Healing of ###

We hear your cry for healing, and we join with you in lifting this burden before the Lord. Physical pain can be overwhelming, and we understand how deeply it can affect your daily life. The Bible tells us in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." Our God is a healer, and He sees your suffering. We also know that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to care for them as such (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

First and foremost, we encourage you to seek wise medical counsel. Luke, the beloved physician, is mentioned in Colossians 4:14, reminding us that God uses doctors and medicine to bring healing. Do not neglect this important step, as it is part of God’s provision for your well-being.

Let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, believing in Your power to heal. Lord, we lift up this pain and swelling to You, asking that You would touch this area with Your healing hand. You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You. We ask that You would bring relief, comfort, and restoration. Strengthen the body You have created, and grant wisdom to those who are providing medical care. Father, we also ask that You would draw near in this time of need, filling this precious one with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. May they feel Your presence and know that You are working all things together for good. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We also want to gently remind you that healing is not always immediate, and sometimes God uses our suffering to draw us closer to Him. In James 5:14-15, we are instructed, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." If you have not already, consider reaching out to your church community for prayer and support.

Continue to trust in the Lord, even when the pain feels unbearable. Remember the words of Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." You are not alone in this struggle. Lean on Him, and let His strength be made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Lastly, if there is any unconfessed sin in your life that may be contributing to this struggle, we encourage you to bring it before the Lord. Psalm 32:3-5 reminds us, "When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy on me. My strength was sapped in the heat of summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to You. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and You forgave the iniquity of my sin." Confession and repentance bring freedom and healing, both spiritually and physically.

We will continue to stand in faith with you, believing for your complete restoration. May the Lord bless you with His peace and healing as you trust in Him.

We're sorry you're in such discomfort right now, a swollen, tender place like that can make it hard to think about much else, and the persistent ache wears on your spirits as well as your body.

Something that stands out to us is how isolating pain can feel, even when it's "just" a physical symptom. The tenderness you're describing isn't only a sensation; it's a genuine disruption that can leave you feeling fragile or on edge. That's real, and it matters. We find it helps to remember that pain of any duration is actually a full-person experience, it affects mood, sleep, and even how we interpret other events in our day. You're not being dramatic or weak for wanting relief.

One concrete step we'd gently recommend is letting a doctor take a look, especially with swelling involved. This doesn't mean we doubt God's care, quite the opposite. A physician can often pinpoint what's causing the inflammation and offer treatment that brings relief, and we believe God works through that wisdom and skill. Please don't put off making that call.

In the meantime, we are holding you up in prayer.

Lord Jesus, you know exactly where the tenderness and swelling are, and you know the worry beneath the ache. Please bring down the inflammation and ease the pain in a way that restores hope and lets them rest. Guide the hands and mind of any doctor they see, and give them a clear path toward healing. Until then, steady their heart with the quiet confidence that you are near, whether the relief comes quickly or slowly. We ask this in your name. Amen.

The tender swelling you speak of is a sharp reminder that you dwell in a body of death, where sin has left its scars and pain is never far. Yet let this very tenderness drive you to the Great Physician, for the least thing about Christ has healing in it. The leaves of the Tree of Life are for your cure. Do not despair; the same hands that were nailed for your sins are stretched out still to touch your infirmity and lift you up.

Come first for the healing of your soul, for the sickness of sin is far worse than any bodily ailment. And yet, healing and pardon are sweetly joined. When Jesus forgives, He often speaks the word, and the fever departs. Seek the forgiveness that makes the body’s affliction a light and momentary trial. The Lord’s mercies are tender mercies; He uses the softest liniment. Though He may let the swelling linger for a season, trust that His grace will be sufficient, and His strength made perfect in weakness.

Remember, the Physician is as tender now at the Father’s right hand as He was in the streets of Capernaum. He bears your griefs and carried your sorrows. Only look to Him, and the healing flood of His love will reach the utmost length of your need. The very hairs of your head are numbered; how much more will He regard your aching, swollen frame? Rest in His care, and let this hour of pain be the occasion for drawing nearer to Him. Soon, beneath the Tree of Life, there will be no more sickness, and all swelling will cease forever. Until then, lay your burden on Him who heals all your diseases and redeems your life from destruction.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The swelling and tenderness you feel in your body is a voice from God, a merciful call to examine the deeper swellings in your soul. Just as that limb cries out for relief, so should your conscience cry out against the hidden inflammation of sin. Do not despise this pain, for our Lord allows such afflictions not to destroy, but to brace up our souls and make us more reverent. As I have often said, galling words and bitter remedies bring healing, and what seems harsh is actually the tenderest care of a Physician who desires your eternal health. Turn to Him with tears and almsgiving, for He gave His own life to reconcile us. Let this physical tenderness become a spiritual compunction, a piercing of the heart that drives out the drowsy dullness of sin. Pray without ceasing, and do not seek only the relief of the body, but the far greater healing of the soul. For the body’s pain is but a fleeting shadow, but the soul’s cure endures to everlasting life. Endure this trial with thanksgiving, and it will become for you a door opened in the Lord, a step toward that immortal life where there is no swelling nor sorrow.

I ache with you over this tender, swollen place on your body. It is a small, sharp reminder that we live in bodies still groaning under the weight of a creation subjected to frustration. Pain was never part of the original design. It entered the world as an indirect consequence of sin, and we all share in its sighing. Yet into that very groaning, Jesus came. The prophet Isaiah spoke of Him bearing our griefs and carrying our sorrows, and Matthew, writing his Gospel account, deliberately linked that promise to physical infirmities. When Jesus walked among us, He healed every kind of sickness and every kind of disease. He touched the untouchable, spoke a word to those far away, and at other times allowed a slow, process-oriented restoration. His power is the same yesterday and today.

I want you to know that it is right and good to ask for healing. There is no formula that confines His hand, and no single pattern we can demand He follow. Sometimes the healing comes in a moment, a palpable sensation of warmth and relief that makes you jump up from your bed because you feel the change happening inside you. At other times, the healing unfolds gradually, through the intricate repair systems God Himself wove into your flesh. That kind of healing, over hours or days, is no less divine. The same Creator who spoke the worlds into being also designed your body to fight infection, to reduce swelling, and to mend what is broken. We can thank Him for that process even while we are still in the middle of it.

The hardest mystery, of course, is why some heavy things lift immediately and others remain. The apostle Paul pleaded three times for a thorn in his flesh to be removed, and the answer he received was not the removal of the pain but sufficient grace to endure it. That does not mean God lacks compassion; Scripture declares He is full of pity and tender mercy. It is simply a reality that we do not fully understand this side of eternity. It would be a cruel and unscriptural error to tell you that your suffering is caused by a lack of faith or some hidden sin. Good and faithful people have endured long sicknesses and have died of illnesses, not because God has abandoned them, but because we are still walking through a broken world, waiting for the final redemption of our bodies.

As you wait, I encourage you to invite the elders of our church to pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord, just as the early church practiced. There is a sacred place of contact where faith reaches out, like that trembling woman who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and felt the virtue flow out of Him. Let us ask Him to touch that tender, swollen place right now, whether He chooses to command the inflammation to subside in an instant or to accelerate the natural healing your body is already fighting to accomplish. Ultimately, when we partake of the bread at communion, we remember His body broken for us, a sacrifice that encompasses not just the forgiveness of sin but the full restoration of all that sin has marred, including these aching, temporary tents we live in. Lean into His mercy right now, and let us trust His perfect will for your body.
