Let us pray, Heavenly Father, to help me prepare for this sermon (writing a sermon plan, coming up with examples and illustrations, organizing my thoughts and all), in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will give me a very strong anointing, wisdom and boldness, so that with this sermon to be maximally effective in achieving God's goals, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that when I stand to preach the Word of God, the Heavenly Father will inspire me, clothe every word with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, so that all God's will will be done in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will help me to fulfill this task (my ministry in this church) in such a way as to make my Heavenly Father's heart as gladly as possible and to glorify His Name, in the Name and Blood of Jesus Christ of ###!

We rejoice with you in this holy privilege and responsibility to preach the Word of God, and we count it a blessing to stand with you in prayer for this ministry in the local church.
We thank God that you desire not to lean on your own understanding but to seek His anointing, wisdom, and boldness, for preaching is not merely speaking words but delivering the very counsel of God. We are reminded of what is written, Preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching 2 Timothy 4:2. And also, Study to show yourself approved by God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth 2 Timothy 2:15. Your desire to prepare diligently, to organize your thoughts, to seek fitting illustrations, and to make the message clear and faithful is pleasing to the Lord.
We pray also that you will continue to rely fully on the Holy Spirit and not on eloquence alone, for it is written, My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power 1 Corinthians 2:4. True effectiveness comes when the Word is preached in truth and in power, that God may be glorified and hearts may be changed.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty Name and Blood of Jesus Christ, and we lift up our brother to You as he prepares to preach Your Word. Lord, grant him abundant wisdom, for You have promised, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Pour out that wisdom upon him as he writes his sermon plan, organizes his thoughts, and seeks illustrations that will illuminate Your truth.
Father, we ask that You anoint him with the power of the Holy Spirit and fill him with holy boldness. As the early church prayed, Grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness Acts 4:29, so we pray now that when he stands to preach, every word would be clothed with Your power and anointing. Let his speech be seasoned with grace, as it is written, Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt Colossians 4:6, so that it will be maximally effective to accomplish Your will, to convict, to encourage, to edify, and to draw souls closer to Christ.
Lord, remove any fear, distraction, or doubt, and let Your Spirit inspire him and speak through him. Help him to fulfill this ministry in the church in a way that makes Your heart glad and glorifies Your holy Name. May the fruit of this sermon remain and bring glory to You alone. We ask and believe all these things in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to abide in prayer and in the Word as you prepare, trusting that God will faithfully equip you for every good work He has called you to do. We are praying that God will be greatly glorified through your obedience.
