For this reason, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, WE DO NOT CEASE giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers, that the God of Our Lord Jesus Christ, The Glorious Father, may give to us The Ho]ly Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to know Him better (Epignonowsko -- deep, personal and intimate acquaintance). Grant the eyes of our heart to be enlightened so we may know the hope of Your calling, the riches of Your glorious inheritance those You called out of darkness to light, and the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe, which You exerted when You raised Christ (The Anointed and Promised King -- Messiah -- Like King David referred to King Saul as "The Lord's Anointed," -- only Jesus is "The True David of Judah's Line," "The Lord's TRUE Anointed") from the dead and seated Him at Your Right Hand in the Heavenly Places, (Right Hand of Power, Dan 7:13-14), far above all other rule, authority, power and dominion, both in this age and the age to come, and everything having been put under subjection under His feet, The Father has made Him the Head of over all things and given You (all) power for the church, which is which is Your body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. We lift our hearts in deep gratitude for your earnest prayer rooted in Ephesians 1:15-23, seeking the Holy Spirit of wisdom and revelation to know God more intimately. Your hunger for epignosis, true, experiential knowledge of Him, is a beautiful reflection of the Spirit’s work in your life. We join you in thanking the Father for the hope of His calling, the riches of His inheritance, and the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe, demonstrated in Christ’s resurrection and exaltation above all rule and authority.

Father, we ask that You would indeed open the eyes of our hearts wider still. Enlighten us to grasp the depth of Your love, the height of Your sovereignty, and the breadth of Your grace. May we walk in the fullness of Christ’s authority, submitted to His lordship, and empowered by His Spirit to live as ambassadors of Your kingdom. Strengthen our faith to see beyond the temporal and fix our gaze on the eternal, where Christ is seated at Your right hand, far above every name that is named.

We also pray for discernment, that we would not be swayed by the empty philosophies of this world or the deceptions of the enemy. Guard our minds and hearts, Lord, that we may stand firm in the truth of Your Word. Let us not grow weary in doing good, but press on toward the upward call of God in Christ Jesus, knowing that our labor in the Lord is never in vain.

And to those who may be reading this prayer, if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider the gravity of this moment. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Turn from sin, embrace Christ, and be reconciled to God.

We declare together: Christ is all, and in all! May His name be exalted in our lives, our families, and our world. We pray this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, the Lord’s true Anointed. Amen.

What a gift to be reminded that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work toward us who believe, not a distant, theoretical power, but a living strength available right now for our ordinary days and hidden struggles.

Your heart for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation resonates deeply. That Greek word epignosis, a personal, intimate knowing, captures something we all hunger for: not just facts about God, but the kind of knowing that changes how we see everything. We're grateful you've called us into that longing with you.

There's a quiet steadiness in this passage that often gets overlooked. Paul didn't just pray this for the Ephesians and move on; he kept praying it without ceasing. So we join you in simply asking, and asking again, for eyes to see what is already true, the hope, the inheritance, the power, even when circumstances blur our vision.

We also appreciate how you've anchored all of this in the church, Christ's body. We weren't meant to know God in isolation. The fullness of Him who fills all in all is somehow expressed through flawed, stumbling people learning to love each other. That's both humbling and hopeful.

Lord Jesus, we ask with our friend for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to fall afresh on us. Enlighten the eyes of our hearts, not just our minds, so we know You in that deep, personal way this prayer describes. When life feels small or heavy, anchor us in the hope of Your calling and the certainty of Your inheritance. Let the surpassing greatness of Your power sustain us this week, simply because we belong to You. Amen.

It is a blessed thing when the Spirit of God stirs His people to such pleading, for these groanings are the breath of the new nature. You have asked for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, and this is the very core of all true wisdom. Far too many seek to know about God with the head alone, but the promise is that we may know Him, epignowsko, a deep, personal, intimate acquaintance which is wrought only in the heart. The invisible God is not discovered by mere reason; the eyes of our understanding must be flooded with light from above, or we grope in darkness. When grace renews the fountain of our strength, turns out our idols, and gives us a new heart, then we admire His character and behold His beauty. This is heart-knowledge, a thing beyond book-learning, a wisdom that makes us loathe every false way and walk humbly before Him.

You have grasped the hope of His calling, the riches of His inheritance, and the exceeding greatness of His power. All these are treasures locked up in Christ Jesus, for He is the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Consider the resurrection: that same almighty might which raised the Anointed King from the dead and set Him at the right hand of power is now at work in those who believe. It is no small display, He is far above all rule, authority, and dominion, and everything is put under His feet. Yet this is the very power which is toward us! What a hope this kindles! What a guarantee of our inheritance! The Head of the church is above all, and His fullness fills His body, so that we draw from His inexhaustible strength. Will we not, then, prove in our experience that Christ is the power of God?

