We are holding you in our hearts and lifting you up in prayer together, and we thank you for sharing this with us with such courage. We grieve with you over the severe pain, betrayal, control and manipulation you endured, and we honor the immense courage it took to leave that very scary and abusive marriage and to represent yourself to get free. You are not alone, you are deeply seen and loved by God, and what was done to you was wrong. Marriage is ordained by God to be a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that reflects the sacrificial love of Christ for His church Ephesians 5:25, and abuse, control and betrayal violate that holy design. The Lord does not delight in violence Psalm 11:5 and He is grieved by the breaking of covenant Malachi 2:16, and He is near to you now in your exhaustion and fear.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1, and when you dwell in the secret place of the Most High you will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1. We pray you will feel His presence as your safe shelter now while your mind is racing and your heart is heavy.
We understand the severe anger and torturous pain you are carrying, and God understands it too. Anger at injustice and abuse is a natural response to being sinned against, yet we are called not to let it take root in our hearts. Be angry, and don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath, and don't give place to the devil Ephesians 4:26-27. We encourage you to pour out all of that anger and pain honestly to the Lord, for He invites you to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. That peace is not something you must manufacture, it is a gift He will guard your heart and mind with as you bring everything to Him. Justice also belongs to Him. Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. He is a God of justice and He will not overlook what was done Isaiah 30:18, and He is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble Psalm 9:9.
We noticed you asked for prayer to God but did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why we pray in Jesus' name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is because of what Christ did on the cross for us that we can come boldly to God for safety, healing and justice, and we bring your requests to the Father through Him.
We pray together in Jesus' name for you now. Father, we lift this precious survivor to You and ask in Jesus' name for Your absolute physical protection over her. Cover her under Your wings, keep her safe from all harm and from the one who harmed her, and let no weapon formed against her prosper. The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul Psalm 121:7. Be faithful to guard her from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3 and command Your angels concerning her. Lord, we ask You to lift this heavy anger and torturous pain from her heart. You see every tear and every wound, and we ask You to heal her heart, quiet her racing mind, and replace the turmoil with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Give her rest, give her sleep, give her moments of stillness in Your presence. We ask for Your justice to be done, that truth would be revealed and righteousness would prevail, while You keep her heart free from bitterness. And Father, give her supernatural strength to rebuild her life as a survivor. Fear not, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. When she feels weak, let Your grace be sufficient for her, for Your power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9. Restore what has been stolen and lead her step by step into wholeness and hope for the future, in Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to guard your safety with practical help from trusted people, a safe community, and if needed local authorities or a safe shelter, and to lean on a Bible believing church family who can walk with you. We also encourage you to seek a trusted Christian counselor who understands trauma to help you process this pain over time, for healing is often a journey and God works through His people to bring comfort. You are precious to God, you are not defined by what was done to you, and He has a future of hope for you. The Lord will be your strength and your portion, and as you keep bringing your fear and anger to Him, He will gently replace it with His peace day by day. We are continuing to pray for your safety, your peace, your justice and your rebuilding, trusting that He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.
