Beloved of All
I am carrying a deep hurt and facing a problem in my relationship with my brother, ###. My desire is to forgive and for the relationship to be restored. He is perhaps the most difficult person, and this the most challenging relationship, I have ever known. Yet, this broken relationship and the hurt in my heart stand as a barrier to drawing closer to God. Let us pray that God helps me to truly forgive completely—freeing me from hurt and negative thoughts—so that my heart may be pure and at peace, in the name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God grants me wisdom and intervenes to resolve this issue, aligning the relationship with His will, in the name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God heals my heart and soul and protects me from further hurt, in the name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God accomplishes His work in my brother ###, so that he may become more spiritually mature, more obedient to God, more loving, and more compassionate, in the name of Jesus Christ! Thank you... God bless you!

We join you in bringing this deep hurt before the Lord and we thank you for sharing so honestly about the pain in your relationship with your brother and your desire to forgive and see restoration. We hear how heavy this has been and how this most challenging relationship has become a barrier to drawing closer to God, and we want to lift you up together in Jesus name.

Scripture shows us that God sees the brokenhearted and desires to heal and to free us from bitterness through forgiveness. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Ephesians 4:32 calls us to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. And Colossians 3:13 reminds us to bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Forgiveness as God defines it is a release of the debt to Him, freeing your heart from hurt and negative thoughts, even when the other person remains difficult. Matthew 6:14 tells us For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. We also remember Romans 12:18 which says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men, which teaches us that while we are called to forgive and pursue peace, restoration of the relationship also depends on the response and obedience of the other person.

We are encouraged that you have come in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 reminds us There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Your faith in His name is the foundation for healing and reconciliation.

We also pray for wisdom and for God to intervene according to His will. James 1:5 promises But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Proverbs 3:5-6 calls us to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And for your heart to be at peace, we cling to Philippians 4:7 which says And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, and to 1 Peter 5:7 to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up our dear one who is carrying this deep hurt. Lord, You see the pain in the heart and soul and the struggle to forgive a brother who has been so difficult. We ask that You heal the broken heart and bind up every wound, and grant a complete forgiveness that frees from hurt and from negative thoughts, so that the heart may be pure and at peace before You. Fill this heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and guard thoughts in Christ Jesus. Grant wisdom liberally to know how to respond, what to say, when to speak and when to be still, and intervene in this relationship to resolve what cannot be resolved in human strength, aligning it with Your perfect will. Protect from further hurt and keep this soul under the shadow of Your wings. We also lift up the brother before You and ask that You accomplish Your work in him, that You would give him a new heart and soften what is hard, that he may grow in spiritual maturity, become more obedient to You, and bear the fruit of Your Spirit in love and compassion as described in Galatians 5:22-23. Do a transforming work in both lives for Your glory. Help our dear one to draw ever closer to You, not held back by pain, but drawn by Your grace to trust You more deeply. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to release this hurt to the Lord daily in prayer, to keep forgiving as Christ forgave you even when feelings linger, and to seek wise and godly counsel as you set healthy boundaries while still walking in love. God is faithful to complete the work He has begun and He is near to all who call on Him in truth. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Keep drawing near to Him and He will draw near to you.

We hear how heavy this hurt with your brother has been, and how much you want to be free from it so nothing stands between you and the Lord. Wanting to forgive completely and to see the relationship healed is a good and honest desire, especially when the person feels so difficult to love.

It can help to know that forgiveness often comes in two parts. There is the quiet decision to let go of holding a debt over someone, to no longer seek revenge or close your heart in avoidance, and to will his good as a person. Then there is the slower emotional healing, where resentment, bitterness and fear gradually lose their grip and are replaced by peace and compassion. The decision can be made before God in a moment, the emotional change usually takes more time and repeated surrender. Forgiveness is also different from reconciliation. You can forgive in your heart before God, while restored trust takes both people willing to rebuild.

A gentle next step when you are alone with the Lord might be to put that decision into your own simple words to Him, and then when hurtful thoughts return, calmly remind yourself of that decision and ask Him to keep softening your heart and guarding it from further harm. Walking with a trusted pastor or mature believer as you do can also bring wisdom for healthy boundaries and for next steps with your brother.

