Dear God please help me stop drinking alcohol and smoking pot. I am in my bed again and I should be at work. I'm really sorry God but I am just a little bit tired of working and providing for my family. I really don't want to provide for myself anymore. I'm a little bit scared of losing my job. Please soften the hearts of my bosses and my coworkers and my customers and especially my wife. Please help my wife and my adult kids to be able to take care of themselves without me. Please forgive me for my weakness and my alcohol use. Please let me have another chance to get back to work and to keep my job and my wife and my home and to be a better person and a better husband and a better employee and a better dad! Will you please help me and tell me that it's going to be ok?

We hear your cry for help, and we come before the throne of grace with you, lifting up your burdens to our Heavenly Father. Your honesty and vulnerability are the first steps toward true repentance and restoration. The struggles you face with alcohol, marijuana, and the weight of responsibility are not battles you must fight alone—God is near to the brokenhearted, and He hears the prayers of those who seek Him with a sincere heart.

First, we must address the sin in your life with clarity and love. The Bible is clear that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them. "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Alcohol and marijuana cloud your judgment, weaken your spirit, and lead you away from the path of righteousness. They are tools the enemy uses to steal your joy, your purpose, and your ability to be the husband, father, and employee God has called you to be. We rebuke the grip of addiction in your life in the name of Jesus Christ. The power of sin over you is broken by the blood of Jesus, and you are no longer a slave to these habits. "Sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace" (Romans 6:14).

Your weariness and desire to step away from responsibility are understandable, but they are not God’s design for you. The Lord calls men to lead their families with strength, love, and provision, not out of obligation, but out of a heart that seeks to honor Him. "But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever" (1 Timothy 5:8). This does not mean you must carry the weight alone—God is your ultimate provider, and He will sustain you as you trust in Him. However, it is not His will for you to abandon your role as a husband and father. Instead, He calls you to lean on Him for strength and wisdom. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:28-29).

Your fear of losing your job is valid, but we must remind you that God is your ultimate employer. He sees your efforts, and He is able to soften the hearts of those around you. However, you must also take responsibility for your actions. Proverbs 22:29 says, "Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve kings. He won’t serve obscure men." God has given you skills and abilities, and He expects you to use them diligently. We pray that your bosses, coworkers, and customers will show you grace, but you must also commit to showing up, working hard, and demonstrating the change God is working in you.

As for your wife and adult children, it is not God’s design for them to "take care of themselves" without you. Marriage is a covenant, and you are called to love your wife as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25). Your children, even as adults, need your guidance, wisdom, and support. Instead of asking God to remove your responsibility, ask Him to strengthen you to fulfill it. Pray for your wife and children to grow in their own faith and maturity, but do not use that as an excuse to step away from your God-given role.

We also want to address the root of your struggle. Your weariness and desire to escape may stem from deeper issues—perhaps unaddressed pain, stress, or even a lack of fulfillment in your relationship with God. The enemy wants you to believe that alcohol and marijuana are your only sources of comfort, but the truth is that true peace and rest are found in Christ alone. "These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). You do not need to numb your pain; you need to bring it to the Lord and allow Him to heal you.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother who is struggling with addiction, weariness, and fear. Lord, we thank You for his honesty and his desire to change. We ask that You would break the chains of alcohol and marijuana in his life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and give him the strength to resist temptation. Help him to see himself as You see him—a beloved child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and called to live a life of purpose and holiness.

Father, we pray for his job and his relationships. Soften the hearts of his bosses, coworkers, and customers, Lord, and give him favor in their eyes. But also, give him the courage and discipline to show up, work hard, and honor You in all he does. Help him to trust in You as his ultimate provider, and remind him that his worth is not found in his job or his ability to provide, but in Christ alone.

Lord, we pray for his marriage and his family. Strengthen his relationship with his wife, and help them to grow together in faith and love. Give him the wisdom to lead his family with humility, grace, and godly authority. Help his children to see the change in him and to be drawn closer to You as a result.

Father, we ask that You would heal the deeper wounds in his heart. Show him the root of his pain, and bring Your healing touch to every area of his life. Replace his desire for escape with a hunger for Your presence. Fill him with Your peace, joy, and hope, so that he no longer feels the need to turn to substances for comfort.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of addiction, laziness, and fear in his life. We declare that he is free in Christ, and we speak strength, discipline, and purpose over him. Help him to walk in the victory that is already his through Jesus.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would reassure him that it is going to be okay. Not because of his own strength, but because You are faithful, and You will never leave him nor forsake him. Give him the courage to take the next step, and remind him that with You, all things are possible.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and He is fighting for you. Take one step at a time, and lean on Him for strength. Consider reaching out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or Christian brother who can walk alongside you in this journey. You are loved, you are valued, and God has a plan for your life. Trust in Him, and He will lead you into freedom and purpose.

Dear friend, we're here with you, lifting your burdens up to Jesus. We know it's tough, but we're believing with you that God is going to turn this around.

First, let's ask God to fill you with His strength and courage. You're not alone in this fight, and God is more than able to help you overcome your struggles with alcohol and marijuana. We claim 1 Corinthians 10:13 over you, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."

Next, let's pray for your job situation. We ask God to soften the hearts of your bosses, coworkers, and customers. We also pray that you would find favor in their eyes, but we encourage you to take responsibility for your actions and work diligently. Remember, God has given you unique skills and abilities, and He expects you to use them faithfully.

For your family, we pray that God would strengthen your marriage and help you to lead your family with love, wisdom, and godly authority. We also pray that your wife and adult children would grow in their own faith and maturity, but we encourage you not to use that as an excuse to step away from your God-given role as a husband and father.

Finally, we want to remind you that God is always with you. In Jeremiah 29:11, He says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Trust in Him, and He will lead you into freedom and purpose.

You are loved, valued, and God has a plan for your life. Take one step at a time, and lean on Him for strength. Consider reaching out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or Christian brother who can walk alongside you in this journey.

We're believing with you that it's going to be okay, because God is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. With God, all things are possible.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want you to know how deeply we have carried your request to the Lord these past days. It has been our privilege to stand with you in prayer, lifting up your struggle with alcohol and your desire to break free from its hold. We have asked our Heavenly Father to strengthen your resolve, to fill you with His peace, and to give you the courage to take each step toward freedom. We’ve prayed for His healing hand to restore your body, mind, and spirit, and for His grace to cover you in moments of weakness.

We’ve also lifted up your weariness and the weight you feel as a provider. Father, we asked You to renew his strength, to remind him of Your faithfulness, and to help him trust in Your provision rather than his own efforts. We prayed for his job—that You would soften the hearts of his employers, coworkers, and customers, and that You would grant him favor and security in his workplace. We’ve asked You to surround him with wisdom, patience, and perseverance as he seeks to honor You in his work.

Most of all, we’ve prayed for your family—that You would comfort your wife and children, draw them closer to You, and help them to see Your hand at work even in this season. We asked the Lord to give them strength and independence, not out of absence, but out of trust in Him. We’ve prayed for restoration in your relationships, for healing in your home, and for the love of Christ to bind you all together in unity and grace.

If the Lord has answered any part of this prayer—if you’ve felt His peace, seen His provision, or experienced even a small victory over temptation—we would be so encouraged to hear about it. Your praise report could be a blessing to others who are walking a similar path. If, however, the struggle persists or the answers haven’t come as you hoped, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are here to continue standing with you, lifting you up in prayer, and trusting God’s perfect timing.

May the Lord bless you with His presence, fill you with His hope, and remind you daily that you are not alone. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting in His son Jesus Christ, and know that we are praying for you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
