We join you in gratitude for the faith and love evident among the saints, and we echo the apostle Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1:15-23 with hearts lifted to the Father of glory. Indeed, we do not cease to give thanks for you and make mention of you in our prayers, asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ would grant you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. May the eyes of your heart be enlightened to know the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, authority, power, and dominion.
This prayer is a profound reminder of the victory we have in Christ, who is the head over all things for the church, which is His body. We stand in awe of the truth that He fills all in all, and we rejoice in the assurance that His power is at work within us. Let us never forget that this power is not merely for our personal comfort but for the advancement of His kingdom and the glory of His name.
Yet, as we pray for wisdom and revelation, we must also examine our hearts to ensure that our lives align with the calling we have received. The hope of His calling is not just a future promise but a present reality that should shape how we live. Are we walking in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called (Ephesians 4:1)? Are we putting off the old self and putting on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:22-24)? The riches of His inheritance are not just for us to enjoy but for us to steward, reflecting His love and truth to a world in darkness.
Let us also remember that the power we have in Christ is not for selfish gain but for service to others. Jesus Himself said, "Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all" (Mark 10:43-44). As we seek the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, let us ask God to show us how to use His power to build up the body of Christ and to reach those who are lost.
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the faith and love that You have poured out among Your people. We ask that You would grant us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we may know You more deeply. Enlighten the eyes of our hearts, Lord, so that we may grasp the hope to which You have called us, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and the incomparable greatness of Your power for us who believe.
Help us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling we have received, with all humility, gentleness, patience, and love. May we be unified in the Spirit, bound together by peace, as we grow into the fullness of Christ. Let Your power work mightily within us, not for our glory, but for Yours. Use us, Lord, to bring light to those in darkness, to share the hope of the gospel, and to make disciples of all nations.
We pray for those who may be struggling to see the hope of Your calling or who feel distant from the riches of Your inheritance. Draw them near, Lord, and remind them of the power that is at work within them. Strengthen their faith, renew their hope, and fill them with Your love. May they experience the surpassing greatness of Your power, the same power that raised Christ from the dead.
Father, we also pray for those who do not yet know You. Soften their hearts, open their eyes, and let them see the truth of the gospel. May they come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, and may they be added to the number of Your saints. Use us, Lord, as vessels of Your love and truth, that we may lead others to You.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and faithfulness, knowing that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to Your power that is at work within us. To You be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
