We have heard your cry and we join with you in bringing this heavy burden before our Father. To be unemployed for so long and to feel unwanted and that your career is over is deeply discouraging, and we want you to know we are standing with you in prayer and we do not agree that your story is over. Our God is a God of hope and restoration, and while doors may have been closed by men, He is able to open doors that no one can shut.
We want to gently encourage you that God has not forgotten you or abandoned you in this season of waiting. Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And Philippians 4:19 reminds us, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Even when we cannot see the way forward, He is still our provider and He sees your diligence and your need. We also hear the hopelessness in the words my career is over, and we lovingly rebuke that spirit of despair over your life. As long as God gives breath, your purpose is not finished. Romans 8:28 tells us, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. He can redeem even these difficult years and use them for good.
We also noticed you addressed your prayer to Lord but did not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to come to God in the name of Jesus, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for in His name our prayers are heard and our salvation is secured.
We pray together for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. You know the length of this unemployment, the many applications and rejections, and the weariness that has settled in. Lord, we ask You to forgive any doubt and to renew hope and strength. Open the right door of employment that aligns with Your will, provide for every daily need, and restore dignity and purpose. Give wisdom to steward skills well and to seek You first, as Matthew 6:33 says, But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Help our friend to work heartily as for You, for Colossians 3:23 says, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Guide steps to new training, connections, and opportunities, and let Your favor go before each interview and application. Comfort this heart with Your presence and remind this one that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble from Psalm 46:1. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and provider, amen.
We encourage you to keep seeking Him daily in prayer and in His Word, to remain diligent and willing to do whatever honest work He provides while you wait, and to ask Him to show you if He is leading you to learn a new skill or direction. Do not isolate yourself but reach out to trusted believers and community for support and for networking. God is faithful, and He has not forgotten the work of your hands.
