Disciple of Prayer
Dear god, I ask that you move in all this in Jesus name amen. My wife ### said we need to talk when she get home. She said someone told her I'm thinking about moving out. Now she's talking about she wants to know what I'm going to do so she know what she needs to do. If she's the one paying the bills then I don't think it should matter what im going to do. I pray she doesn't rush me to move put so she can move the man in that she's been cheating on me with. I'm only thinking about moving out because of the arguments we been having. There starting to get intense. Now she's dreaming about me and her arguing. She's been dreaming about me and the other man arguing. I started weighing my options. But I dont know what I'm going to do right now. I ask that you make that decision because I don't know what to do. I ask that you move in all this in my favor in Jesus name amen.

We hear the pain and confusion in your heart, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, seeking God’s wisdom and intervention in this difficult season of your marriage. The Scriptures remind us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." (James 1:5 WEB). You are not alone in this struggle, and we join you in crying out to the Lord for clarity and direction.

First, we must address the seriousness of the situation with truth and love. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant before God, meant to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Adultery is a grievous sin, and if your wife has been unfaithful, this is a profound betrayal that wounds the very foundation of your union. Jesus Himself said, "Whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery" (Matthew 19:9 WEB). However, we also know that God is a God of restoration and healing. If there is genuine repentance and a desire to rebuild trust, there is hope for reconciliation, though it will require humility, forgiveness, and a commitment to godly counsel.

You mentioned that your wife is pressuring you to make a decision, possibly to create space for another man. This is manipulation, and it is not of God. The Lord does not operate through coercion or fear. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). We rebuke the spirit of confusion and division that seeks to destroy your marriage, and we declare that God’s peace and truth will prevail in this situation.

It is concerning that your wife is having dreams about you arguing with her and with the other man. Dreams can sometimes reflect the spiritual atmosphere around us, and we must take authority over any demonic influence seeking to fuel strife and separation. Jesus has given us authority over the enemy (Luke 10:19), and we stand in that authority now, commanding every spirit of division, adultery, and deception to flee in the name of Jesus Christ.

You are at a crossroads, and the weight of this decision is heavy. We encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly, not just for an outcome, but for His heart in this matter. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). This is not just about where you will live or what you will do, it is about honoring God with your choices and trusting Him to lead you.

We also urge you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or a mature Christian couple who can walk with you through this. "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety" (Proverbs 11:14 WEB). Isolation can make the enemy’s lies seem louder, but God’s truth is stronger when spoken in community.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this brother and his marriage to You. Lord, You see the pain, the confusion, and the betrayal he is facing. We ask that You would pour out Your wisdom upon him, that he may know the path You have for him in this season. Give him clarity, peace, and strength to stand firm in Your truth.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of division, adultery, and deception that is seeking to destroy this marriage. We declare that no weapon formed against this union shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we ask that You would expose every hidden thing that does not align with Your will. If there is unrepentant sin in this marriage, we pray that You would bring conviction and lead to true repentance. If there is a path to restoration, we ask that You would soften hearts and heal wounds.

Lord, we ask that You would guard this brother’s heart from bitterness, fear, and resentment. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and help him to trust in You with every step. If separation is Your will, we pray that You would go before him and provide for every need. If reconciliation is Your will, we pray that You would restore what has been broken and make this marriage a testimony of Your grace.

Father, we also pray for his wife. If she is entangled in sin, we ask that You would break the chains of deception and draw her back to You. If she is hardened, we ask that You would soften her heart and open her eyes to the truth. Let her see the consequences of her actions and turn from them in repentance.

Above all, Lord, we ask that Your name would be glorified in this situation. May Your will be done, and may this brother walk in obedience to You, no matter the cost. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, allowing His truth to anchor your heart. Meditate on passages like Psalm 37, which reminds us to trust in the Lord and commit our ways to Him. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and speak life into your situation. And remember, no matter what happens, God is with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). You are not defined by this trial, but by your identity in Christ. Stand firm, and let the Lord fight for you.

We can feel the weight in your words, the exhaustion from the arguing, the sting of suspicion, and the pressure to know right now what you cannot yet see. It is not weak to say you do not know. Refusing to decide while emotions are running this high is often the wisest thing you can do.

