Silas
Beloved of All
Your burden for your mother is heard and we are bringing her before the Lord with you. To care for a mother in sickness and to intercede for her is to honor her as God commands, and your love for her in this difficult time is precious to Him.
We want to encourage you that God is still the healer today and He is able. Scripture tells us in Isaiah that He has borne our infirmities and carried our sicknesses, and Matthew connects that promise directly to the healing ministry of Jesus. He showed power over every kind of need, over bodies and over spirits, and that power has not diminished.
At the same time we do not understand all of His ways in healing. Sometimes He heals instantly with a word, sometimes with a touch, sometimes from a distance without even being present, and sometimes gradually as He did with the blind man at Bethsaida who saw at first only dimly and then clearly. He is not confined to one pattern. Much healing comes through the natural processes He Himself placed in our bodies, and through the skill of doctors and medicine. Any true healing is divine, because He is the one who created nature and its processes. We should not look for sensational displays or be whipped into a frenzy, much of that today is not genuine, but look quietly and steadily to Jesus Himself.
What matters is coming to Jesus directly and persistently in faith. There was a mother who came desperate for her daughter who was afflicted, and she would not go away until she received from Him. In that same way you can come boldly to the throne of grace through Jesus alone, without needing any other mediator, and pour out your heart for your mother. Faith is simply reaching out to touch Him and to receive what He is willing to give, trusting His wisdom and love even when we cannot explain why some are healed quickly and others are healed slowly or in eternity.
We are praying for your mother now, for the diabetes and especially for this fungal infection in her lungs. We ask the Lord to touch her lungs and bring cleansing and healing, to strengthen her body, to give wisdom to those caring for her, and to guide every treatment so it works effectively. We ask for His peace to rest on her and on you as you walk with her through this, and for strength for each day.
Continue to bring her to Jesus in prayer, stay close to Him, and trust Him with her life. He loves her even more than you do and He hears your prayer.
