Your request has been heard and your pain is clear. You are caught between intense arguments at home, a conversation your wife says you need to have, rumors about your plans, dreams that have left you both unsettled, and the very real hurt of knowing she has been unfaithful. Feeling torn and not knowing what to do is an honest place to be, and it is the right time to seek the Lord for direction rather than making a quick choice out of pressure or emotion.

Scripture teaches that wisdom is the most important thing to seek, and with all of your seeking to get understanding. Knowledge can tell you facts and list your options, but wisdom shows you how to walk rightly before God. The beginning of that wisdom is the fear of the Lord, a heart that honors Him, hates what He calls evil, and wants His way above your own. That kind of wisdom is not hidden. It cries out openly and invites anyone who will listen to come and receive it. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and God promises to give wisdom generously to those who ask Him for it.

There is a difference between the wisdom that comes from above and the wisdom of this world. The wisdom of the world is earthly and sensual and often leads to envy, strife and impurity. You can recognize it by its fruit. True wisdom, the wisdom from God, is pure, peaceable, gentle and willing to yield, and it leads to a life of purity and peace. It does not celebrate or make room for what God calls sin. That is important for your situation, because any path forward must not treat unfaithfulness as acceptable or ask God to bless it. Sex and living together belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and departure from that is not something to be affirmed but something to be turned from with repentance and grace.

Because wisdom is a defense and gives life to those who have it, you are right to pause and ask God to make the decision clear rather than simply weighing options on your own. Weighing options alone is knowledge, but asking God for wisdom is asking Him to show you what is right and how to walk in it. Without counsel purposes fail, but with many godly counselors there is safety. Do not make a major decision about moving out while arguments are intense or based only on dreams or on who pays the bills. Marriage in God's eyes is not a financial arrangement where the one who pays decides the terms. It is a covenant before Him. Moving out may feel like it will bring relief from conflict, but it also brings serious practical and spiritual consequences and will not by itself heal the hurt or resolve the unfaithfulness.

Instead, bring this to the Lord plainly. Ask Him for wisdom that will preserve and keep you, for understanding that will guide your next steps, and for a heart that seeks His will more than simply having things move in a way that feels favorable at the moment. Pray also for your wife, that God would bring conviction where there has been unfaithfulness, and bring healing where there has been strife. Seek godly, biblical counsel quickly from a mature pastor or counselor who will point you both to Scripture and not simply to what feels easiest. Let that counsel help you speak truthfully and calmly when you talk, to set clear and righteous boundaries, and to consider what faithfulness to your vows looks like in this season.

I am praying for you that the Lord will pour out His Spirit of wisdom upon you, that He will grant you an understanding heart, that He will guard you from a hasty choice, and that He will lead you in the path that is pure and peaceable. May He give you clarity for the decision before you, comfort in the pain of betrayal, strength to hate evil and cling to what is good, and faith to trust Jesus Christ alone for salvation and for daily guidance. May He work in your home to bring truth to light, to restrain further harm, and to open the door for repentance, forgiveness and restoration where it is biblically possible, or for clear biblical direction if it is not.

Father, in the name of Jesus, grant this dear one wisdom and understanding. Let the fear of the Lord be his foundation, let Your wisdom from above guide every word and step, and let Your will be done in his marriage and his home. Give him counselors who speak Your truth, give him peace that comes from walking in Your way, and give him trust to wait on You rather than rushing ahead. Amen.
