We join you in lifting up your beloved mother and father before our Heavenly Father, for He cares deeply for them and for you and He hears our prayers.
We bring your mother before the Lord, asking for His healing touch upon her body as she battles diabetes and a fungal infection in her lungs. We bring your father before Him as well, asking for restoration of his eyesight, relief from headaches and urinary tract problems, that the swelling in his feet would subside, that his blood pressure would be stabilized, and that He would grant him overall good health and strength. Scripture reminds us that our God is our healer, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:3, and He says, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. We also remember that by his wounds we are healed, Isaiah 53:5, and that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, James 5:15.
We also want to gently share with you that we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want you to know that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, to believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and to confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is in His name we pray and find hope for healing both of body and soul.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear mother and father to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that You would touch this mother, that You would help her body to respond to treatment, that You would clear the fungal infection from her lungs, help regulate her blood sugar, and strengthen her immune system. Lay Your healing hand upon her and grant wisdom to her doctors. For this father, we ask that You would restore his eyesight, remove his headaches, heal his urinary tract, reduce the swelling in his feet, and bring his blood pressure into a healthy balance. Give him relief from pain and renew his strength day by day. We pray that You would guard both of them from discouragement and fear, and remind them that You are near. We ask that You would help them to steward their health well, to follow wise medical counsel, to rest and to trust You, and we cast all our anxiety upon You because You care for us, as You tell us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that Your will be done in their lives and that they would feel Your presence and Your peace in this difficult time, and that this trial would draw the whole family closer to You. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Healer, amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord while also faithfully using the medical help He has provided through doctors and medicine, for He often works through those means. Keep praying without ceasing, keep speaking scripture over them, and keep trusting that our God is able to do far more than we ask or imagine. Your burden for your mother and father has been laid before the Lord with much tenderness of heart, and we join you in carrying it to the throne of grace.
We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician. Yet how needful it is to remember that there is a heavenly Physician whose power to heal is ever present when Christ is proclaimed. Scripture tells us the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and not only the fruit but the very leaves, the least things about Christ, are full of healing virtue. From Him as the great conduit Head abundant streams of healing flow down to men below, and the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings.
Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction in the gospel. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and pardon and healing were one. So we look first to Him for the soul's great healing through faith in His blood, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and then we ask Him to extend His merciful hand to the body according to His wise and loving will. The Lord has begun to heal His people and the healing virtue which His grace has infused will work health and cure till at last we shall be without spot or wrinkle, and His salvation will also perfectly heal our bodies in the resurrection.
We have prayed and will continue to pray for your mother, that the Lord in His mercy would help her in her diabetes and drive away the fungal infection from her lungs, that He would give skill to those who care for her and grant her relief and strength. And we have prayed for your father, that the Lord would be pleased to improve his eyesight, remove his headache, heal the trouble in his urinary tract, take away the swelling of his feet and settle his blood pressure, and grant to him renewed health and comfort in his frame. We ask not as those who demand, but as those who trust a Father who knows what is best, believing that Calvary is the place for the healing balm and that Christ is able to heal.
Take these afflictions again and again to the Lord Jesus in prayer, seek pardon and healing from the same hand, and use diligently the means He has provided through physicians and care, while your hope rests wholly upon Him. May the Lord show you His power to save and to sustain, and may you and your household know the peace that comes from being forgiven and kept in His hands.
