heartbroken healing

The heaviness of soul you describe is not from God, for He is not the author of confusion but of peace. When the heart clings to any creature with a passion that rivals or confuses the bond of marriage, it invites this very torment. The marriage bed is honorable, a union of one flesh that no man should rend asunder, yet you speak of another man as a “twin flame,” a phrase that has no root in Holy Scripture but belongs to the delusions of the world. That intense ache you feel for him is not innocent compassion; it is a fire that consumes your inner peace and anger against yourself is the natural fruit of a divided heart. Repent of this entanglement. Fling it away as you would a serpent. Marriage is a bond ordained of God; a harlot is a severing and a dissolving, and any affection that intrudes upon the covenant with your own husband is a spiritual severance, no matter how veiled in sympathy.

Your anguish for the sick is not wrong; even the Lord wept. But examine your sorrow: is it pure, or has it mingled with an attachment you dare not name? The enemy uses our legitimate grief to plant seeds of disorder. For this reason the Apostle bids us follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. Holiness in marriage means keeping your heart solely for your husband, not splitting it with another’s voice or memory. The ringing in your ears and the heaviness in your body may well be the cries of a soul starved of that single-eyed devotion. Yet there is mercy. Make no provision for the flesh, to fulfil its lusts. Cease messaging that man. Do not attend the performance tonight, for to stand and hear that voice which kindles a false flame would be to heap sin upon sorrow. Rather, go before the Lord in sackcloth and tears, and confess, “I have let a stranger into the garden of my heart.”

Turn then to your husband, for he is your true companion in the flesh, given you by God. Pray together. Use marriage with moderation, not as an idol but as a means to holiness, and you shall find the peace that surpasses understanding. The Apostle says, a brother is not under bondage in such cases, but you are under bondage to Christ, and He demands a whole heart. If your husband is difficult, let your chaste and respectful behavior win him without a word. Your anxiety and depression will lift as you stop nourishing a divided affection. Pour out your care for the sick into intercession, but with hands cleansed from all inward defilement. The Church is wedded to Christ, and every faithful soul is called to that spiritual marriage where alone the deepest longing is satisfied. He who is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Flee, then, from the broad way that leads to destruction. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, but the brokenhearted who cling to fragments of sin find no healing. Cut off the wrong attachment, and you will breathe again. I speak sharply because I love you, and I would not have you cast away with the wicked. Rise up, woman, and set your house in order. Your husband, your marriage, your own health, all can be restored as you fix your gaze on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross. Do not despise the chastening of the Lord, for whom the Lord loves He reproves. Go, and sin no more, and the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

I hear the weight in your words, the anxiety, the depression, the ringing that won’t stop, and the deep heartbreak over those you love who are suffering with cancer. You feel like a mess, and you’re angry at yourself for feeling this way. But notice what Jesus does with a soul that has been torn and cried out. He speaks with authority, not to condemn the one who is suffering, but to command peace. He says to the storm within, “Peace, be still,” and the wind ceases. The same voice that rebuked the unclean spirit and brought calm to the sea can speak into the chaos inside you right now. You are not too messy for Him. You are exactly the kind of person He draws near to with tenderness.

The guilt and anger you feel toward yourself, those are not from Him. Think of the man beaten down by a lifetime of grief over one foolish moment. Jesus looked at him with compassion and said, “Son, your sin is forgiven you.” What a relief that must have been for all that heavy guilt to be lifted. You are carrying sorrows that are not sinful; grief over a friend’s cancer, longing for healing in your own body, tension in your marriage. These burdens are real, but the enemy would love to add shame on top of them, whispering that you should be stronger. Jesus doesn’t do that. He looks at the hardest parts of your heart and says, “Daughter, go in peace, and be whole of your plague.” He wants wholeness for you, body, mind, and marriage.

Your intense connection to this man in the band has stirred something powerful and painful. But remember what Scripture says about the age to come: in the resurrection we are like the angels, no longer bound by marriage the way we are now. That deep sense of being “twin flames”, I understand it feels profound, but be careful not to anchor your hope or identity in any bond that goes beyond what God calls a marriage covenant. You and your husband are one flesh, a mystery where two become a compound unity under God. That is the relationship He promises to sustain and heal. When you message this other man out of that intense heartbreak, it may feel like comfort, but it can also add confusion to a soul already crying out for peace. Bring that whole ache to Jesus instead. He is not silent like an idol. When He was asked, “Are you the Christ?” He answered plainly, “I am.” He is the Son of God who has authority over every disease, every storm, every spirit of heaviness.

Lift your eyes to that authority now. The same mouth that commanded demons to come out, that told the sea to go calm, can speak over the cancer spreading in your friend’s bones and your other friend’s brain. We do not command sickness the way He did, but we can take our stand on the truth of who He is. Ask Him to rebuke what is devouring their bodies, and in the meantime, ask Him to give you a faith that rests even when the outer answer hasn’t yet come. Like Jairus, you may hear words of promise while messengers are already bringing bad news in the background. Hold on to the word He is speaking over you: Go in peace. Be whole. That peace is not a feeling that comes and goes; it is a command from the Master of wind and wave, meant to settle your spirit even while the battle rages.

Your marriage needs that same peace. You and your husband are not enemies. The strain between you can feel like a third presence, but the Lord who brought you together can still the friction. When Jesus looked at the man with the withered hand, He was grieved at the hardness of heart around Him, but He still said, “Stretch out your hand,” and restored it whole. My prayer is that He would grieve over anything hard that has grown between you and your husband, and then speak healing. May He stretch out His hand over your union and make it whole, a testimony of grace.

For your hearing, for the ringing that will not stop, and for the depression that clings so close, I simply ask the Lord to say over you what He said to that suffering woman: “Daughter, your faith has made you whole. Go in peace.” Be whole of that plague. Let those words settle into your mind tonight. When the feelings surge up again, remember that He is not far off. He is in the boat with you, and He is not panicked by the storm. Go in peace. Let His authority be your calm.

We want you to know how deeply we have carried your heart before the Lord these past days. It has been our privilege to stand in the gap for you, lifting up the weight of your anxiety, the ache in your spirit, and the heaviness that has settled in your heart. We have prayed specifically for the healing of your mind and emotions, asking God to replace the depression and frustration with His perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. We’ve cried out for your husband, interceding for his physical healing from the spreading cancer, and for the strength and comfort only the Holy Spirit can provide as he battles this disease. We’ve also prayed for your marriage, asking God to knit your hearts together, to restore joy, unity, and open communication between you both during this difficult season.

We’ve lifted up the burden you feel for your twin flame, asking the Lord to surround him with His presence and to give you a supernatural peace that guards your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We’ve prayed that tonight’s time together at the concert would be a moment of respite, a chance to feel God’s joy and presence even in the midst of trial. We asked the Lord to minister to both of you through the music and to remind you of His faithfulness.

If the Lord has moved in any of these areas—if you’ve felt even a moment of relief, a glimmer of hope, or a touch of His healing—we would be so grateful to hear about it. Your praise report would encourage not only us but others who are facing similar battles. If, however, the weight still feels heavy and the answers haven’t come yet, please know we are not finished praying. We will continue to stand with you, lifting up your requests as long as you need us. You are not alone in this.

May the Lord bless you with His presence in tangible ways this week. May He quiet the storm within you and fill you with His peace. May He strengthen your husband’s body and spirit, and may He draw you both closer to Him and to one another. We pray all these things in the powerful and mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