But mark this: such knowledge and power are not given to gratify a speculative mind. They come so that we may reign with Him even now over sin and the world, as priests of God and of Christ. The one who has part in this first resurrection, this spiritual quickening, shall not be hurt of the second death. And observe the source of our prevailing with God. It is His own nature, a God of compassion, and His own promises, which faith pleads with a holy boldness. When the church laid hold of the promise, Peter was delivered from prison. When you plead the relationships of grace, you have power with the Most High. Therefore, let us not cease in this intercession, but seek a fuller apprehension of Him who fills all in all. As we gaze upon the throne of God and of the Lamb, we shall soon join the eternal song, for we shall see that the throne is in the midst of His people, and we shall be satisfied when we awake in His likeness.

Never cease to give thanks and to make mention of this prayer, for the Apostle himself yearned with a sympathy beyond measure, making his prayer for whole peoples, ceaselessly giving thanks that the eyes of your heart may be flooded with light. What you seek is nothing other than to know the hope of His calling and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. And what are these riches? Reflect on the ineffable treasure! God has promised to make us partakers of His only-begotten Son. He emptied Himself of His glory, becoming poor, that you through His poverty might become rich: rich in the knowledge of godliness, the cleansing away of sins, justification, sanctification, and all the countless good things He purposes to bestow. This is the marvel, that His poverty has made our riches rich.

See now the exceeding greatness of His power. What strength did He work in Christ? He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority, making Him heir of all. Herein is declared both His proper sonship and His indefeasible sovereignty. If He has put all things in subjection under His feet and given Him as head over all things for the church, then the kingdom of God has indeed come upon you. This is a work of the greatest power, and He who shed abroad His Spirit into our hearts has already delivered us from vengeance and stretched forth His hand to give you a baptism of remission and an inheritance of a kingdom.

Only do not let the devil’s craft lead you to overreach through vain reasoning, asking “How?” when you should worship. The son of thunder, when he heard from the Spirit, enquired no further. If someone asks how our souls and bodies should have endless life in the world to come, we laugh at the question, knowing we ought only to believe. So gaze upon this true Light without striving to overshoot the limitless Life by force of intellect. You have been called into the fellowship of God’s Son not by heathen philosophy but by the grace of God, in all utterance and all knowledge. Therefore be confirmed unto the testimony of the Lord by these very riches and by this grace which was given to you in Christ Jesus before the ages began. It is a faithful God who has called you, and His gifts are without repentance. May you be made steadfast in this hope, and may your love abound for all the saints, even as you have already heard of the grace of God working powerfully among those who believe.

No one has seen the Father at any time, but the Son has made Him known. If you want to know what God is like, look at Jesus. The Spirit opens your eyes to see Him as He truly is, not just as a figure in Scripture, but as the living Lord who is seated at the Father’s right hand, far above every power. That intimate, personal acquaintance you long for comes as the Spirit takes what belongs to Christ and makes it real in your heart.

You prayed for the hope of His calling. That hope is anchored in the very power that raised Jesus from the dead and exalted Him in the heavenly places. His resurrection is not just a past event; it is the guarantee that everything God has promised will come to pass. The calling is to belong to Him completely, to be transformed into His likeness, and to share in His glory. Time may stretch out before us, but from God’s eternal vantage point, the day of full redemption is always at hand. The Spirit is given to you now as a down payment, an earnest of your inheritance until the final redemption when you will be wholly His. That same power is at work in you, enabling you to stand firm and live as a witness of Jesus in this age.

The riches of His inheritance that you asked to know are not measured in earthly wealth. They are bound up in this astonishing truth: that God sees His people as His own treasured possession. You are part of that inheritance. He delights in you with a love that is beyond comprehension. Paul prayed that believers might know how much God values them. Let that sink in. The Creator of all things finds pleasure in fellowship with you. This is why the heart of everything we do must be love. Loving God with every part of our being and loving one another as He loves us is not a burden but the overflow of understanding how deeply we are loved.

When you pray for eyes to be enlightened, you are inviting the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any way that falls short of His glory. That is a brave and necessary prayer. The Lord sees beyond outward appearances, right into the thoughts and intents. Ask Him continually, as David did, to try you and know your anxious thoughts, to see if there is any way of wickedness in you, and to lead you in the way everlasting. He does not expose hidden things to shame you, but to heal and make you more like Jesus.

Keep making this your prayer, not just for yourself but for all the saints. As you do, you will find that the Spirit strengthens you with power in your inner being, and Christ dwells in your heart through faith. You will be rooted and grounded in love, able to grasp what is the width and length and depth and height of the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge. That is the wisdom and revelation that truly fills a life.

May the Spirit continue to open your eyes until the day we join the countless multitude around the throne, declaring with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.” Until then, let the hope of your calling and the riches of His inheritance shape everything you do.
