Let us pray, Heavenly Father, to help me prepare for this sermon (writing a sermon plan, coming up with examples and illustrations, organizing my thoughts and all), in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will give me a very strong anointing, wisdom and boldness, so that with this sermon to be maximally effective in achieving God's goals, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that when I stand to preach the Word of God, the Heavenly Father will inspire me, clothe every word with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, so that all God's will will be done in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will help me to fulfill this task (my ministry in this church) in such a way as to make my Heavenly Father's heart as gladly as possible and to glorify His Name, in the Name and Blood of Jesus Christ of ###!

We rejoice with you in this holy privilege and responsibility to preach the Word of God, and we count it a blessing to stand with you in prayer for this ministry in the local church.
We thank God that you desire not to lean on your own understanding but to seek His anointing, wisdom, and boldness, for preaching is not merely speaking words but delivering the very counsel of God. We are reminded of what is written, Preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching 2 Timothy 4:2. And also, Study to show yourself approved by God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth 2 Timothy 2:15. Your desire to prepare diligently, to organize your thoughts, to seek fitting illustrations, and to make the message clear and faithful is pleasing to the Lord.
We pray also that you will continue to rely fully on the Holy Spirit and not on eloquence alone, for it is written, My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power 1 Corinthians 2:4. True effectiveness comes when the Word is preached in truth and in power, that God may be glorified and hearts may be changed.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty Name and Blood of Jesus Christ, and we lift up our brother to You as he prepares to preach Your Word. Lord, grant him abundant wisdom, for You have promised, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Pour out that wisdom upon him as he writes his sermon plan, organizes his thoughts, and seeks illustrations that will illuminate Your truth.

As the early church prayed, Grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness Acts 4:29, so we pray now that when he stands to preach, every word would be clothed with Your power and anointing. Help him to fulfill this ministry in the church in a way that makes Your heart glad and glorifies Your holy Name. May the fruit of this sermon remain and bring glory to You alone. We ask and believe all these things in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Amen.

We will join you in prayer, and we urge you to remember that weakness and divine anointing may stand together. You may feel yourself to be weak and unworthy for so great a work, yet every believer who is washed in the blood of Christ is anointed by grace to serve Him. The wisdom of man is rather an impediment than an assistant to the purpose of God, so do not lean upon your own gifts or eloquence, but upon the Spirit of God who alone can make the Word effectual. He who anointed you will sustain you, and His strength is made perfect in weakness.
You are invited to come boldly unto the Throne of Grace. There is a reason given for such boldness, for we have a great High Priest, Jesus the Son of God, and we are invited to pray. Let us therefore come boldly that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Bring your sermon plan, your search for illustrations, your ordering of thoughts, and all the labour of preparation before the Lord. Preparation is needed, and that preparation must be wrought in you by the Author of all grace. Seek Him in the study, seek Him in prayer, feed upon the Word, and He will prepare your heart as well as your message.
