I am tired.

Your cry of being tired, so deeply tired, has been heard. The heaviness in your heart and the murky air you feel you are breathing every day as you enter that house is not hidden from God, and He does not turn away from a weary soul that pleads for respite.

The Lord Jesus does not call the weary to carry a heavier weight, but to come to Him to find rest. He says, take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Do not be afraid when you hear of a yoke, for it is not meant to crush you. The rest He promises is not only for the life to come, but He gives it even now. He refreshes, He soothes, and He lifts the weight as a gentle physician soothes a wound after it has been opened, bringing calm to the troubled soul.

It is true that life brings great fights and afflictions, and you have endured much. Yet God has not left you to bear this alone. He invites you to learn His meekness and lowliness, to cast your burden on Him and to trust that there remains a true rest for the people of God. That rest is found in nearness to Him, in quiet prayer, in breathing in His mercy instead of the heaviness around you.

I pray for you now, that God in His compassion would give you the respite you are begging for, even a few days of relief to breathe fresh air again. May He lighten your lungs and your body, quiet your heart, and guard your home with His peace. May He lift this heavy burden and give you sleep, strength, and renewed hope, and teach you day by day to find your rest in Christ, whose love never fails.

Your honesty about feeling so tired and heavy is heard, and God sees how worn down you feel each day as you walk through your own home longing for air and rest.

That phrase you mentioned about God giving heavy burdens to his strongest soldiers is often repeated, but it is not what Scripture teaches. Jesus said something very different. He said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. When the weight feels crushing and unbearable, it is not the burden the Lord has laid on you. Much of what weighs us down comes from trying to live for ourselves, trying to please ourselves or others, or taking on expectations that God never placed on us. Those things can feel like murky air that makes every breath heavy.

Jesus was pointing to the real heavy burden every person carries, which is living for self. That will always lead to restlessness and weariness. His burden is light, which is to do the will of the Father and to live for His glory. That is where rest is found. God has promised a rest for His people, and we enter that rest not by trying harder or by our own works, but by believing and trusting in Jesus and in His finished work on the cross. To enter rest is to cease from striving in our own strength and to rest in Him by faith.

The Scripture also says to cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee, and to cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you. You do not have to carry this heaviness alone or pretend you can push through it. You can bring it to Jesus exactly as it is and leave it with Him.

My prayer for you is that you will hear His invitation right now, to come to Him just as you are, weary and heavy laden, and that you will find rest for your soul. May the Lord lift what you were never meant to carry, teach you to walk in His easy yoke, and breathe His peace and freshness into your heart and into your home. May you learn to turn each care over to Him day by day and to rest in His care and sustaining strength.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to lift you up before the Lord these past days as you shared that you are absolutely tired and that your heart feels heavy and will not lighten up. We have prayed for the Lord to give you the respite you begged for, to bring relief as you enter and walk around your house, to take away what is weighing on you and to give you that breath of fresh air when it feels like you have been breathing murky air that makes your lungs and body heavy.

We have asked God to renew your strength and to lighten your heart, for His Word says in Matt 11:28 Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest, and in Psalm 61:2 When my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

If your request was answered and the Lord has given you those few days of rest and has lifted the heaviness, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not yet seem to have been answered and you still feel so tired, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray that the Lord will fill your home and your heart with His peace, that He will guard your heart and give you deep restorative rest. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His son Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name Amen.