When your wife wants to talk, consider asking for a calmer, private time. If the conversation begins to escalate, it may help to step back and agree to continue later, or to have a wise third person present. You do not have to answer every question in the moment, especially while you are still weighing what is true.

We would also encourage you to keep the decision about moving out separate from the question about the other man. Right now you need clarity, not proof or pressure. A trusted pastor or Christian marriage counselor can help slow the conversation down and give you both a steadier place to speak honestly.

Lord, we bring this husband and this marriage to You. You see the arguments, the fear, the suspicion, and the weight of this decision. Guard both of them from words or choices they cannot take back. Give this man steady judgment when he feels pulled in many directions. Bring truth to light gently, and give them both sound counsel and calm hearts. Protect their home, and where there has been betrayal, bring genuine repentance and healing; where there is misunderstanding, bring clarity. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The weight that presses upon you is heavy, and your prayer shows a soul tossed to and fro and seeking a compass in a trackless waste. You speak of intense arguments, of dreams troubled by strife, of weighing options and not knowing what to do, and of a fear that a sacred bond may be torn asunder to make way for sin. This is indeed a valley of decision, and it is right that you should look not to your own understanding but to the Lord who alone can give wisdom.

Wisdom is man's true path, the compass by which he must steer across this life, and where shall this wisdom be found. It is not found in weighing options alone, nor in the counsel that comes from haste or from the heat of argument. The price of wisdom is above rubies and it is found in trust in God. Without wisdom a man runs here and there as the wild ass's colt, wasting strength which might be profitably employed. With wisdom he stands next to the Eternal One, for Christ has linked humanity to Himself. Hear then the word, whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he. It was faith, faith alone, that enabled the prophet to arrive at his decision and to carry it out, for he had faith in Jehovah. You too must not go the way the current goes, nor make a decision because you are pressed or provoked, but seek the Lord in faith and ask Him for wisdom, for He giveth liberally to them that ask.

Concerning marriage, hear what the Lord says, I am married unto you. Marriage is not a light affinity but a union of choice cemented by mutual love, wherein husband and wife become one. How shall we call that a marriage where husband and wife remain as two persons maintaining separate interests as if it were a scrupulous condition of the contract. That is utterly foreign to the Divine idea. In a true marriage the two become one flesh, and the will of God ought to be done on earth as it is in heaven, for what He does is always best. Therefore the thought of separation should cause any tender heart to weep rather than to speak lightly. Two shall be in one bed, the one shall be taken and the other left, and that separation is agony indeed to the lost, dividing between joints and marrow, tearing asunder marriage ties and slaying all vain hopes. It is not a thing to be rushed into in an hour of anger or because bills are paid by one and not the other. In the Lord's sight marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and within that covenant alone is there blessing for living together and for the union of bodies and lives. Any other path arises from folly and transgression.

You fear that your wife has been unfaithful and that another man may be brought into your home. If this be so, know that such unfaithfulness is sin before God and a grievous wound to the covenant you made. We cannot ask God to bless what He calls sin, nor to prosper a relationship that breaks His holy law. What we can and do ask is that God would move in holiness and mercy, that He would bring conviction where there is sin, repentance where there is wandering, and healing where there is hurt. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and He is able to forgive the greatest sin and to restore the broken heart that turns to Him in truth.

You pray that God would make the decision for you and move in your favor. Let your prayer be shaped thus, not merely that your own preference shall be granted, but that the Lord's will shall be done, for His will is always best. Pray for a heart that trusts Him, for lips that speak peace instead of provoking further strife, and for a home where arguments do not grow intense but where grace governs speech.

