Can someone please pray with me to get a home loan we have struggled to stay in our home of 20 years a home in which my children grew up in, a home my grandchildren have known as home, we rent and our landlord evicted us to sell the home but we might be able to get a home loan sorry I'm really not trying to sound greedy. I know I could give more detail but I'm trying not to cry as it is.

We hear the deep love and attachment you have for this home, where your children grew up and your grandchildren have known as their own. The pain of displacement is heavy, and the fear of losing that sense of belonging is real. You are not greedy, you are a steward of memories, a provider for your family, and a faithful servant seeking stability. The Lord sees your heart, and He cares about the details of your life, including this home.

The Bible tells us in Psalm 37:25, "I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread." The Lord is your provider, and He knows your needs before you even ask. In Matthew 6:31-33, Jesus reminds us, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." This is not a promise of material excess, but of God’s faithfulness to meet the needs of those who seek Him first.

We also recognize the weight of financial struggles and the uncertainty of loans and approvals. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." The process may feel overwhelming, but God is not limited by credit scores or financial systems. He can open doors no man can shut and provide in ways you may not yet see.

Let us pray with you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of hope and trust in Your provision. You are the God who sees, the God who knows, and the God who provides. We lift up this family to You, Lord, asking that You would open the door for them to secure a home loan if it is Your will. You know the love and memories tied to this home, and You know the stability it would bring to their lives. We ask that You would remove any obstacles, soften the hearts of those who make decisions, and provide favor in this process.

Father, we also pray for peace in this season of transition. Calm their fears and anxieties, reminding them that You are their refuge and strength. Help them to trust in Your timing and Your plan, even when the path is unclear. If this home is not the one You have for them, prepare their hearts for the next step and lead them to the place You have ordained.

Lord, we ask that You would bless their finances, their efforts, and their faith. Provide for them in ways that only You can, and let them experience Your goodness in tangible ways. May this family continue to seek You first in all things, knowing that You will never leave them nor forsake them.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who provides for all our needs according to His riches in glory. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to remain open to His guidance. Financial decisions can be stressful, but God is faithful to lead you step by step. The tears you are striving to hold back are not a sign of greed, but of love for the home where your children grew and grandchildren know. Our Home Mission needs men and women who can weep, for such are close to the heart of Christ who Himself wept over Jerusalem. Let us together seek the Lord with prayer, for unless there be prayer at home, how shall the winds of heaven be loosed to speed our course? I will pray with you that this mountain of a loan may become a plain before the God of Zerubbabel. Bank up your faith as one banks the fire to keep it alight until you come home, knowing that faith procures for the believer everything he requires. And remember, whatever the outcome, the dearest home is that to which our Master bid us go, home to our friends, to tell what great things the Lord has done. Even now, He prepares a place for you, and soon you shall go home to the friends of Paradise.

The tears you fight to hold back are known to God, and He does not despise a heart broken by the fear of losing shelter. When distress comes from the same cause, it brings its own peculiar sting. To face eviction from the home where your children grew and your grandchildren know welcome is a trial that comes very near, like bonds and imprisonment to the body. It is not greed to desire stability. It is the cry of a mother, like the one who left her afflicted daughter at home and ran to the Master's feet, crying, "Have mercy on me."

But in this urgent hour, mark well the danger, lest sorrow become a snare. I have warned that many come to hear, but hearing, they go home bearing nothing, only wondering at what was said. You ask for prayer, which is good, for we must take refuge in the will of God, saying, "If by any means I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God." Press on with that same mind, desiring deliverance from this distress. Yet remember, at home we are often galled by disordered circumstances, a situation that urges the soul toward desperate measures. Just as at home you must practice not being tempted into swearing when provoked, so now you must practice not being tempted into despair or into measuring God's love by a loan approval.

Consider your home not only as a place of memory but as a field where spiritual things might grow. When domestic affairs are well conducted, there is room for heaven. She who keeps at home with soberness avoids luxury and unseasonable expenses. Has this trial exposed any unseasonable expense or worldly attachment that has gone unexamined? For the Apostle shows such care for domestic concerns, yet always to make room for spiritual things. Your grandmother's home is precious, but do you condemn your fathers who loved mere buildings more than the Builder? Examine yourself: is the terror of displacement so great because the house itself has become an idol, a place where the terrors of hell feel present only if the roof is lost? If you had not heard the warnings to lay up treasure in heaven, you would not have sin in this; but now, hear that no earthly home is permanent.

Follow the reverence of Peter. He had his wife's mother lying sick at home, yet he did not draw the Lord into the house first. He waited, he preferred the things of others and the teaching finished before his own urgent need. Do likewise. Do not make the loan the first and only petition, as if the Master is merely a lender of funds. Seek first the kingdom, and wait upon His teaching in this trial. Cry out, "Have mercy on me!" for your household's soul, for their eternal shelter. That is no small thing to bring before God, and it covers all lesser needs with grace. Let your prayer, then, be this: that whether in this house or in some other, you may with your children be refreshed in the Lord, delivered from the heaviness of a worldly spirit, and taught to say with truth, "Here we have no continuing city, but we seek one to come." That home loan, if it be the will of God, will not flee from such a prayer, nor will a refusal destroy the one who prays it.

Even before you named it, I could feel the weight in what you wrote. Twenty years of laughter echoing through hallways, children growing from toddlers to adults, grandchildren learning what “home” means within those walls, that is not greed. That is love. That is the kind of security God placed in the human heart, and grieving its possible loss is not weakness; it is the mark of how much that home has been a gift.

Sometimes, when the future of a place hangs in the balance, we are tempted to look only at what we stand to lose. Yet the Lord often uses seasons like this to shift our gaze just enough to see that His hand has never loosened its grip. In Joseph’s life, there were long, bewildering years when he must have felt severed from every family tie, far from the father who doted on him, far from the home he knew. He sat in prison, innocent, with every natural reason to cry out, “God, where are You in this?” Later, he could look back and declare, “God sent me before you to preserve life.” He could see that the forced departure, the loneliness, the loss of his old familiarity were not the end of the story. The same God who preserved that family is watching over yours, and He sees the loan, the landlord, and the tears you are trying not to cry.

That does not mean you have to pretend the pain is small. David’s own household fell into chaos after his sin, with calamities touching his wives and children, yet God did not abandon His promise to bring the Messiah through that very family line. Redemption runs deeper than our worst fears. Whether the house is kept or the path shifts in a direction you cannot yet imagine, the Lord knows how to maintain His purposes through a thousand details you cannot orchestrate.

While you wait and pray over the loan, there is a deeper home-building happening. The Scriptures speak of Christ settling down in our hearts by faith, making Himself truly at home. When He looks around the rooms of your inner life, is He a welcomed resident, or a guest made to feel awkward by the things we have not yet surrendered? One of the greatest works God can do in a season of uncertainty is to strengthen you with might in the inner person, so that whether you rise or bend under pressure, you are rooted and grounded in a love that cannot be repossessed. Earthly dwellings can be sold, but a heart where Jesus is comfortable and at ease becomes a sanctuary no eviction notice can touch.

So pray boldly about that loan. Pour out your heart to the Father who names every family in heaven and on earth. Ask Him to make a way where the numbers say there is none. And at the same time, ask Him to let this trial deepen your roots more than any mortgage could. The home where your grandchildren have run and laughed is precious; how much more the eternal home He is preparing for all who trust in Him. Let the same Spirit who kept Benjamin safe, who elevated Joseph from a pit to a palace, who watched over Esther when she had to hide her family heritage, go before you now. He has not forgotten your address. He has numbered your tears. And He is more committed to the well-being of your household than you yet know.
