We are joining with you in prayer and we thank you for sharing this deep need with us. We hear the weight of what you have carried from abuse and trauma, and we want you to know that God sees every wound, every distressing memory, and every ache in your heart. What happened to you was evil and was not your fault, and the Lord is close to you in this pain and desires to bring healing and restoration.
The Word reminds us that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18 and that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. He does not ask you to simply forget or to push the memories away on your own strength, but He invites you to bring every hurt and anxious thought to Him. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also cling to His promise, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
We want to encourage you that healing of the mind and heart is often a journey, and God is patient and gentle with you in that process. He wants to renew your mind day by day. Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God Romans 12:2. As distressing memories rise, we encourage you to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5, replacing lies from trauma that you are alone, unworthy, or forgotten with the truth of who you are in Him, loved, seen, and held. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you Isaiah 26:3. We also encourage you to not walk this road alone, but to stay rooted in Scripture, in prayer, and in fellowship with trusted believers and, if needed, a godly counselor or pastor who can walk with you through trauma with wisdom and care.
We pray together now for you.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know every memory that causes distress, every night of unrest, every moment when the heart feels overwhelmed. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon their mind and heart. Wash away the torment of those memories with Your peace, and guard their heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Father, heal the broken places, bind up the wounds left by abuse, and let Your perfect love cast out all fear. Renew their mind with Your truth, quiet the intrusive thoughts, and fill them with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind them daily that they are Yours, that they are not forgotten, and that You are near. Give them restful sleep, steady hope, and the assurance that You are making them whole. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that would keep them in shame or fear, and we declare Your truth and Your comfort over them. Strengthen them, uphold them with Your righteous right hand, and lead them step by step into wholeness. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We are standing with you and we thank God that you called upon the name of Jesus, for it is in His name we have access to the Father and it is by Him we are saved and healed. Keep bringing your heart to Him honestly, even when the words are few. He is faithful and He will continue His good work in you until it is complete.
