Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly and for allowing prayer for this deep need. What you have been through has left real wounds in your mind and heart, and God sees that pain and cares about it completely.
I have prayed for you in Jesus name, asking for His healing and His peace to rest upon you.
The Scripture teaches that true peace begins with peace with God. Through the blood of Jesus shed on the cross, He has made a way for our sins to be forgiven and for the war between us and God to be over. When we turn to Him and receive that forgiveness, we are no longer running from God or fighting against Him. That is the foundation for everything else, and from that peace with God comes the peace of God to keep our hearts and minds.
The Lord says, peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near, I will heal him. His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace, not of evil, and His desire is to heal and restore you. He Himself is our peace. The kingdom of God is righteousness and peace and joy, and He wants you to live in that peace, to know it as a deep and steady reality inside you even while the world around you is full of turmoil.
The promise is, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee. And Jesus said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth. The peace He gives passes all understanding and guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. That perfect peace comes as we keep our minds stayed on Him, looking to Him, trusting Him to take care of what we cannot carry on our own.
Healing is something God does in many ways. Sometimes it is instant, sometimes it is gradual, step by step. All true healing is from Him, whether in the body or in the emotions and memories of the mind. The prophet Isaiah said of Jesus, He bore our griefs and infirmities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed. He understands the distressing memories that trouble you and He is able to heal the scars and wounds that abuse and trauma have left.
I pray that as you keep your eyes on Jesus, He will fill your heart with His love and quiet your mind with His perfect peace. May you know deeply that you belong to Him, that you are forgiven and held by Him, and that He has ordained peace for you. May He gently heal your memories, calm the inner turmoil, and replace fear and distress with the assurance of His presence and care. When painful thoughts arise, may He help you to turn your mind toward Him and to rest in the truth that He is with you and will keep you.
Father, I lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. Thank You for Your mercy and grace. Bring healing to the mind and heart, wash away distress, and let Your peace which passes understanding keep this heart and mind. Help this life to be stayed upon You and to experience Your restoring love day by day. Amen.