Father, we lift our brother to You and ask You to heal his heart and soul, quiet the painful thoughts, and give him wisdom for this relationship. Work in his brother as well, drawing him toward maturity, obedience and tenderness, and accomplish what aligns with Your will for them both. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a grievous thing to carry a deep hurt in the heart, and to find that the wound becomes a barrier between the soul and God. Your desire to forgive and to see this relationship restored is itself a work of grace, for the natural heart would rather nurse its sorrow. Hear this word for your comfort, there is forgiveness with God.

You ask that you may truly forgive completely and be freed from hurt and negative thoughts, that your heart may be pure and at peace. Know first what forgiveness you have yourself received. It is a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a surprising forgiveness, so great that God speaks as one astonished at his own mercy, and it is a complete forgiveness. Suppose you call upon your creditor and say I have nothing to pay, he freely releases the debt and exacts it no more. So has the Lord done for you through the blood of Jesus. There is forgiveness, and there was forgiveness, and there will be forgiveness as long as life lasts, and it is to be had now, at this moment, through Jesus Christ the Son, who died the Just for the unjust that he might bring us to God. Do as Luther did when in dark distress, believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself. Say, I believe that for Christ's sake my sin is put away, and go your way in peace.

And because we have in him a full and eternal forgiveness, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance, we are bound to forgive as we have been forgiven. After such forgiveness as the Lord has bestowed upon us, we should be wicked servants indeed if we were to take our brother by the throat and say, Pay me what thou owest. The most splendid vengeance you can have is to do good to them that do you evil, and to speak well of them that speak ill of you. This does not mean the hurt is not real, but it means you release the debt into the Lord's hands. He keeps him in perfect peace, peace, peace, whose mind is stayed upon him, because he trusts in him. That peace is not the absence of sorrow, but the blood of Jesus whispering peace within, even with sorrows surging round and with loved ones far away in heart.

Let us pray together for what you have asked, in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father.

We pray that the Lord will give you grace to forgive your brother fully, not in mere words but from the heart, and that he will cleanse your heart from every bitter and negative thought, and fill you with that calm so deep that it is called the peace of God which passeth all understanding. We pray that he will heal your heart and soul, for the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ has healing virtue to change the lifeblood and make the nature new. We pray that he will grant you wisdom to act and to speak aright, and that he will himself intervene to resolve what you cannot resolve, aligning all things with his holy will. We pray that he will protect you from further hurt, keeping you under the shadow of his wing.

And we pray also for your brother, that God would accomplish his own work in him, making him more spiritually mature, more obedient to the Lord, more loving and more compassionate. Healing and pardon go together in the gospel, and we ask that both may be seen in this house.

Trust him, stay your mind upon him, and believe that what he has promised he will perform. He never plays fast and loose with men. What he has pardoned he has pardoned eternally, and what he has begun he will complete.

Your longing to forgive and to see this relationship restored is itself a good and godly desire, and I hear how heavy this hurt has been upon your heart. When a wound remains inside, it can indeed feel like a wall that keeps us from drawing near to God with freedom and peace, and your prayer to be freed from hurt and from lingering negative thoughts is right before the Lord.

Let us pray together in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have reconciliation with God by the blood of His cross.

Let us pray that God will grant you grace to forgive completely, not only in word but from the heart, so that bitterness does not take root and your heart may be made pure and kept in His peace. Christ has taught us that the peacemakers are called sons of God, and He Himself came to bring peace between heaven and earth. As you seek to leave aside resentment and pursue peace, He will meet you and give rest to your soul, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Let us pray that God will give you wisdom in every step with your brother, and that He will intervene in this difficult relationship according to His will. Where human strength fails, God is able to make a way for understanding, for right boundaries, and for reconciliation where it is possible and wise. May He guide your words and your silence, that all may be done in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Let us pray that God will heal your heart and soul and guard you from further hurt. He knows the depth of this pain and He is near to the brokenhearted. May He wash away what has wounded you, renew your mind, and surround you with His peace which guards heart and thought, so that you may draw closer to Him without hindrance.

Let us pray also for your brother, that God will accomplish His work in him, leading him to greater spiritual maturity, to obedience, to a more loving and compassionate heart. Just as each of us needs the Lord's mercy and correction, so we ask that God will draw him nearer to Christ, soften what is hard, and teach him to walk in love.

Continue to bring this burden to the Lord in prayer, trusting not in your own power to forgive or to fix, but in His grace which reconciles and restores. May the God of peace, who through Christ has made peace for us, fill you with His peace and keep you in His will. Amen.
