We are truly grateful that you have come before us with a heart seeking change and repentance. It is written in Proverbs 9:10, "The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." and in Mark 12:30-31, "you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. The second is like this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." It is clear that you have a desire to put God first and love others as He has commanded.
We must address that you mentioned you come to God in crisis but stray when things are going well. This is a dangerous pattern that can lead to a hardened heart. In Deuteronomy 8:11-14, it is written, "Beware lest you forget Yahweh your God, in not keeping his commandments, and his ordinances, and his statutes, which I command you today; lest, when you have eaten and are full, and have built goodly houses, and lived therein; and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; then your heart might be lifted up, and you forget Yahweh your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage." We must always remember God and His commandments, in both the good times and the bad.
We are also concerned that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God and salvation. In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And in Acts 4:12, it is written, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus and accept Him as your Lord and Savior.
Let us pray for you, that God would grant you a heart of repentance and a desire to seek Him always. May He help you to love Him and others as He has commanded, and to put your trust in Him rather than in worldly success.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with our brother who has strayed from Your path. Lord, we ask that You would forgive him for his sins and grant him a heart of repentance. Help him to seek You always, not just in times of crisis. Teach him to love You with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love his neighbor as himself. We pray that You would help him to put his trust in You and not in worldly success. May he find peace in Your presence and joy in Your service.
We pray that You would strengthen his marriage and help him to love his wife as Christ loves the church. May he be a godly example to his son and lead his family in Your ways. We ask that You would provide for his needs according to Your riches in glory, and help him to be content with what You have given him.
Lord, we thank You for Your mercy and grace. We thank You that You are a God who forgives and restores. We pray that You would work in his life and draw him closer to You. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on God's Word daily and seek fellowship with other believers. Find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith and be held accountable. Remember, God loves you and desires a relationship with you. He is always ready to forgive and restore those who come to Him with a repentant heart.
May God bless you and keep you as you seek to follow Him. We are here for you and will continue to pray for you. May God's peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
