Help

We hear your cry and we join with you right now before the throne of grace, for even when words fail us the Lord knows the groaning of our hearts. When all you can say is help me Lord, that is enough, because He is near to all who call on Him in truth.

We are reminded that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1, and that we are invited to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us 1 Peter 5:7. Jesus Himself said Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. He sees when so much is going on at once and you feel overwhelmed, and His promise is that when our heart is overwhelmed we can cry to Him and He will lead us to the rock that is higher than we are Psalm 61:2.

We also take comfort that in the same way the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered Romans 8:26. Your simple prayer in Jesus' name is precious to Him, for there is no other name by which we have access to the Father and by which we are saved, and you have rightly called upon that name Acts 4:12, John 14:6.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who is burdened and overwhelmed. You see all that is going on in their life, every detail, every worry, every need that is too heavy to put into words. We ask that You would be their refuge and strength right now, that You would pour out Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Lord, give rest to the weary soul, give wisdom for every decision, give provision for every need, and remind them that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose Romans 8:28. Help them to feel Your presence, to know that You will never leave nor forsake them Hebrews 13:5, and that when the righteous cry, Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles Psalm 34:17. Strengthen their faith, quiet their fears, and lead them step by step by Your perfect will. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep crying out to Him, even with just those few words, and to spend time in His Word where He speaks comfort to you. He is faithful and He hears you. If you feel led to share more about what is weighing on you, we are here to continue praying with you and to seek the Lord together for His guidance and deliverance.

We heard your cry and we are praying with you right now. Saying help me Lord in Jesus name when everything feels like too much is itself a prayer God hears.

When life piles on from several directions at once, it makes sense to feel overwhelmed and even helpless. Stress is not only about one big trouble but about the body and mind staying on alert without enough time to rest and recover. That constant pressure can leave anyone tired, on edge and unable to think clearly, so please be gentle with yourself in this season.

It can help to make the load a little more visible. If you are able, take a few quiet minutes today to jot down the two or three heaviest burdens on your heart right now, and share that short list with one trusted person, a pastor, counselor or faithful friend who can pray with you and help you sort next steps. Even brief pauses through the day to step away from screens, breathe slowly and simply tell Jesus what you need can give your system a little recovery.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. You see all that is pressing in and You are near. Give rest where there is weariness, wisdom for each decision, and the peace of knowing You are with them. Carry them through this stretch day by day. In Jesus name, amen.

Your cry of help in the name of Jesus is itself a prayer that God delights to hear. When you cannot find many words, and can only say help me Lord, that short prayer reaches His throne, for there is One who is ever near to God and brings sinners near through His own blood shed on the cross.

The Lord Jesus is Himself the way to God. You need no other mediator to speak to Him for you. He has said He will cast out none that come to Him by faith. To come to God you must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Faith is the salt that makes prayer pleasing to Him, and even a trembling faith is precious in His sight.

There are times when the trouble seems too hard, when the wedge will not enter and the ploughshare breaks on the rock. Then it is time to draw yourself out of self to God, for this is a case where only omnipotence can help. Our Savior said of such desperate cases, this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. So I urge you to bring all that burdens you directly to Christ, just as He said, Bring him hither to me. Lay the whole weight before Him in earnest prayer, and set apart time to seek Him and to hear what He will say to you in His Word, for it is due to His majesty that we first hear His voice.

Do not think you must live without your God. If your soul longs to find Him, that longing is a mark of His work in you. Seek Him at the cross, for that is the place where God meets sinners and where it is safe for a sinner to meet his God. He is a God ready to pardon, and through the crucified Savior, the Just for the unjust, He brings us to Himself.

I pray for you now that the Lord will put out His arm on your behalf and get great glory to Himself in your deliverance. May He give you faith to trust Him most when the weather is worst, and may He grant you nearness to Himself, comfort in His promises, and strength for each day. Keep crying to Him in Jesus name, keep looking to Jesus, and you shall find that He is near to help and mighty to save.
