We lift up your parents before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, asking the Great Physician to move mightily on their behalf. Father, You are Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals, and we stand in faith on Your promises. For your mother’s diabetes and fungal infection in her lungs, we declare Your word in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says Yahweh. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity and command every cell in her body to align with Your perfect design. Strengthen her immune system, regulate her blood sugar, and cleanse her lungs of all infection. May she feel Your healing touch in every breath she takes.

For your father, we pray for complete restoration. His eyesight, headaches, urinary tract, swelling in his feet, and blood pressure, all these ailments cry out for Your divine intervention. We claim Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." Lord, we ask You to open his eyes to see clearly, both physically and spiritually. Ease his pain, flush out infection, reduce the swelling, and stabilize his blood pressure. Let him walk in the fullness of health You intended for him.

We also encourage both of them to seek wise medical counsel while trusting in Your sovereign power. Remind them to surrender their worries to You, for You care deeply for them (1 Peter 5:7). If there are areas in their lives where sin or unforgiveness may be hindering their healing, we pray for conviction and repentance, for Your word says in James 5:16, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed."

Lord, we ask that You would draw them closer to You through this trial. Let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and Your comfort in their time of need. Surround them with a community of believers who will uphold them in prayer and practical support.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and healed. It is through His sacrifice on the cross that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We declare that Your will be done in their lives, and we trust You for complete restoration. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We’re holding your parents and you before the Lord with you today. Carrying concern for both of them at once, a mother with diabetes fighting a lung infection, a father wrestling with so many symptoms, is heavy, and we’re sorry you’re in the middle of that kind of weight. It’s normal to feel pulled, worn, maybe even a little helpless when the people who raised you are suffering.

We’d gently encourage you to make sure each of them is getting the medical attention they need right now, especially your mom. A fungal infection in the lungs can be serious, and a pulmonologist or infectious disease doctor can tailor treatment to her diabetes as well. For your dad’s swelling, blood pressure, and other symptoms, a good checkup can catch what’s behind it all and bring some peace of mind. Faith and prayer work, and so does sound medicine, they’re not enemies.

You weren’t meant to carry all this alone, either. Chronic illness doesn’t just affect the one who’s sick; it reshapes the whole family. We hope you have a pastor or a few trusted friends from church you can lean on right now. Let them pray with you face to face, maybe help with a meal or a ride, and simply be there so your own strength doesn’t run dry.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this mother and father to You. Please guide every doctor and treatment, bring healing to her lungs, steady her blood sugar, and restore his eyesight, relieve his pain, and calm the swelling and pressure in his body. Sustain their child who loves them, give courage, rest, and the quiet confidence that You see and are near. Amen.

The leaves of the tree are for healing, and the very least things about Christ are charged with restoring power. Your mother’s fungal infection, your father’s manifold afflictions, feet swelling, blood pressure, eyes dimming, headache, urinary trouble, all these are tokens of the body’s groaning under the curse. But behold the Sun of Righteousness, risen with healing in His wings. Calvary is not the place for the lancet alone, but for the healing balm. There is abundance of healing virtue in Jesus, and it flows down to men below. Bring these sick ones before Him in prayer, as the palsied man was brought by faithful friends, for when Jesus sees faith, He speaks forgiveness, and healing follows hard upon it.

First forgiveness, then healing. He said to the paralyzed, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you,” and only then, “Arise, take up your bed, and go.” The inward cure secures the outward. Your parents’ deepest need is not merely for lungs cleared or blood pressure calmed, but for a real saving work from God’s own hand, a work no physician’s prescription can accomplish. Healing must come from the hand that was pierced. He took Peter’s mother’s mother by the hand and lifted her up; there was contact, the glorious doctrine of the Incarnation touching our feverish frame. That same hand is stretched out now. He is able to heal, and there are seasons when His power to save is more than usually manifest, acceptable days, days of visitation, days of salvation. Pray that this be such a season for your father and mother.

Do not go blundering about as if you could serve Christ by your own wisdom or win health by mere pleading. Healing must come before serving, and the desire to minister arises out of healing. Your filial love stirs you to cry out, but the Lord Himself must begin with them. He breaks hearts in order to bind them up; He wounds, and His hands make whole. The healing He gives changes the very lifeblood, affects the spirits, and makes the nature other than it was. Seek this for them, that they would not merely be rid of symptoms, but that they would be purged of every evil, brought to the tree of life whose very leaves are medicine for the nations. Welcome them to pardon and healing through our Lord Jesus. Who shall heal their diseases? The Lord who forgives all their iniquities. Lay hold of Him by faith, and let your parents be brought, in spirit, into the presence of the Great Physician. There is healing for them, and the word is nigh, return, return, and be healed.

Suffering visits your house like a bitter medicine, yet it is no sign of hatred but of a Father’s love. No correction feels pleasant at the moment; it brings grief. But afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness in those who have been trained by it. Your mother’s infected lungs and your father’s failing eyesight, his swollen feet and uneasy head, these are not arrows from an enemy. They are the pruning knife of the vinegrower. Do not despise this discipline or faint under it. Receive it with thanksgiving, for God desires to set your whole household on a firmer foundation.

Consider the body: the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you.” When one part suffers, everything suffers together. Your parents’ pains are your own, and your tireless care for them is a holy offering. Serve their weak bodies as if you were tending Christ Himself. It is better to visit the house of mourning than the house of feasting. In the sickroom there is no dangerous luxury to inflame the passions; there is only the sobering nearness of eternity. Let this trial drive away every worldly clamor so that your home becomes a little monastery, a quiet harbor where the soul can fast from anxiety and lie upon the ground of humility.

Yet do not look only to earthly remedies. Lift up your drooping hands and your feeble knees. Run to the physician who never fails. How tender is the Lord, who said, “How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her chicks, and you would not!” He longs to spread His healing wings over your parents. And He has given you a medicine more potent than any herb: His own blood.

Almost all things under the law were purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. But now we do not touch the type; we receive the reality. Hasten to the holy Mysteries. This blood, when taken with a clean conscience, drives demons far off, summons the angels, and waters the soul with a mighty, unseen power. Through it we become members of Christ’s flesh and of His bones. Let your parents, if they are able, draw near to the altar with reverent fear, and let your own faith cry out on their behalf. For this is the blood that cleansed the world; how much more will it bring relief to their afflicted bodies and clarity to their troubled minds? It sanctifies not only the soul but the very dwelling of the soul, making it terrible to the evil one.

Beware, however, of placing your trust in the table of indulgence. Many gain their headaches and swelling not from chance but from immoderate living. When the feast is over, the pleasure has vanished; only heaviness, sleeplessness, and a tongue that regrets its excess remain. Encourage your father especially to turn away from whatever burdens the flesh, and to seek the lightness that comes from a simple and disciplined life. Those who rise before the sun to sing hymns, free from the press of worldly business, do not inherit these sorrows. Imitate their serenity.

Commit both parents fully to the Lord of all, under whose feet every power has been placed in subjection. Their afflictions are not beyond His reach. Let them fix their gaze on the pierced side from which the blood and water flowed, and believe that He who gave His own body to nourish you will not refuse to restore health to their bodies in His own time. Return from the sacred table like lions breathing fire, terrible to the devil, full of a hope that cannot fail. The peaceable fruit will come, and until it does, the endurance itself is a precious unction for your souls.
