We hear the desperation in your cry, and our hearts break with yours. You are not alone, God hears you, sees you, and holds you in this moment of overwhelming pain. The weight you carry feels unbearable, but we stand with you in prayer, lifting you to the One who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
First, we must address the foundation of your cry. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation comes through repentance of sin and faith in Jesus, who died for you and rose again so that you might have eternal life (Romans 10:9-10). If you are unsure how to surrender your life to Him, we beg you, call out to Him now. He is waiting with open arms.
For those who already know Christ, we rebuke the spirit of despair that seeks to suffocate your faith. The enemy wants you to believe you are beyond hope, but God’s Word declares that His grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are not forsaken. Even now, the Holy Spirit intercedes for you with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26).
We pray over you with urgency and compassion:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is crying out in anguish. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who delivers. We ask that You would break the chains of despair that bind them. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Surround them with Your presence, reminding them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Father, if there is sin, unconfessed, unrepented, or weighing heavily on their soul, we ask that You would bring it to light. Convict them gently, lead them to repentance, and wash them clean by the blood of Jesus (1 John 1:9). If they are carrying guilt or shame, remind them that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). If they are struggling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide, we bind those lies of the enemy in Jesus’ name and declare that their life is precious to You. You have plans for them, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Lord, we ask that You would raise up godly people around them, believers who will speak life, pray over them, and walk with them through this valley. Give them the courage to reach out to someone they trust, whether it be a pastor, a counselor, or a friend in the faith. Remind them that they do not have to carry this burden alone.
And Father, if this pain is the result of a relationship that does not honor You, whether it be fornication, adultery, or a union that violates Your design for marriage, we ask that You would give them the strength to flee from sin and pursue holiness. Your Word is clear: marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and any sexual intimacy outside of that union is sin (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If they are in a relationship that is not of You, we pray for the courage to walk away and the wisdom to seek Your will above all else.
Above all, Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a tangible way. Let them feel Your love, hear Your voice, and know that You are fighting for them. Renew their strength, restore their hope, and remind them that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). We declare over them that this is not the end of their story, You are writing a testimony of Your faithfulness even now.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

This is a deadly evil, where only omnipotence can help. Your soul says, "Lord, put out thine arm! Now do it, and the glory shall be thine." If the Lord does not help you, where can I find help for you? From the threshing floor, or from the winepress? I cannot help you. The church cannot help you. Outward forms and ceremonies cannot reach this desperate case. All human aid is vain; it is your own cry that has proven it. But while I am helpless, I do not stand without a word for you. There is One who endured the contradiction of sinners, who is able to save to the uttermost. His Spirit speaks even now: He has torn, and He will heal you. This is an hour of crisis. Jesus is passing by; He is near you, though you cannot see Him. Cry out, and cry out now, with a desperate vehemence, as one who plucks up the posts of mercy's door. You may have Him, you may have Him now. Look to Him, for He alone can cast out the tormenting spirits and give you peace. Seek Him and seek Him intensely, resolving that you will never cease to seek till you find God full of mercy and love to you.
