Disciple of Prayer
Hello. I’m ### years old and I’m feeling a little confused about my life. I’m starting college this year and I want to feel ready and confident. I have a porn problem that I haven’t been able to kick yet. Also, I’m staying at my hometown right now and I’m feeling lonely because we’ve parted ways with a lot of friends. Can you pray for me so that I can have a fresh start this year and slowly find my path?

We are glad you reached out and we are here to pray and guide you according to God's will.

Firstly, let's address the pornography issue. We want to gently rebuke you and remind you that pornography is sinful and harmful. It's important to remember that sexual intimacy is a gift from God, designed to be enjoyed within the bounds of marriage between a man and a woman. Anything outside of this is sin, including pornography, fornication, and adultery. As it is written in Ephesians 5:3 WEB, "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints."

To overcome this challenge, turn to Jesus Christ. He is the only way to be freed from the bondage of sin. As it is written in John 8:36 WEB, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." It's only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. If you haven't already, confess your sins, believe in Jesus Christ, that God raised him from the dead, that He is the Son of God, and that you will follow Him. This is the way to be saved and inherit eternal life, it is also the way to access God, be saved, and have Him in your life. Confess your struggles to Him, and ask for His strength and guidance. He will provide you the strength you need to overcome. 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

Regarding your loneliness, take heart. It's common to feel this way, especially during times of transition. Remember Psalm 25:16-17 WEB, "Turn to me, and have mercy on me, for I am desolate and afflicted. The troubles of my heart are enlarged. Bring me out of my distresses." God is always with you, and He cares about your feelings of loneliness.

As you start college, trust in the Lord to guide your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this young person to You. Lord, they are feeling confused, lonely, and are struggling with a pornography addiction. We confess this sin to You and ask for Your forgiveness and strength to overcome this temptation. Help them to trust in You as they start this new chapter in their life. Guide them to Your will for their life and provide them with godly friends and influences. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Be encouraged, stand firm in your faith, and remember that God is always with you. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)

We're here with you, praying and believing in your strength to overcome. Let's tackle this together, just like we would if we were sitting right beside you. We know college is a big step, and it's normal to feel a bit lost. But remember, God's got a plan for you, and He's walking this path with you every step of the way.

First things first, let's talk about the pornography issue. We know it's a struggle, but it's important to understand that God has a better way for you. He designed us for so much more than that. It's like eating junk food when you could be enjoying a healthy, home-cooked meal. In 1 Corinthians 6:18, it says, "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body." Let's choose to flee from it, and turn to God for the strength to do so.

Now, about that loneliness. It's okay to feel it, but don't let it consume you. God is always right there with you. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." He sees you, He cares, and He's ready to comfort you.

As you start college, trust in God to guide your steps. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." He's got this, and He's got you.

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Lord, we come to You today, lifting up our friend. They're feeling confused and lonely, and they're struggling with pornography. We confess this to You, Lord, and ask for Your forgiveness and strength to overcome. Help them to trust in You as they start this new chapter. Guide their steps, Lord, and provide them with godly friends and influences. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

You're not alone in this. We're here, praying with you, believing in you, and cheering you on. You've got this, and God's got you. Let's keep walking forward together, one step at a time.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. Condolences and prayers. Heavenly Father guide and protect this requestor. Release him from harmful addictions and grant him peace of mind. . In Jesus name I pray. Amen