Seek therefore this counsel. First, wait upon the Lord in prayer and in the Word, asking for wisdom and not deciding in the heat of the moment. Second, seek godly and sober counsel from a faithful pastor or elders who can hear you both and walk with you, for flies cannot judge an elephant and we cannot judge our own case alone. Third, do not be hasty to leave the home you have covenanted to keep, for going out in anger often makes reconciliation harder and opens a door to further sin. Pursue peace, speak the truth in love, and guard your own heart and tongue when arguments arise. If sin has entered the marriage, let it be brought into the light before God and before faithful witnesses, that there may be confession, repentance, and if God wills, restoration.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, there is none like Thee for goodness, for love, for wisdom. Thou seest this brother in his perplexity and his sorrow, his home troubled by strife and by fear. Grant him wisdom that cometh from above, that he may not lean unto his own understanding but trust wholly in Thee. Show him Thy way, which is the way of wisdom, and enable him by faith to walk therein. Lord, have mercy upon this marriage. Thou hast joined husband and wife as one, and what Thou hast joined let not man put asunder lightly. Where there is sin, bring it into the light, grant repentance and forgiveness through the blood of the Lamb, for there is no marriage between the soul and Christ except through the Lamb who was slain. Where there is anger and confusion, speak peace. Guard this home from further transgression, restrain what is evil, and establish what is holy. Let Thy will be done in this house as it is in heaven, and let this troubled brother find his rest not in his own favor but in Thy favor which is life. Lead him step by step, and keep him close to Jesus Christ our only hope, in whose name we ask all things. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honesty about this painful and confusing situation is heard, and the weight you are carrying is clear. Facing intense arguments at home, uncertainty about whether to stay or leave, and the pain of knowing your wife has been unfaithful with another man is a heavy burden, and it is right to bring it before the Lord seeking wisdom.

God's design for marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and He calls both husband and wife to faithfulness within it. Sex and living together belong within that covenant alone, so we cannot ask God to bless or make room for an adulterous relationship. What your wife is doing in pursuing another man is sin against God and against her vows to you, and it needs repentance, not affirmation. At the same time your own faithfulness and self control before God still matter, even when you have been sinned against.

It is understandable to think about moving out when arguments are becoming intense. Scripture warns us not to let anger lead us into further harm, and to seek peace and self control. Yet a major decision like leaving the home should not be made quickly, out of pressure, or simply because someone else is paying the bills. In marriage neither spouse's financial contribution determines their value or their right to speak into decisions. You are one flesh before God, and decisions about the home should be made with mutual honor, honesty, and with wise counsel, not rushed because of fear that she will move this other man in.

You mentioned dreams about arguing and feeling that you do not know what to do and want God to make the decision for you. God does give wisdom when we ask Him, but He often does so through His Word, through prayer, and through the counsel of mature believers, not only through feelings or dreams. James says if anyone lacks wisdom let him ask God who gives generously. That wisdom will help you act with clarity rather than just reacting to pressure.

I encourage you to take these steps as you seek the Lord:

Bring your desire for God to act in your favor under His will. Instead of praying only for an outcome that favors you, pray for what is true, holy, and healing, even when it is difficult. Pray for your wife to come to conviction and repentance, for truth to come to light, for your own heart to be guarded from bitterness, and for God to be glorified in whatever next steps are taken.

Do not decide alone or in haste. Seek a trusted pastor or elder in your church right away, share honestly what is happening including the adultery and the intensity of the arguments, and invite them to walk with you. If arguments are escalating to a point where you fear for safety, it is wise to seek help immediately and to create space in a way that is open and accountable, not secretive.

Pursue calm and clear communication. When your wife wants to talk, try to listen without escalating, speak the truth in love, and avoid making permanent promises or threats while emotions are high. It is okay to say you need time to pray and seek counsel before making a final decision about living arrangements.

Stay rooted in Christ. Your hope and identity are not in who pays the bills or who stays or leaves, but in Jesus Christ alone who alone saves and sustains. Remain faithful to Him, stay in Scripture, pray, and stay connected to the church where you can be supported.

I will pray for you now. Father in heaven, I lift up this brother to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see his pain, confusion, and the strain in his marriage. Grant him wisdom, peace, and self control as he weighs what to do. Convict where there is sin, bring repentance where there is unfaithfulness, and protect this home from further harm. Help him not to be rushed into a decision but to seek Your will above all, to act righteously, and to find strength and guidance in Your Word and in godly counsel. Guard his heart, give him courage to do what is right, and work for healing and truth according to Your perfect will. Amen.
