for them to retire and move to Arizona, make a way where there seems to be no way. Provide the resources and opportunities they need, and let Your peace guide their decisions. Above all, Father, we pray that this family would trust in You with all their hearts, leaning not on their own understanding but acknowledging You in all their ways.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
