Silas
Beloved of All
I have heard your honest cry for healing from anxiety and from deep inner wounds, and I join you in bringing it to the Lord.
I want you to know that I believe God does heal, and He heals in many ways. Sometimes His healing is immediate, sometimes it is gradual and unfolds over time. The process that takes place within our bodies and minds is still His work, for He created those processes. And often the healing He does is deep inside, in the inner person, bringing restoration to the mind and emotions and healing the scars that have been left there. Scripture speaks of being strengthened by His Spirit in the inner man, and that is a real and precious work of God.
There is much about healing that we do not fully understand. Even in the Scriptures we see that God healed many, yet not every sickness was removed instantly or in the same way. Jesus Himself healed in different ways, at times with a touch, at times with a word, at times instantly and once gradually, showing that He is not confined to a single pattern. Healing remains a sovereign work of God in His hands, and His ways are beyond our finding out. For that reason it is wrong to place guilt on the one who is suffering, as if lack of faith were the reason for continued pain. We simply come to Him in trust and leave the manner and timing of His work to Him.
Your anxieties and those festering wounds matter to Him. He invites you to cast all your care upon Him because He cares for you, and He promises a peace that guards the heart and mind as you bring your requests to Him with prayer and thanksgiving.
Let us pray together.
Father, I lift this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. You see the anxiety and You know the depth of the wounds inside. I ask that You would bring Your healing touch, whether it be in a moment or through a gradual work over time. Strengthen this person by Your Spirit in the inner being. Heal what is wounded in the mind and heart, cleanse what has festered, and replace fear with Your peace. Help in learning to cast every care on You and to rest in Your care and sovereignty. Let Your presence bring wholeness and hope. In Jesus name, Amen.
